Notarization Taking Days
Hello all, I am attempting to notarize my newly made Mac OS application using the notarization command in VS Code. "/Users/teejgotit/Desktop/Cursor Workspace/Rust CutContour v2/cutcontour-app/src-tauri/target/release/bundle/dmg/CC Studio_0.1.0_aarch64.dmg" \ --key "/Users/teejgotit/AppleCerts/AuthKey_MATVLX3.p8" \ --key-id "MATVLX9" \ --issuer "887ba428-aa39-4fb3-a3dc-f83b9145cab0" \ --wait Only to be met with a continual "Current State: In Progress.." for what has been about 1 day and 16 hours now. Current status: In Progress........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ My app and project are rather small and was curious if this is a normal thing for this to day takes for a first time notarization? Would love any help or feedback.

Provisioning profile missing entitlement: com.apple.developer.icloud
Hi, I do have a strange behavior in my development environment on a Mac mini (M4) running 26.2 and Xcode 26.3. Everything was working as expected. My project had a stable state and I wanted to enable iCloud support. As result I could not run the app any more because code signing failed with the message that my profile does not include the above entitlement. On my notebook (M2) with XCode 26.3 everything is working. Im am using GIT and both computers have identical code. The code compiling and running on my notebook will not run any more on my Max mini. Any help to find what might have broken the code signing and how it could be fixed? Thanks in advance.

App doesn't trigger Privacy Apple Events prompt after a while.
I've developed a Mac app distributed through the App Store that uses NSAppleScript to control Spotify and Apple Music. I'm experiencing inconsistent behavior with automation permission prompts that's affecting user experience. Expected Behavior: When my app first attempts to send Apple Events to Spotify or Apple Music, macOS should display the automation permission prompt, and upon user approval, the app should appear in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Automation. Actual Behavior: Initial permission prompts work correctly when both apps are actively used after my app download. If a user hasn't launched Spotify/Apple Music for an extended period, the permission prompt fails to appear when they later open the music app. The music app doesn't appear in the Automation privacy pane too. Once this happens, permission prompts never trigger again for that app Steps to Reproduce: Fresh install of my app Don't use Spotify for several days/weeks Launch Spotify Trigger Apple Events from my app to Spotify No permission prompt appears, app doesn't show in Automation settings If you're using Apple Music during this time it runs without any problems. Troubleshooting Attempted: Used tccutil reset AppleEvents [bundle-identifier] - no effect Verified target apps are fully launched before sending Apple Events Tried different AppleScript commands to trigger permissions Problem occurs inconsistently across different Macs Technical Details: macOS 13+ support Using standard NSAppleScript with simple commands like "tell application 'Spotify' to playpause" App Store distribution (no private APIs) Issue affects both Spotify and Apple Music but seems more prevalent with Apple Music Questions: Is there a reliable way to programmatically trigger the automation permission prompt? Are there timing dependencies for when macOS decides to show permission prompts? Could app priority/usage patterns affect permission prompt behavior? I use MediaManager to run the functions and initialize it on AppDidFinishLaunching method and start monitoring there. Any insights or workarounds would be greatly appreciated. This inconsistency is affecting user onboarding and app functionality.

Notarization submissions stuck "In Progress" for 10 days
All of my notarization submissions have been stuck at "In Progress" for up to 10 days. I have 6 submissions spanning from March 4 to March 11, 2026, and none of them have completed or returned any errors. Affected submissions: dbf20b57-0073-444a-b09a-ac6747b7398e (submitted Mar 4) — In Progress d5886683-be64-455c-805d-cd8b12bbcd35 (submitted Mar 4) — In Progress 10bfa709-da17-49cf-9c89-63f93b5fb756 (submitted Mar 4) — In Progress e8d0866e-43f8-4a18-8129-64e6c5d3895a (submitted Mar 9) — In Progress f9526f25-5650-4c45-98ae-d778c58a2ffa (submitted Mar 9) — In Progress 82ec211f-9179-41fd-afe0-937c9b2c2750 (submitted Mar 11) — In Progress Running `notarytool log` returns "Submission log is not yet available." Team ID: CB4U5M6U9H It is an Electron-based app built with electron-builder. Steps taken to ensure compliance: Signed with a valid Developer ID Application certificate Hardened runtime enabled (hardenedRuntime: true) Proper entitlements configured (com.apple.security.cs.allow-jit, com.apple.security.cs.allow-unsigned-executable-memory, com.apple.security.cs.disable-library-validation) Entitlements inherited for child processes via entitlements.mac.inherit.plist Electron Fuses configured to disable Node.js CLI flags in production (resetAdHocDarwinSignature enabled) App submitted as a zip archive via notarytool submit I've tried resubmitting multiple times across different builds, but all submissions remain stuck. I also have an open support case (102836201208) that was escalated to Senior Advisors on March 11, but have not received any update. Could someone from the notarization team please investigate?

