Notarize taking 24+ hours to complete
I have been notarizing the same program for 3 years now and it's usually completed in minutes. I have not changed anything on my end, is there a reason it's taking 24+ hours all of a sudden? I have seen the posts regarding this issue for new applications where it has to "learn", but I have been notarizing the same apps for 3 years now.

Notarization Taking Days
Hello all, I am attempting to notarize my newly made Mac OS application using the notarization command in VS Code. "/Users/teejgotit/Desktop/Cursor Workspace/Rust CutContour v2/cutcontour-app/src-tauri/target/release/bundle/dmg/CC Studio_0.1.0_aarch64.dmg" \ --key "/Users/teejgotit/AppleCerts/AuthKey_MATVLX3.p8" \ --key-id "MATVLX9" \ --issuer "887ba428-aa39-4fb3-a3dc-f83b9145cab0" \ --wait Only to be met with a continual "Current State: In Progress.." for what has been about 1 day and 16 hours now. Current status: In Progress........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ My app and project are rather small and was curious if this is a normal thing for this to day takes for a first time notarization? Would love any help or feedback.

Issue Regarding Notarization
I am trying to notarize a simple app I made, but keep getting stuck on "In Progress". The app is a MacOS app, and I'm using XCode. I've tried all the steps listed in the links below: https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/security/notarizing-macos-software-before-distribution https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/security/resolving-common-notarization-issues I've had the same issue with another app, which got rejected after multiple hours. Never got to resolve this.

Have not been able to notarize for the past 2 days
I haven't been able to notarize my macOS app for the past two days. Now, I believe this is an issue with the notarization process because I've tried notarizing the default app that's provided whenever you open a new Swift application, but that completely failed as well. And I've been waiting for the past two days and it's been stuck on in progress. This is the second time this has happened to me in the past two months and oftentimes I have to wait more than a day or two for the notarization to occur. I just, I don't understand why it's deadlocked like this. I've done nothing. I haven't changed my certificates. I haven't done any different configurations within my Mac. The last time that this happened, the issue went away after two days, but my biggest concern right now is that if this happens whenever we need to urgently push updates, we can't. I have absolutely no idea what to do and I'm just extremely frustrated because this is happening right before our launch day. I've been stuck on notarizing again for the past two days and I've seen no progress, I've seen no responses from support emails and the ones that do aren't even applicable to my current scenario.

Notarization is not ever finishing
Hello, I had a successful attempt at notarization earlier today in my build pipeline. I've been using the same system for building my macOS application for over a year now. However, subsequent builds seemed to fail. I found a couple similar topics which makes this seem not not an isolated incident: https://aninterestingwebsite.com/forums/thread/782950 https://aninterestingwebsite.com/forums/thread/783347 https://aninterestingwebsite.com/forums/thread/783283 In my case I use the following command to submit the notarization: xcrun notarytool submit FilePath.dmg --apple-id "myappleid@gmail.com" --password "redacted_obviously" --team-id "my-team-id" --wait I left a previous run go for over an hour and the "Current status: In Progress.................. etc" filled the whole terminal. I manually checked the progress of the submissions using the command below: xcrun notarytool log --apple-id "myappleid@gmail.com" --password "redacted_obviously_again" --team-id "my-team-id" [run id] And they all result in the following output: Submission log is not yet available or submissionId does not exist Is anyone else experiencing this? Are there any possible solutions?

Notarization Stuck for Signed .pkg Containing Screen Saver
Hey all, I’m experiencing a consistent issue with notarizing a signed .pkg file that contains a macOS screen saver (.saver) bundle. Nothing online so far except 1 thread on the form from the altool time pre-2023 so i thought it worth another update. Here is what I did: I signed the .saver bundle using my Developer ID Application certificate. I packaged it into a .pkg using pkgbuild with my Developer ID Installer certificate: I submitted the resulting .pkg via xcrun notarytool: xcrun notarytool submit saver-name.pkg --apple-id email@email.com --password [app-specific-password] --team-id xxxxxxxxx The submission appears to be accepted and uploads successfully. However, the notarization status remains stuck at “In Progress” for hours (over 12h), with no update. I also tried: Repackaging the .pkg with a new name using a zip Resubmitting it under a new submission ID All attempts are stuck in the same “In Progress” state indefinitely. Did anyone solve this yet?

