apple-app-site-association file 404 problem
We put the apple-app-site-association file at https://ourdomain.com.tr/.well-known/apple-app-site-association. When we send a request to url, we get 200 response code every time and we can see the file. But sometimes when we try to access https://app-site-association.cdn-apple.com/a/v1/ourdomain.com.tr url with browser or CMD tool, we are facing with 404 response code. There isn't any ip adress filter in our systems and we tried using vpn for sending same request from different locations(america and europe) but nothing changed. In addition, can anyone provide the ip list of apple cdn servers to check the F5 Load balancer WAF logs? Receive Custom URL Parameters
Hello! I’m trying to handle custom URLs (e.g., customurl://open?param=value) that open the app. However, while the app launches via the custom URL as expected, the parameters are not being passed to or are accessible from the iOS-specific implementation. Currently, if I open a custom URL via Safari, the app gets launched but the custom URL and parameters are not accessible. customurl://open?hello=test According to the iOS Docs ( https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/xcode/defining-a-custom-url-scheme-for-your-app#Handle-incoming-URLs ) any URLs should be passed to: func application(_ application: UIApplication, open url: URL, options: [UIApplication.OpenURLOptionsKey : Any] = [:] ) -> Bool I do not register the above application function to be called but instead this one is executed during app start with launchOptions always being nil: func application(_ application: UIApplication, didFinishLaunchingWithOptions launchOptions: [UIApplication.LaunchOptionsKey : Any]? = nil) -> Bool This is the case regardless of if the App is started fresh or was already running in the background. My pInfo entry for the custom URL: <key>CFBundleURLTypes</key> <array> <dict> <key>CFBundleTypeRole</key> <string>Viewer</string> <key>CFBundleURLName</key> <string>dev.customurl.project</string> <key>CFBundleURLSchemes</key> <array> <string>customurl</string> </array> </dict> <dict/> </array> TLDR: How can I access the parameters, passed with the URL? Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?

Inquiry Regarding the Scope of DeclaredAgeRange Acquisition
We are integrating Apple’s DeclaredAgeRange SDK. To comply with relevant regulatory requirements, our understanding is as follows: The app is only required to obtain the declared age range for users located in Texas. For users outside of Texas, we should not proactively request age range information. Accordingly, we would like to confirm the following: Are we required to present the age range request prompt to all users in the United States? If yes, we are concerned that this may significantly impact the overall user experience. If it is permissible to request age range only for Texas users, how can we reliably determine whether a user is located in Texas on the client side? For example, does Apple provide an API or recommended method for accurately identifying a user’s region (specifically Texas)?

WatchOS app not downloaded from appstore
This is a bit of a headscratcher. Xcode 16 fyi. I've written a standalone watchos app (with a stub ios app). Distributes and works perfectly over Testflight. I've submitted for app store and it passed the checks an I've released it for sale. Told my brother to use a promo code to download it and show me how it looks and report me any nuisances. He tells me there's no app neither on phone (expected) nor in watch. And he checked both the Watch ios app list and the watch. I've gone through various GPTs and they've all told me the basic troubleshooting. That his watch might not be supported (wrong, it's a watch 10 ultra with latest updates and my min supported versions are hilariously low). They've suggested that I might not have the right keys for making it standalone set, also no. They suggested that skip_install shouldn't be set to no; also wrong I think they're thinking xcode 13 and below. The stub ios app has a dependency on watchos app and also has an embed directive. I also checked the archive and saw the watchos app embedded indeed. Again, the app works perfectly fine when distributed over testflight. And AFAIK that's a release build which I know for a fact because I had a problem with not giving healthkit entitlements to release (that was another but minor headscratcher at the time, when it was working over direct xcode upload). Minor detail, I've written, test(flight)ed the app in UK and in English, my brother is in Turkey. Of course now I immediately pulled the app out of sale because I don't want people paying and getting nothing, that's gonna cause a lot of trouble. So I need any help I can get to How to debug this without exposing the app and myself: is it possible to limit the release? Obviously: what could be going wrong? How the hell did I even pass app review? Is this maybe isolated to my brother's watch? I'm more than happy to share project files and/or info.plist files(end products of them, because my plists are generated from project file).