Notarization stuck "In Progress" — both DMG and ZIP, Electron app, 5+ attempts
All notarization submissions remain stuck "In Progress" and never complete. Tested both DMG and ZIP formats — same result. This has been consistent across 5+ attempts on March 29, 2026. App: Electron desktop app (arm64), signed with Developer ID Application, hardened runtime enabled, secure timestamp present. DMG submissions (all stuck): 568cc9c3-e711-41ba-99ce-6af5a1860ae9 (10 min timeout) e0a345c3-ddf8-4771-bdda-e0bc133ff723 (20 min timeout) 6757e5a9-d95b-45b3-95d5-41cb23384bea (20 min timeout) ZIP submission (.app bundle via ditto, ~207MB): Also stuck "In Progress" for 10+ minutes notarytool log returns "Submission log is not yet available" for all submissions. Developer ID Notary Service shows "Available" on System Status page. Environment: macOS GitHub Actions runner (macos-latest), latest Xcode, xcrun notarytool. Seeing similar reports from other developers this week. Is there a known service issue?

Binary Signing Error
I will post my app xyz.app uses XY swift package this swift package is a wrapper for XYSDK.xcframework XYSDK.xcframework written in c++ and app running on arm64 macos and iphones succesfully. I got this error when i want to distribute it. Currently i sign .framework for ios with Apple Distribution Certificate and same certificate for macos framework there is no other signing step for swift package or xcframework other than that when i want to archive it validates succesfully. Exporting step shows that app has signed, has provisining profile. but .framework is only signed has no provisioning profile. Also one point i see: i have one target named xyz and its Frameworks, Lİbraries and Embedded Context has only XY package but Embed part has no option like embed and sign etc. Blank. I need more info about what am i doing wrong in which step ? I am stuck and can not move any further like weeks Error Detail: Invalid Signature. The binary with bundle identifier XYSDK at path “xyz.app/Frameworks/XYSDK.framework” contains an invalid signature. Make sure you have signed your application with a distribution certificate, not an ad hoc certificate or a development certificate. Verify that the code signing settings in Xcode are correct at the target level (which override any values at the project level). Additionally, make sure the bundle you are uploading was built using a Release target in Xcode, not a Simulator target. If you are certain your code signing settings are correct, choose “Clean All” in Xcode, delete the “build” directory in the Finder, and rebuild your release target. Family Controls (Distribution) approved via email but portal still shows "Submitted" - blocking App Store submission
Hi, I submitted a Family Controls (Distribution) entitlement request for my app Faith Lock (com.faithlock.ios) - a prayer-focused iOS app that uses the Screen Time API to help users block distracting apps. I received an approval email, but the portal still shows the request as "Submitted" and the Distribution option does not appear under Additional Capabilities for my identifier. This is blocking me from submitting to App Store Connect. Details: Bundle ID: com.faithlock.ios Team ID: F86P575UNP Request IDs: 3PWTDR8KL3 / 885ZK276KK Status in portal: Submitted (unchanged since approval email) Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way to get the portal manually updated to reflect the approval? Any help or escalation from a DTS engineer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Notarization in queue but stuck in process
Hello! All notarization submissions for our team (i.e., me) have been stuck "In Progress" since my first attempt on 2026-03-31. This includes a trivial Hello World CLI binary (single print statement, ~8KB), confirming the issue is account/team-level, not related to package content. Team ID: KK4X4YSB8V (Selitic B.V.) This is our first time notarizing. Binary is properly signed with Developer ID Application certificate, hardened runtime enabled, valid timestamp. codesign --verify and spctl pass locally. ScreenCaptureKit permissions lost after every build — solved by switching signing identity
Sharing a solution for a problem that took me a while to figure out. Problem: During development of a macOS 26 app that uses ScreenCaptureKit, the screen capture permissions were being reset after every build. Each time I compiled and ran the app from Xcode, I had to re-authorize screen capture in System Settings. CGPreflightScreenCaptureAccess() would return false even though I'd just granted permission minutes ago. Root cause: I was using ad-hoc code signing during development. macOS ties screen capture permissions to the app's code signing identity. With ad-hoc signing, the identity changes on every build, so the system treats each build as a "new" app. Solution: Switch to an Apple Development certificate for debug builds. In Xcode: Build Settings → Code Signing Identity → Debug → set to "Apple Development" Make sure your development team is selected After this change, the signing identity remains stable across builds, and screen capture permissions persist. This might be related to the broader issue discussed in this forum about ScreenCapture permissions disappearing — if other developers are seeing permissions vanish, it's worth checking whether the code signing identity is changing between sessions.

