Entitlement values for the Enhanced Security and the Additional Runtime Platform Restrictions
I recently turned on the enhanced security options for my macOS app in Xcode 26.0.1 by adding the Enhanced Security capability in the Signing and Capabilities tab. Then, Xcode adds the following key-value sets (with some other key-values) to my app's entitlements file. <key>com.apple.security.hardened-process.enhanced-security-version</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>com.apple.security.hardened-process.platform-restrictions</key> <integer>2</integer> These values appear following the documentation about the enhanced security feature (Enabling enhanced security for your app) and the app works without any issues. However, when I submitted a new version to the Mac App Store, my submission was rejected, and I received the following message from the App Review team via the App Store Connect. Guideline 2.4.5(i) - Performance Your app incorrectly implements sandboxing, or it contains one or more entitlements with invalid values. Please review the included entitlements and sandboxing documentation and resolve this issue before resubmitting a new binary. Entitlement "com.apple.security.hardened-process.enhanced-security-version" value must be boolean and true. Entitlement "com.apple.security.hardened-process.platform-restrictions" value must be boolean and true. When I changed those values directly in the entitlements file based on this message, the app appears to still work. However, these settings are against the description in the documentation I mentioned above and against the settings Xcode inserted after changing the GUI setting view. So, my question is, which settings are actually correct to enable the Enhanced Security and the Additional Runtime Platform Restrictions?

Auto-renewable subscriptions stuck in "Waiting for Review" causing StoreKit products unavailable during App Review
Hi Apple Developer Forums, I am experiencing a repeated issue with auto-renewable subscriptions during App Review for my iOS app. The app uses RevenueCat for subscription management. The subscription products exist in App Store Connect and are correctly configured, but they remain in "Waiting for Review". During App Review, the reviewer attempts to access the subscription paywall and receives an error stating that subscriptions are unavailable. This appears to happen because StoreKit cannot fetch the products while they are still waiting for review. This creates a loop: Subscriptions exist in App Store Connect and are in "Waiting for Review" App Review installs the app StoreKit cannot return the subscription products yet RevenueCat returns an "offerings_fetch_failed" error The reviewer sees "subscriptions unavailable" The app is rejected before the subscriptions are approved We have thoroughly verified the configuration: • Subscription group exists • All products are inside the group • Product IDs match exactly between App Store Connect and RevenueCat • RevenueCat is correctly configured with the Apple App Store API key • Offerings and packages are correctly configured in RevenueCat • The app correctly handles missing offerings and displays a fallback message • The latest TestFlight build shows a diagnostic message confirming the issue originates from StoreKit not returning products • The app build itself installs and runs normally This has now happened multiple review cycles and we have verified all configuration options. At this stage the only remaining explanation appears to be the order of the review process. It seems the subscriptions must be approved before StoreKit can return them, but the app is being evaluated before the subscriptions have been processed. Because of this, the reviewer sees the "subscriptions unavailable" message and rejects the app before the subscriptions have been approved. Is there a recommended process for submitting the first app version with auto-renewable subscriptions to avoid this situation? Specifically: • Should the subscriptions be approved before the app review begins? • Or is there a specific way to attach the subscriptions to the version when the "Add" option is not visible on the version page? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated as we have now thoroughly checked all configuration and believe this may be a review workflow issue rather than a configuration problem. Thank you.

iPadOS 26.1: new issue with traitCollection when changing dark mode
Since iPadOS 26.1 I notice a new annoying bug when changing the dark mode option of the system. The appearance of the UI changes, but no longer for view controllers which are presented as Popover. For these view controllers the method "traitCollectionDidChange()" is still called (though sometimes with a very large delay), but checking the traitCollection property of the view controller in there does no longer return the correct appearance (which is probably why the visual appearance of the popover doesn't change anymore). So if the dark mode was just switched on, traitCollectionDidChange() is called, but the "traitCollection.userInterfaceStyle" property still tells me that the system is in normal mode. More concrete, traitCollection.userInterfaceStyle seems to be set correctly only(!) when opening the popover, and while the popover is open, it is never updated anymore when the dark mode changes. This is also visible in the standard Apps of the iPad, like the Apple Maps App: just tap on the "map" icon at the top right to open the "Map mode" view. While the view is open, change the dark mode. All of the Maps App will change its appearance, with the exception of this "Map mode" view. Does anyone know an easy workaround? Or do I really need to manually change the colors for all popup view controllers whenever the dark mode changes? Using dynamic UIColors won't help, because these rely on the "userInterfaceStyle" property, and this is no longer correct. Bugreport: FB20928471

Tahoe 26.4 breaks custom paths with NetFSMountURLSync?
Just wondering if anyone ran into this issue. I use NetFSMountURLSync for my application with which I allow the user to use a custom path as a mount point (instead of "/Volumes"). This has worked just fine for at least a decade now, but ... since the Tahoe 26.4 "update" mounting to a custom path only generates errors. Note: Mounting to "/Volumes" works correctly (mountpoint = NIL). Since I'm unaware of any changes; is this a bug introduced by Tahoe 26.4, or should I be using a different function to mount a network share?