How to learn most recent best practices?
Hello. Background: Most learning resources are for leaning Swift/Objective-C. I'm pretty sure I need something different. I'm already an experienced software engineer, just new to iOS/MacOS development. My problem is not learning the language, but rather how to learn modern best practices. I cannot find examples for what I'm looking for. So much seems to be sparse on implementation details, out of date, or both. I'm trying to write an app that has a few distinct parts. The UI portion will be mostly a menu bar app, which I am not having a problem discovering resources for how to implement. The app will also have a daemon and utilize network extensions. This is where I am having trouble. What's the current best practices on how to write and launch a daemon? Should the daemon be its own library/package which is them imported into the main app? If so, which Xcode template do I use for this? Are there any Hello World! examples of this? What is the best way for a UI app to communicate with a daemon? Are there any Hello World! repositories on how to implement network extensions? Should this be done in the main UI app, or in a separate library/package? TIA

WeatherKit API inaccessible for some users
Hi All, I’m puzzled by this issue: my app uses WeatherKit to fetch hourly UV-index and temperature forecasts. The same build, running on the latest iOS, succeeds on most devices but consistently fails on a few. Strangely, the paired Apple Watch version retrieves the data without problems. Could WeatherKit be applying per-user throttling? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

FamilyActivityPicker Crashing / Freezing
Our users report frequent crashes with the FamilyActivityPicker. Since this is a screen controlled by Apple, I'm assuming that there's nothing I can do to prevent these crashes. I'm wondering, though, if there's any way to gracefully handle these crashes? When this happens, the following is printed to the console: [com.apple.FamilyControls.ActivityPickerExtension(1121)] Connection to plugin invalidated while in use. Does anyone know how to handle/catch this error?

Voip Notifaction in Background
My app uses CallKit and PushKit for real-time voice and video calls. I want to configure VoIP push notifications so incoming calls can wake the app, even when it’s in the background or terminated. Right now, I only see the normal Push Notifications option in my App ID settings and no VoIP Services section.

Does Contact Provider supports Localize when ask Permission
When I call https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/contactprovider/contactprovidermanager/enable() to request to use Contact Provider, I received a dialog with message like this "App Name would like to add its contacts as its own list. Contacts added this way can be removed from settings". I would like to support this message in Japanese or other languages. Is it possible?

SensorKit Speech data question
We are a research team conducting a study collecting subject's SensorKit speech data, and we've encountered some questions we couldn't resolve ourselves or by looking up the online SensorKit documentation: Microphone Activation: In general, how is the microphone being turned on to capture a speech session? And how was each session determined to be an independent session? Negative Values: In the speech classification data, there are entries where some of the start and end values are negative (see screenshot below). How should we interpret and handle these values? Is it safe to filter them out? Duplicated sessions: From the same screenshot you can see there are multiple session identifiers linked to the same subject with the same timestamp - what does this represent? Another Negative Values: The same question for speech recognition data's average pause duration, what does the -1 mean and should we remove them as well? (Note that these screenshot got rid of subject IDs for privacy purposes but each screenshot was from one subject.) We greatly appreciate your time and help.

Sharing a JPEG via Action or Share Extension fails in Photos on macOS
We have a Share Extension that fails in Photos on macOS when trying to share a JPEG image for the following reason: From the NSItemProvider we get from the NSExtensionItem.attachments, we try to load the image using loadFileRepresentation(forTypeIdentifier: “public.image”, completionHandler: …). This fails for .jpeg images in the library. There seems to be a mismatch in expected and actual file extension internally. Here is the log: Error copying file type public.image. Error: Error Domain=NSItemProviderErrorDomain Code=-1000 "Cannot load representation of type public.jpeg" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Cannot load representation of type public.jpeg, NSUnderlyingError=0x1527c1a80 {Error Domain=NSItemProviderErrorDomain Code=-1 "Cannot copy file at URL file:///Users/frank/Library/Containers/com.apple.Photos/Data/tmp/TemporaryItems/ShareKit-Exports/7CCFA760-AAC9-42B0-812D-68F051ED1543/F912E593-2BE5-4E70-86AB-7657A40657E5/IMG_3517.jpg." Error: Undefined error: 0}}}}}``` In the specified folder, there is an image, however, it’s named IMG_3517.jpeg, not IMG_3517.jpg. This seems to be a bug in Photo’s item provider implementation. If we use loadObject(ofClass: URL.self, completionHandler: …) instead, we get the correct .jpeg URL in the completion handler.

