HealthKit on macOS
HealthKit is currently not supported on macOS nor tvOS, despite being supported by visionOS. Support for macOS was last asked about[1] here in 2018. My goal is to display interactive data visualisations over workouts collected in HealthKit on macOS. Will this be possible to do in the near future using HealthKit directly? If not, can I somehow read the information from an iPhone and display it on the mac? Cheers, Rodrigo [1] https://aninterestingwebsite.com/forums/thread/94937

App Store reviews are typically quick, but my Product Page Optimization remains stuck in review
This is my first iOS app release and I’m a bit confused. The initial version was reviewed in under 12 hours (rejected), and the corrected version was approved just as quickly. But my Product Page Optimization with only screenshots has been stuck in “Waiting for Review” for four days. Do these get reviewed only with new versions, or should I just wait it out?

Wallet no longer appear near iBeacon
Hello, We are testing Wallet passes with iBeacons in iOS 26 Beta. In earlier iOS releases, when a device was in proximity to a registered beacon, the corresponding pass would surface automatically. In iOS 26 Beta, this behavior no longer occurs, even if the pass is already present in Wallet. I have not found documentation of this change in the iOS 26 release notes. Could you please confirm whether this is expected in iOS 26, or if it may be a Beta-specific issue? Any pointers to updated documentation would be appreciated. Thank you.

MultiDatePicker bug in iOS26
Hi! I've encountered strange bug in iOS 26. The MultiDatePicker component exhibits unreliable behavior when attempting to deselect previously chosen dates. Users often need to tap a selected date multiple times (e.g., tap to deselect, tap to re-select, then tap again to deselect) for the UI to correctly register the deselection and update the displayed state. This issue does not occur on iOS 18 or Xcode 26 previews, where MultiDatePicker functions as expected, allowing single-tap deselection. The bug only occurs on physical device or simulator. I can't lie, I have multidatepicker as crucial component in my larger app and can't really find a solution to this. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Here is the code to replicate the issue: import SwiftUI struct ContentView: View {     @ State private var selectedDates: Set = []     var body: some View {         NavigationStack {             Form {                 Section {                     MultiDatePicker("Select Dates", selection: $selectedDates)                 } header: {                     Text("MultiDatePicker Bug Test")                 }                 Section {                     Text("Selected Dates Count: (selectedDates.count)")                     ForEach(Array(selectedDates).sorted(by: {                         Calendar.current.date(from: $0)! < Calendar.current.date(from: $1)!                     }), id: .self) { dateComponent in                         if let date = Calendar.current.date(from: dateComponent) {                             Text(date.formatted(date: .long, time: .omitted))                         }                     }                 } header: {                     Text("Current State of Selected Dates")                 }             }             .navigationTitle("Date Picker Bug")         }     } } #Preview {     ContentView() }

How to manually install iOS 26 Simulator download archive?
For difficult reasons I won’t get into, I ended up manually downloading the latest iOS 26 simulator runtime. I now have a file named 78756498-8AB4-4E5A-986C-7AA435758657.aar copied to my Mac. How do I get this archive installed so Xcode 26 recognizes it as a proper simulator runtime component? All searching I‘ve done for manually installing simulators references dmg files and older versions of Xcode. There’s no mention of aar files. When I tried the command: sudo xcrun simctl runtime add ./78756498-8AB4-4E5A-986C-7AA435758657.aar I get the result: An error was encountered processing the command (domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain, code=22): Error while creating AEA backend Invalid argument I tried to use Archive Utility to open the file but that just says it is unable to expand the file. I even tried renaming the file with a dmg extension and then tried mounting the file and I get the same “AEA backend” error. My Mac doesn’t have sufficient Internet access to let me download and install this normally through Xcode. I need to find a way to get this file installed manually.

UITabBarController crashes when editing the items
I'm using one UITabBarController which leads to 6 NavigationController. Therefore the user will get 4 icons displayed and one icon with three points to see the rest of the Navigation Controller. If the user now tries to edit the list and moves one item from the hidden area towards the TabBar at the bottom, the App crashes with the error: Exception NSException * "Can't add self as subview" 0x0000600000d16040 I can see this effect at least on both my apps. If the same compilation is run on a older iOS version, there is no crash. Is there anything I have to take care of the configuration of the TabBar, when it comes to iOS26?