Provisioning profile "..." doesn't include the com.apple.developer.deviceactivity entitlement
I'm working on an app that needs access to device activity. When I add device activity entitlement, I'm getting Provisioning profile "..." doesn't include the com.apple.developer.deviceactivity entitlement. This is failing for both, the main app and the extension, and both have entitlements added. It is not clear how to add it to the profile, the provisioning profile is created/managed by XCode. When I remove the entitlement, I can build my app but it won't be able to use device activity data I reached out to Developer Support, and they sent me here. What is the right way to add device activity entitlement? I'm also seeing another issue with XCode Cloud builds. When I remove device activity entitlement. I can build my app w/o any issue, and I can also install it directly on my iPhone. However, XCode Cloud builds fail wit Run command: 'xcodebuild -exportArchive -archivePath /Volumes/workspace/tmp/d41fc2f1-4f39-4906-8941-112488e75f6c.xcarchive -exportPath /Volumes/workspace/adhocexport -exportOptionsPlist /Volumes/workspace/ci/ad-hoc-exportoptions.plist '-DVTPortalRequest.Endpoint=http://172.16.68.193:8089' -DVTProvisioningIsManaged=YES -IDEDistributionLogDirectory=/Volumes/workspace/tmp/ad-hoc-export-archive-logs -DVTSkipCertificateValidityCheck=YES -DVTServicesLogLevel=3' I suspect that it could be related to my app having DeviceActivityExtension but no device activity entitlement is present. Thanks, Peter.

Notarization submissions stuck "In Progress" for hours — requesting investigation
Hi, I have two notarization submissions that have been stuck in "In Progress" status for several hours with no resolution. Submission IDs: 2158329b-8beb-400b-aa80-f8c2a5f30106 (submitted ~9 hours ago) 73174908-3ed9-4a85-afe0-a3c3b0722a61 (submitted ~3 hours ago) Both submissions show "In Progress" indefinitely and no log is available for either. The notarytool --wait --timeout 30m timed out on the second submission with exit code 124. The app is signed with a valid Developer ID Application certificate, all binaries including frameworks and dylibs are individually signed with --options runtime and --timestamp. A previous submission returned valid on disk / satisfies its Designated Requirement via spctl --assess. Could you please investigate whether these submissions are stuck on your end, and advise on next steps? Thank you.

Team not configured for notarization — no response from Developer Programs Support for 9+ days
I'm unable to notarize my macOS app — notarytool returns statusCode 7000 ("Team is not yet configured for notarization"). My Developer ID certificate is valid (expires 2031), code signing works fine. Timeline: March 4 — opened case 102832266798 via Developer Programs Support March 6 — Apple replied, but the email never arrived (not in spam either) March 9 — sent follow-up requesting the response be resent — no reply March 13 — opened new case 102840272497 via Program Enrollment form — waiting It's been 9 days with no resolution. DTS confirmed this is not a technical issue and referred me to Developer Programs Support. Team ID: 9NL8W3646T Bundle ID: com.traart.app How can I escalate this? Has anyone experienced a similar situation with a new account?

Enterprise Vendor Id changing when it shouldn't
Hi All, Really weird one here... I have two bundle ids with the same reverse dns name... com.company.app1 com.company.app2 app1 was installed on the device a year ago. app2 was also installed on the device a year ago but I released a new updated version and pushed it to the device via Microsoft InTunes. A year ago the vendor Id's matched as the bundle id's were on the same domain of com.company. Now for some reason the new build of app2 or any new app I build isn't being recognised as on the same domain as app1 even though the bundle id should make it so and so the Vendor Id's do not match and it is causing me major problems as I rely on the Vendor Id to exchange data between the apps on a certain device. In an enterprise environment, does anyone know of any other reason or things that could affect the Vendor Id? According to Apple docs, it seems that only the bundle name affects the vendor id but it isn't following those rules in this instance.

Submission history (all stuck): Successfully received submission history. history -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2026-04-01T11:29:01.416Z id: 39f5e536-d1a6-429b-947d-1a3ac497c03d name: hello-test2.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2026-04-01T09:21:47.585Z id: 46322e0f-026c-4b9d-ab1f-d15d7013c6c6 name: hello-test.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2026-04-01T07:23:47.576Z id: 8199ab8c-7897-461e-8a85-329d3eb22568 name: nekode-notarize.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2026-04-01T05:49:10.593Z id: 410ebd83-8f7d-436a-b30e-2106e9847b2a name: nekode-notarize.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2026-04-01T05:48:52.555Z id: 3d096415-46f9-4743-9dee-692f1c359249 name: nekode-notarize.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2026-03-31T20:07:52.318Z id: a0e2e5a5-e0ea-4815-86d4-d1c335c4680a name: nekode-notarize.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2026-03-31T20:07:15.593Z id: 1684585c-c454-479d-add6-7fd33ae8da2a name: nekode-notarize.zip status: In Progress notarytool log returns "Submission log is not yet available" for all submissions, indicating Apple's backend has not started processing. Problems when I create a new IOS provisioning profile and reapply it to the app using Xcode to build it
I tried to create a new IOS provisioning profile and re-apply it to the app using Xcode to build it, but I got into trouble. The build is good, but it bounces when running the app. I would appreciate it if you could let me know what to do.

Title: Notarization stuck "In Progress" 24+ hours - new Developer ID account
Team ID: LA64G2ZMY2. Submission f28e6a62-5a46-4554-a4b9-666269b3017f has been "In Progress" for over 24 hours. App is signed with hardened runtime, valid Developer ID certificate, HFS+ DMG format (not APFS - aware of DTS r. 134264492). Codesign verifies clean. All requirements met per Apple documentation. Is notarization provisioning needed for new accounts?