How to open up an extension point to a third-party app (extension)
According to the documentation, using Scope(restriction: .none) can expose the extension point to third-party app extensions. Below is my implementation, which ultimately results in an error. Code for declaring the extension point: @available(iOS 26.0, *) extension AppExtensionPoint { @Definition static var priceExtension: AppExtensionPoint { Name("priceExtension") UserInterface(false) Scope(restriction: .none) } } Code for locating the extension point: monitor = try await AppExtensionPoint.Monitor(appExtensionPoint: .priceExtension) When executing the code to locate the extension point, the following error occurs: However, in practice, I found that declaring the extension point in this way results in an error when trying to locate it: Error Domain=com.apple.extensionKit.errorDomain Code=19 "Failed to add observer" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Failed to add observer}

ContactAccessButton presents invisible sheet
On a device with approx 800 contacts, the sheet presented when tapping ContactAccessButton with multiple matches briefly appears (.25 seconds) before disappearing, leaving the view below in a dimmed, slightly zoomed out, non-interactive state as if a sheet were being presented. Swiping down dismisses the invisible sheet returns the underlying view to a normal state. Is there a way to avoid this? iMessages Deeplink App Switching for iOS 26.0
Ok so for some background, our app has a keyboard extension where we run a dictation service. Due to iOS limitations, this requires the user to press a button on the keyboard which will then bring the user to our app to activate an audio session. Once the audio session has been activated, it takes the user back to the original app it came from to continue using the keyboard + dictation service. The problem we're running into involves iOS 26.0 and the iMessages app. Whenever our app tries to switch back to the iMessages app using Deep Link (specifically the messages:// URL), the iMessages app opens up a new message compose sheet. This compose sheet replaces the view or message thread that the user was previously looking at which we don't want. This behavior appears to be only happening in iOS 26 and not in any of the previous iOS versions (tested up to iOS 18.6). We know that it should be possible to bring the user back to the messages app without opening up this new compose sheet, because similar apps do the same thing and these apps have been verified to work on iOS 26. We've tried also using the sms:// URL but that always opens a new message compose sheet regardless of whether or not it's iOS 26.0.

BadDeviceToken Error in Live Activities
Hello everyone, I’m currently receiving feedback from clients in a production environment who are encountering a BadDeviceToken error with Live Activities, which is preventing their states from updating. However, for other clients, the token is working fine and everything functions as expected. I’m collaborating with the back-end developers to gather more information about this issue, but the only log message we’re seeing is: Failed to send a push, APNS reported an error: BadDeviceToken I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could provide some insight or information on how to resolve this issue.

Issues Handling Multiple Incoming Calls in CallKit
Certainly! Here's a concise version of your forum post: Title: Issues Handling Multiple Incoming Calls in CallKit Body: Hello, I'm using CallKit and I am encountering challenges with handling multiple incoming calls. Current Configuration: configuration.maximumCallsPerCallGroup = 5 configuration.maximumCallGroups = 3 This setup aims to allow up to 5 calls per group. Observed Behavior: Despite the configuration, the system UI seems to limit the number of calls per group, often defaulting to "End & Accept" instead of "Hold & Accept" when a third call comes in. Questions: Is there a documented system-imposed limit on the number of calls per group or total calls, even if maximumCallGroups and maximumCallsPerCallGroup are set higher? How does the system UI behave when these limits are exceeded? Are there known UI constraints or fallback behaviors? Are there best practices for handling scenarios where the system UI cannot display all calls, such as gracefully managing incoming calls or providing alternative UI solutions? Any insights or experiences with similar configurations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Feel free to copy and paste this directly into the Apple Developer Forums. If you need further assistance or adjustments, let me know!

Applinks failing
Hello, We're facing an issue with app links failing and falling back to browser website journeys. Our apple-app-site-association file is hosted publicly and the app to app journeys have been working correctly up to very recently - we are trying to identify any potential network infra changes that could have impacted the Apple CDN being able to retrieve the apple-app-site-association file. We can see in the iPhone OS logs that the links cannot be verified by the swcd process, and using the app-site-association.cdn-apple.com/a/v1 api via curl can also see the CDN has no record of the AASA file. Due to the traffic being SSL and to a high volume enterprise site it is difficult for use to trace activity through anything other that the source IPs - we cannot filter on user-agent for "AASA-Bot/1.0.0" as breaking the SSL would be impactful due to the load. Is it possible to get a network range used by the Apple CDN to retrieve the AASA file as this would help us identify potential blocking behaviour? Thank you.