Incorrect keyboard frame on iOS 26 when using Secure Text with Autofill
Area: Software Update Type of Feedback: Application Bug Description Device: iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 26 Build environment: Xcode 16.4 Problem description: When a text field has secureTextEntry = YES and Password Autofill / Passkeys is active, the autofill panel is not included in the rect reported from the keyboard notifications (UIKeyboardFrameEndUserInfoKey or others). As a result, when calculating the offset to move the screen up and reveal the hidden input field, the field is not displayed correctly because the reported keyboard height is smaller than the actual visible height. Observed behavior: This only occurs on devices running iOS 26 built with Xcode 16.4. On previous versions of iOS, with the same settings (secureTextEntry and Autofill active), the rect correctly includes the autofill panel height, and the UI works as expected. I tested with both UIKeyboardDidShowNotification and UIKeyboardWillChangeFrameNotification, and in both cases the behavior is the same: the height is incorrect (smaller than expected with the autofill panel). What I expect / questions: That UIKeyboardFrameEndUserInfoKey (or the related notification) correctly reports the total area covered by the keyboard, including any password autofill panel, when secureTextEntry is active. That the new behavior in iOS 26 be documented if this omission is intentional, or otherwise considered a bug if it is not. If there is any official workaround suggested by Apple for developers affected by this issue while a fix is provided. Thank you for your support.

Does Xcode 26 Still Support Pull Requests?
Does Xcode 26 still support creating pull requests and/or viewing comments from GitHub pull requests associated with the current branch? This used to be possible, but I cannot get it to work with the current version of Xcode (26.0.1). The "Create Pull Request" menu item takes me to github.com directly, instead of presenting a nice UI menu; hence I'm wondering.

iOS 26 - S/MIME Encryption / Certificates
Hi everyone. Since the update to iOS 26, we are no longer able to tap the person's name and view the certificate of a signed email and choose to install the certificate or remove it. This has always worked just fine but seems to be broken on iOS 26 and I have verified that it does not work on iOS 26.1 beta as well. The part that is strange is it does work just fine on an iPad running iPad OS 26. This makes it impossible to send encrypted emails to someone via the mail app on an iPhone. I have found a temporary workaround which is to install Outlook for iOS and install the certificates through that app which then allows me to send encrypted emails via Outlook. This appears to be a bug just with the iPhone as I have also seen a few other people online talking about the same problem. Has anyone found a solution to this?

Potential Structural Swift Concurrency Issue: unsafeForcedSync called from Swift Concurrent context
I occasionally get this error in Xcode’s console: Potential Structural Swift Concurrency Issue: unsafeForcedSync called from Swift Concurrent context. What does this mean, and how can I resolve it? Googling it doesn’t turn up any results. This doesn't crash the app - it’s just an error diagnostic that I see in the Xcode console. The app keeps running before and after the issue. Is there a way I can set a breakpoint to catch this where it happens?

URL Filter - blocked web page behaviour
1) Blocked page UX When a URL is blocked, the browser typically shows a generic error like “"Safari cannot open the page because it couldn’t load any data,” with no indication that the page was blocked by a policy. Is there any plan to add an API that allows developers to present a custom “blocked” page or remediation action, similar to NEFilterControlProvider’s remediationMap? Even a minimal hook (custom HTML, deep link, or support URL) would make the experience clearer for users. 2) Cross‑app link‑opening behavior With a block rule in place, direct navigation in Safari is blocked as expected. However, tapping the same URL in a messaging app (e.g., WhatsApp) opens Safari - and the page loads, not blocked. Repro steps: Configure a URL Filter extension that blocks https://example.com. Case A: Open a browser and type the URL in the address bar → blocked (expected). Case B: Tap the same URL in WhatsApp (or another messenger) → a browser opens and the page loads (unexpected). iOS version - 26.0

What’s the best way to improve my app’s rating and get more positive reviews?
My iOS app currently holds a 3.5★ rating with limited reviews, and I’d like to raise it by motivating happy users to share feedback. I’m looking for ethical ways to do this without being pushy. What are the best strategies and timing for review prompts to boost ratings while keeping users satisfied?

spcData payload (fairplay.cer) for FairPlay key server
We're sending the spcData payload to our fairplay key server (version 5.1) with the base64 encoded string of our fairPlay.cer that was downloaded from our developer portal and we're getting a spcVersionErr (-42580) for the spc version. The value that is being received by the key server seems to be 813827283 when it should be either 1 (base_constants.SPCVersion.v1.rawValue) or 2 (base_constant.SPCVersion.v2.rawValue). We're assuming we're encoding the fairplay.cer incorrectly. Any insight from anybody would be appreciated.

