MDM AppConfig: Configuration Plist Structure Discrepancy (Top-Level 'configuration' Key)
I'm currently implementing a managed app using the new AppConfig specification. I referred to Apple's official documentation: Specifying and decoding a configuration. Based on the example provided in the "Publish your configuration specification" section, I structured my application configuration plist like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>configuration</key> <dict> <key>account</key> <dict> <key>username</key> <string>test user</string> <key>password</key> <string>test 123</string> </dict> <key>domain</key> <string>test example.com</string> </dict> </dict> </plist> When I deployed this configuration via my MDM server, the server reported valid for the activation, configuration and asset (which is the plist), but the configuration did not reflect or apply within my app. My app was unable to retrieve these settings. After some troubleshooting, I found that removing the top-level <key>configuration</key> wrapper resolved the issue. The following plist structure successfully pushed the configuration to my app: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>account</key> <dict> <key>username</key> <string>test user</string> <key>password</key> <string>test 123</string> </dict> <key>domain</key> <string>test example.com</string> </dict> </plist> My question is: Is the inclusion of the <key>configuration</key> wrapper (as shown in the Apple documentation example) incorrect for the current AppConfig implementation? Or is this structure intended for a future release (e.g., iOS 26 or beyond) and the documentation implicitly refers to it, causing confusion for current implementation? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

BUG: "Submit" button not working on Careers site / life critical for many people
this issue is posted on Community multiple times. I am here out of desperation after opening a case on IT support. when a user fills out their application, uploads resume - all of that info is saved. however, when you click "submit," the button does not work. I (along w/tons of other ppl) have tried all the usual remedies: clear cache, try different browsers, try different networks, try different devices - NOTHING WORKS. this is maddening b/c it is affecting my life and career. this is an urgent need. it is also disappointing that there is no tech support for the Careers site! this was confirmed by IT support today, they could not find anything and sent me here instead. please help! I was an apple contractor last year and want to come back but can't even submit my application.

No such module 'DeviceManagement'
I'm working on the companion iOS app for my purpose-built MDM system. when I use the following in a .swift file: import DeviceManagement I get the build issue: No such module 'DeviceManagement' When I attempt to add the framework in the Frameworks, Libraries, and Embedded Content settings, DeviceManagement doesn't even show up in the available frameworks. Alll the documentation I can find suggests that is the correct framework to import, but I'm new to this and not sure if I'm just missing something. Some AI help is suggesting that the culprit might be v16.x of Xcode, but I don't know enough to prove that correct or not. Any ideas on why Xcode believes there is no such module? Is there documentation that might help me learn how to make that framework available for my project?

app to restriction student phone use in schools
I work at a school in NYC and have a software idea that could better support the new NYC phone ban law than current market options (i.e. Yondr pouches). Right now at my school, students and staff scan a QR code upon entering the building to indicate that they are in the building. They scan again on the way out to indicate they've left the building. This is super helpful for attendance, particularly in emergency situations (fire drills, etc). Imagine if when students scanned their QR code, it also activated an app similar to Opal or ScreenZen, but with an admin preset whitelisted apps. The idea is that this app would default deny access to all apps on students' phones except the admin preset whitelisted ones such as Phone, Calculator, etc. Depending on the age/needs of the student, other apps like Spotify, or medical apps could also be whitelisted. My question is -- is this idea possible to create? We would need admin preset controls to create the preset whitelist. We can't have students picking their own restrictions, as we know most would opt to not restrict at all. We would need an admin dashboard so teachers/admin can see which students have activated the app in the building, and which may be trying to sneakily avoid it. We would ideally need to be able to whitelist both system apps like Phone and Calculator, as well as non-system apps such as Spotify (and medical apps -- we have some students who manage/monitor their Diabetes with an app). I don't have a background in software. I'm a math and health teacher. I've experimented with trying to have friends who majored in CS to create this app for me, but they've all either struggled/lost interest. So I'm also looking for a business partner in this venture. If anyone has any guidance here, it would be so helpful! My boss (Head of School) is super interested in this idea and significantly prefers it to every other alternative that he has encountered. The problem is this idea does not exist yet! Note: I know this is a super similar idea to the app and product "Brick". Notably, though, Brick does not have the ability for admin preset controls, or the admin dashboard. We reached out to the company to see if they're create this for us and they said it's a back burner idea that they're aware of, but it's not a priority for them right now. Thank you for any guidance!

Guidance on Integrating with Apple GSX API
Hello all, I’m hoping someone here has gone through the process of integrating an ERP system with the Apple GSX API and can offer some guidance. We’re currently working with an AASP who asked us to integrate our ERP with the Apple GSX API. It’s the first time for both of us, and we’re a bit stuck on how to properly get started. The AASP contacted their regional manager, who confirmed that an NDA and an Apple Developer Account would be necessary. However, he hasn’t handled this type of integration before and is still seeking internal guidance. That was a few months ago, and due to his workload, the AASP hasn’t heard back from him yet. Meanwhile, we’ve already enrolled in the Apple Developer Program and opened a support case, but we’ve been redirected to the forums since our case goes beyond standard support. So now we’re trying to understand: What steps need to be completed by the AASP? What are the steps we, as the ERP provider, need to take in order to receive API access? Are there any specific documents, applications, or technical requirements we should prepare in advance? We’d really appreciate any guidance or insight from others who have gone through this process — or even partial answers to help us move forward. Thanks in advance for your time!