Contacts: remove member from group not working on macOS
Hi, In my app, I have an option to remove a contact from a contact group (using the Contacts framework), and it's been working fine till recently users of the macOS version reported that it's not working. I have been using the CNSaveRequest removeMember(contact, from: group) API. The same API works fine on iOS. I'm not sure when it started but it seems to be affecting macOS14.6 as well as 15.1. I was able to reproduce it in a small test project as well, and have the same experience (the API works on iOS but not on macOS), so it definitely seems like a problem with the framework. Can someone confirm this, and/or suggest a workaround? Here's the code I run to test it out ...a simple SwiftUI view that has 4 buttons: Create contact and group Add contact to group Remove contact from group (optional) cleanup by deleting contact and group It's the 3rd step that seems to fail on macOS, but works fine on iOS. Here's the code to test it out: struct ContentView: View { let contactsModel = ContactsStoreModel() var body: some View { VStack (alignment: .center, spacing: 15){ Button ("1. Add Contact And Group") { print("add contact button pressed") contactsModel.addTestContact() if let _ = contactsModel.createdContact { print("created contact success") } } Button ("2. Add Contact To Group") { print("add to group button pressed") contactsModel.addContactToGroup() } Button ("3. Remove Contact From Group") { print("remove from group button pressed") contactsModel.removeContactFromGroup() } Button ("4. Delete Contact and Group") { print("remove from group button pressed") contactsModel.deleteContactAndGroup() } } .padding() } } #Preview { ContentView() } @available(iOS 13.0, *) @objc final class ContactsStoreModel: NSObject, ObservableObject { let contactStore = CNContactStore() var createdContact : CNContact? var createdGroup : CNGroup? public func addTestContact() { let storeContainer = contactStore.defaultContainerIdentifier() let contact = CNMutableContact() contact.givenName = "Testing" contact.familyName = "User" contact.phoneNumbers = [CNLabeledValue(label: "Cell", value: CNPhoneNumber(stringValue: "1234567890"))] let group = CNMutableGroup() group.name = "Testing Group" print("create contact id = \(contact.identifier)") print("create group id = \(group.identifier)") do { let saveRequest = CNSaveRequest() saveRequest.transactionAuthor = "TestApp" saveRequest.add(contact, toContainerWithIdentifier: storeContainer) saveRequest.add(group, toContainerWithIdentifier: storeContainer) try contactStore.execute(saveRequest) createdContact = contact createdGroup = group } catch { print("error in store execute = \(error)") } } public func addContactToGroup() { if let contact = createdContact, let group = createdGroup { do { let saveRequest = CNSaveRequest() saveRequest.transactionAuthor = "TestApp" saveRequest.addMember(contact, to: group) try contactStore.execute(saveRequest) } catch { print("error in store execute = \(error)") } } } public func removeContactFromGroup() { if let contact = createdContact, let group = createdGroup { do { let saveRequest = CNSaveRequest() saveRequest.transactionAuthor = "TestApp" saveRequest.removeMember(contact, from: group) try contactStore.execute(saveRequest) } catch { print("error in store execute = \(error)") } } } public func addGroupAndContact() { let storeContainer = contactStore.defaultContainerIdentifier() let group = CNMutableGroup() group.name = "Test Group" print("create group id = \(group.identifier)") if let contact = createdContact { do { let saveRequest = CNSaveRequest() saveRequest.transactionAuthor = "TestApp" saveRequest.add(group, toContainerWithIdentifier: storeContainer) saveRequest.addMember(contact, to: group) try contactStore.execute(saveRequest) createdGroup = group } catch { print("error in store execute = \(error)") } } } public func deleteContactAndGroup() { if let contact = createdContact, let group = createdGroup { do { let mutableGroup = group.mutableCopy() as! apple-app-site-association file 404 problem

According to the documentation, using Scope(restriction: .none) can expose the extension point to third-party app extensions. Below is my implementation, which ultimately results in an error. Code for declaring the extension point: @available(iOS 26.0, *) extension AppExtensionPoint { @Definition static var priceExtension: AppExtensionPoint { Name("priceExtension") UserInterface(false) Scope(restriction: .none) } } Code for locating the extension point: monitor = try await AppExtensionPoint.Monitor(appExtensionPoint: .priceExtension) When executing the code to locate the extension point, the following error occurs: However, in practice, I found that declaring the extension point in this way results in an error when trying to locate it: Error Domain=com.apple.extensionKit.errorDomain Code=19 "Failed to add observer" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Failed to add observer}