4.3(b) Appeal Pending for 23 Days - No Visibility in Resolution Center
Hello everyone, I am looking for some advice or shared experiences regarding a prolonged App Review Board appeal process. I submitted my app earlier this month. On March 3rd, it was rejected under guideline 4.3(b) Spam. On the exact same day (March 3rd), I submitted a detailed appeal to the App Review Board. In my appeal, I provided clear documentation and explanations to prove that the app is not a generic template. I specifically highlighted our proprietary algorithm that calculates a unique total daily energy percentage for users, which distinctly separates it from standard, saturated apps in the market. The issue: It has now been 23 days since I submitted the appeal, and I have not received any response from the Board. My main concern is the lack of visibility. Since appeals to the Board do not appear in the Resolution Center UI, I have no way of knowing if my ticket is actually actively open, in a queue, or if it has been lost due to a system glitch. I recently tried reaching out to general support to verify the ticket's status, but I only received an automated generic response stating that if I have already appealed, I should just wait. My questions for the community: Has anyone else experienced wait times exceeding 3 weeks for a 4.3(b) appeal recently? Is there any workaround to simply verify that an internal appeal ticket is genuinely open and hasn't fallen through the cracks? Any insights or advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

We’ve received your support request and will get back to you as soon as possible. Your case ID is 102831222355.” It has now been more than ten days without any further communication or status update. Could anyone advise on the appropriate next steps in this situation?

Need MetricKit Implementation details for MacOS background Application, mainly for
Hi, We are trying to integrate Metric Kit into our MacOS Application. Our application is a background process. We are interested in getting CPU and Memory metrics for our process. MXMetricPayload is the one we are looking at. We tried to integrate metric Kit and left the background app for 24 hours, we did not get any callback. So, does metric kit work for background app in MacOS? Also does it for Network Extension?

Unable to install Metal toolchain through Xcode Cloud
We build TestFlight/App Store builds of our app through Xcode Cloud. Our app uses Metal shaders so we install the Metal toolchain through a ci_pre_xcodebuild.sh script which simply runs: xcodebuild -downloadComponent metalToolchain in our Xcode Cloud builds. This has been working well for us for the last 6 months or so, but since yesterday (March 5) we have been seeing consistent failures when running this script in our Xcode Cloud builds: Beginning asset download... 2026-03-06 04:14:34.727 xcodebuild[13315:58523] Writing error result bundle to /var/folders/6h/_32gb9js77g6c54h3q7g6q1h0000gn/T/ResultBundle_2026-06-03_04-14-0034.xcresult xcodebuild: error: Failed fetching catalog for assetType (com.apple.MobileAsset.MetalToolchain), serverParameters ({ RequestedBuild = 17C7003j; }) Prior to Mar 5 it looks like the toolchain image which was being downloaded/installed was 17C519 but this has now changed to 17C7003j. We haven't changed anything with our Xcode Cloud workflow setup, and the same macOS/Xcode images are being used for the workflow runs (macOS Tahoe 26.2 (25C56) and Xcode 26.3 (17C529) respectively) now as when our builds were succeeding a few days ago. What's the best way to resolve this issue? Looks like we can't even pass an image identifier to xcodebuild -downloadComponent so we're a bit stuck here.

App stuck in “Waiting for Review” for a long time – need guidance
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some guidance regarding my app review process. I submitted my iOS app (version 1.0) and it has been in “Waiting for Review” status for quite some time now. I understand that review times can vary, but this is taking longer than I expected, and I’m not sure if this is normal or if there might be an issue with my submission. For some additional context: The first time I submitted the app, it was rejected. Since I’m new to the Apple Developer platform, I mistakenly removed the rejected build instead of addressing the rejection and resubmitting. After that, I submitted the app again, and now it’s been waiting for review. My question is: Could removing the rejected build have caused any delays or issues with the review process? Or is the current waiting time unrelated to that? I would really appreciate any advice from experienced developers on whether I should just continue waiting or if there’s something specific I should check or do. Thank you in advance for your help!

Swift Playgrounds Incompatibility with Xcode 16 Files and Swift Versions
I'm facing an issue with Swift Playgrounds and files created in Xcode 16. It seems that Swift Playgrounds does not support Swift 6, but even when I create files specifically with Swift 5, Swift Playgrounds still reports that the files are unsupported. This creates a significant problem because macOS Sequoia does not allow me to revert to Xcode 15, which might have offered better compatibility. As it stands, I can't find a solution to work seamlessly between Xcode and Swift Playgrounds. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Are there any workarounds or updates planned to address this compatibility gap? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Apple Support are you even here?
I’m creating a new post because the situation has gone far beyond reasonable. My Apple Developer Program enrollment has been stuck in “Pending” status for almost a month. During this time, I have sent around 10 emails to Apple Developer Program Support. Result: ZERO REPLISES. NO EXPLANATIONS NO UPDATES. NO HELP. If you are experiencing the same issue — or have faced it before — please leave a comment or upvote this thread so it gets visibility. At this point, this seems to be the only way to get Apple’s attention. Apple, this situation needs to be addressed.

We’ve received your support request and will get back to you as soon as possible. Your case ID is 102831222355.” It has now been more than ten days without any further communication or status update. Could anyone advise on the appropriate next steps in this situation?

Strange crash in iOS AudioToolboxCore when using AVSpeechSynthesizer in iOS 16

Edit: I can't reproduce the crash myself - it's just some (not all) app users. The log entries above appear locally on my device (with no crash) but I can't see the logs of the users who have the crashes. Any idea what this might be caused by, or how to go about tracking the problem down?

Wrong appearance of decimalPad keyboard in dark mode
Hi. The following code causes UI mismatch on iOS26. Keyboard with type decimalPad and appearance as dark is displayed as popUp with wrong colors. Before iOS26 keyboard was regular with correct color scheme. Please advice either how to make the scheme correct or force to display regular keyboard instead of popup. class ViewController: UIViewController { @IBOutlet weak var textField: UITextField! override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() // Do any additional setup after loading the view. textField.keyboardType = .decimalPad textField.keyboardAppearance = .dark view.backgroundColor = .darkGray } }