Azure AD Graph API retirement and Apple Internet Accounts
Microsoft are retiring the “Azure AD Graph API”. We allow the use of Apple email apps in our M365 tenant via the “Apple Internet Accounts” Entra ID Enterprise Application, however this is using the “User.Read” permission from this retiring “Azure AD Graph API”. My concern is that Apple email app’s will stop working in our tenant when Microsoft retire the “Azure AD Graph API” and this permission is removed, as this is an Apple managed Enterprise Application, we have no method of changing the permissions ourselves. I have not been able to find any information on how the “Apple Internet Accounts” Entra ID Enterprise Application can be updated to use the required, newer “Microsoft Graph API” “User.Read” permission. It is not possible for us to change the permissions on the “Apple Internet Accounts” Entra ID Enterprise Application in our tenant, my assumption is that Apple would need to deploy a newer version of Email app that uses the newer “Microsoft Graph API” “User.Read” permission, and we would then need to consent the use of this new permission in our tenant. I would have thought Apple would have deploy this by now, but we have not seen any consent requests. Does anyone have any information about how Apple are handling this Microsoft change and how we can pre-emptively update the “Apple Internet Accounts” Entra ID Enterprise Application to ensure that Apple email client continue to work in our tenant? Many thanks.

Intune SDK Integration for Some Apple iOS Apps
The question: Is there any chance that Apple will integrate Intune SDK into Apple apps such as Mail or Calendar, or create Siri-compatible Intune SDK-integrated versions of Mail and Calendar? The reason for the question: My team has been asked by VIPs in our company (e.g. execs and board members) if Siri can be used with Outlook, and the only way is through Shortcuts or by adding the Outlook account to Mail. Both of these options would violate our security policies for these reasons: Since our company policy and federal regulations don't permit us to allow access to company resources on non-MAM-protected apps, we can't allow our users to login to the Mail app and make full use of Siri, due to the lack of MAM controls for Mail and Calendar. We only allow users to transfer data between policy-managed apps which have integrated the Intune SDK allowing us to enforce DLP and other security measures. The only way to enable Shortcuts would be to disable these security measures.

Signing Certificates for MDM Configuration Profiles
Subject: Questions Regarding Signing Certificates for MDM Configuration Profiles Dear all, I hope this message finds you well. I have some questions regarding the signing certificates used for MDM configuration profiles. Currently, our company uses an SSL certificate to sign MDM configuration profiles. However, with the announcement that the validity period of SSL certificates will gradually be shortened starting in 2026, we are considering alternative options for signing certificates. Through our internal testing and investigation, we have found examples of the following certificate chains being used: ・Developer ID - G1 (Expiring 02/01/2027 22:12:15 UTC) + Developer ID Application certificate chain ・Apple Root CA + Apple Worldwide Developer Relations Intermediate Certificate + MDM CSR certificate chain We would appreciate any insights or experiences you can share regarding the following points: Apple Support previously advised that "certificates issued by public certificate authorities (CAs) trusted by Apple" are recommended. The certificates listed at https://www.apple.com/certificateauthority/ are typically preinstalled on Apple devices. Are these considered "trusted public CAs" by Apple in this context? Is it acceptable in practice to use a certificate obtained from the “Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles” section on aninterestingwebsite.com for signing MDM configuration profiles? We would be grateful to hear about any real-world experiences. If the answer to question 2 is yes, which certificate type within “Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles” would be most appropriate for signing configuration profiles? If using certificates from question 2 is not suitable, are there alternative certificate types (other than SSL) that are valid for longer periods (e.g., more than one year) and appropriate for signing MDM configuration profiles? Apple's official documents do not seem to clearly specify what type of certificate should be used to sign MDM configuration profiles. If you know of any helpful documents or resources related to this topic, we would greatly appreciate it if you could share them. Thank you very much for your time and support. We would truly appreciate any advice or guidance you can provide.

Can't start Ad Hoc .ipa for iOS 12
Hi, We're having problems starting an Ad Hoc ipa on an iPad with iOS 12.7.7 and 12.7.8. The iPad's UUID has been added to the provisioning profile. The iPad that we are trying to start the app on is online, so Apple's certificate validation server should be reachable. We don't have any problems with iOS versions above iOS 12. The .ipa was built using the latest version of Xcode (26.2, build 17C52). Understanding allowedExternalIntelligenceWorkspaceIDs in MDM Payload – What ID is expected?
Hello, We're testing the new allowedExternalIntelligenceWorkspaceIDs key in the MDM Restrictions payload on supervised iPads. According to Apple's documentation, this key expects an "external integration workspace ID", but it's not clear what this specifically refers to. We've tried the following IDs individually (one at a time, as documentation says only one is supported currently): OpenAI Organization ID ChatGPT user email Apple ID used in ChatGPT Google ID used in ChatGPT login The profile installs correctly via MDM and the key is set, but we want to confirm: What exactly is considered a valid "external integration workspace ID" for this key? Is there a way to verify that the restriction is working as intended on the device (e.g. does it limit specific integrations or apps)? Is there an official list of services that currently support this? Any clarification from Apple or other developers with experience on this would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Ads to be used in Kids apps
"If your app includes any links outside the app, or offers any in-app or other purchasing opportunities, make sure these are behind a parental gate" Super Awesome and Kidoz are proving with a parental gate on ad click and they also claim that all ads are manually approved (another criteria for ads in Kids apps). So these two are the only ad networks we can use moving forward. Or we can use ad networks like Admob as well? I dont intend not to be in Kids category - so leaving Kids category is not a choice.

Configure a per-app VPN aways on (kill switch)
Hi guys, I need to configure a VPN to work only for specific apps. I already have a supervised iPhone, and I’ve successfully configured the VPN, but right now it applies to the whole phone. I need it to work just for some apps. I tried using both Apple Configurator and iMazing, but I can’t find this option there.