Swipe to go back still broken with Zoom navigation transition.
When you use .navigationTransition(.zoom(sourceID: "placeholder", in: placehoder)) for navigation animation, going back using the swipe gesture is still very buggy on IOS26. I know it has been mentioned in other places like here: https://aninterestingwebsite.com/forums/thread/796805?answerId=856846022#856846022 but nothing seems to have been done to fix this issue. Here is a video showing the bug comparing when the back button is used vs swipe to go back: https://imgur.com/a/JgEusRH I wish there was a way to at least disable the swipe back gesture until this bug is fixed.

Direction data not available with U2 chip (iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro) when using Murata SR040/SR150 accessory
Hello, I am developing with the Nearby Interaction framework using third-party UWB accessories (Murata SR040/SR150). I observed a difference between U1-based and U2-based iPhones: iPhone 12 Pro (U1 chip) NINearbyObject.direction returns valid 3D vector (x, y, z). Distance and direction both work as expected. iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro (U2 chip) NINearbyObject.direction is always nil. Only distance is returned (around 0.35–0.40 m in my test). Effectively behaves as "distance-only mode". Environment: Hardware: iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro iOS version: 18.5 Accessory: Murata UWB SR040 / SR150 App: Using NINearbyAccessoryConfiguration with BLE-based discovery Info.plist includes NSNearbyInteractionUsageDescription Camera assistance was tested both ON and OFF Expectation: I expected the U2 chip to behave consistently with U1, i.e. provide direction vectors when possible. Instead, on iPhone 15 Pro, direction is always unavailable (nil) while distance is returned correctly. Questions: Is this an intentional limitation for U2 chip + third-party accessories? Is there a new requirement (e.g. certification, firmware update, capability flags) to enable direction on U2 devices? Could this be related to NIDeviceCapability or the new Extended Distance Measurement (EDM) mode in U2? Thanks in advance for any clarification.

Entitlement values for the Enhanced Security and the Additional Runtime Platform Restrictions
I recently turned on the enhanced security options for my macOS app in Xcode 26.0.1 by adding the Enhanced Security capability in the Signing and Capabilities tab. Then, Xcode adds the following key-value sets (with some other key-values) to my app's entitlements file. <key>com.apple.security.hardened-process.enhanced-security-version</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>com.apple.security.hardened-process.platform-restrictions</key> <integer>2</integer> These values appear following the documentation about the enhanced security feature (Enabling enhanced security for your app) and the app works without any issues. However, when I submitted a new version to the Mac App Store, my submission was rejected, and I received the following message from the App Review team via the App Store Connect. Guideline 2.4.5(i) - Performance Your app incorrectly implements sandboxing, or it contains one or more entitlements with invalid values. Please review the included entitlements and sandboxing documentation and resolve this issue before resubmitting a new binary. Entitlement "com.apple.security.hardened-process.enhanced-security-version" value must be boolean and true. Entitlement "com.apple.security.hardened-process.platform-restrictions" value must be boolean and true. When I changed those values directly in the entitlements file based on this message, the app appears to still work. However, these settings are against the description in the documentation I mentioned above and against the settings Xcode inserted after changing the GUI setting view. So, my question is, which settings are actually correct to enable the Enhanced Security and the Additional Runtime Platform Restrictions?

Xcode_26 not compiling Metal project
Hello Xcode 26.0.1 (17A400) Missing some Metal components When building a program using Metal, it induces an unexpected error : “error: error: cannot execute tool 'metal' due to missing Metal Toolchain; use: xcodebuild -downloadComponent MetalToolchain Command CompileMetalFile failed with a nonzero exit code” Which terminates the build The fix given “xcodebuild -downloadComponent MetalToolchain” using sudo does not work Did someone find a work around or could resolve the issue? Many thanks Jean MacBook Air M4; macOS 26.0.1; Xcode 26.0.1