Notarization via notarytool stuck “In Progress”
Hello everyone, I’m trying to notarize my macOS app (DockIt.zip) using the new notarytool CLI, but every submission remains in In Progress status forever, it never moves to Accepted or Rejected. I’ve tried multiple rebuilds, credential resets, and even the Xcode GUI method, but the result is the same. Environment • macOS 14.x • Xcode 15.x / Command-Line Tools 15.x • Apple ID: afonsocruz.dev@icloud.com (Team ID: 264Z9XKCT6) • Keychain profile: DockItCreds Steps taken 1. zip -r DockIt.zip DockIt.app 2. xcrun notarytool store-credentials DockItCreds --apple-id ... --team-id 264Z9XKCT6 3. xcrun notarytool submit DockIt.zip --keychain-profile DockItCreds --wait 4. xcrun notarytool history --keychain-profile DockItCreds History snapshot 167a9600-5c7c-4bc4-b984-dd967d30e161 (2025-05-19T11:37:59Z) – In Progress 7167f7c8-d448-4b35-9817-055009f2730a (2025-05-19T04:59:34Z) – In Progress 6ef0610a-595f-4c57-b0f2-f5fe783e8679 (2025-05-18T22:04:10Z) – In Progress bddde388-a34a-42c4-afb8-f06f2b0fe8fa (2025-05-17T10:24:07Z) – In Progress Questions Is it normal to stay “In Progress” for so long? Any recent service changes or outages? How can I get more detailed logs? Also, I'm still learning about macOS development and these steps! If there's something obvious and I was not able to see, please, take into consideration! Thanks!

Cannot launch an app sucessfully stapled and validated
Hey, when I try to launch my app it prompts me with a "Apple could not verify" popup. The thing is the app has been signed and stapled. xcrun stapler validate .app for my app returns "The validate action worked!" If I also run syspolicy_check distribution .app it returns: "App passed all pre-distribution checks and is ready for distribution" Any idea?

Notary Tool credentials failing to stay persistently in the keychain
The problem is the following: We create a keychain item called NotaryTool (There are multiple accounts that use Notary tool and we created it for all of them ) This is created in the following way: $ xcrun notarytool store-credentials This process stores your credentials securely in the Keychain. You reference these credentials later using a profile name. Profile name: NotaryTool We recommend using App Store Connect API keys for authentication. If you'd like to authenticate with an Apple ID and app-specific password instead, leave this unspecified. Path to App Store Connect API private key: //AuthKey_ABCDEFGH.p8 App Store Connect API Key ID: <ABCDEFGH> App Store Connect API Issuer ID: ABCDEF-ABCD-1234-1234-1234567 Validating your credentials... Success. Credentials validated. Credentials saved to Keychain. To use them, specify `--keychain-profile "NotaryTool"` The key is downloaded from Apple and some other IDs are provided alongside. These should remain in the keychain for as long as the user process is running (just like any other process) A few runs are successful when we run with the profile that was created. After a few runs we start seeing a failure. Now we are seeing the following issue where the keychain item just vanishes: Error: No Keychain password item found for profile: NotaryTool\n\nRun 'notarytool store-credentials' to create another credential profile.\nError during the not process\nTue Aug 26 06:02:09 2025 Notarization failed with notarytool with exit code 17664: \nTue Aug 26 06:02:09 2025 could not upload for notarization!!!

Notarization time for new developer and new app
I've submitted my app, signed with a new Developer Id Certificate for a distribution outside of the App Store, 88 hours ago. xcrun notarytool history ... Shows the submission as "In Progress". xcrun notarytool log ... Tells me "Submission log is not yet available or submissionId does not exist". I don't know if that's expected for an "In Progress" submission. As far as I can tell the signing worked without problems. I'm using the Tauri toolchain, which under its hood is using notarytool. How long can I expect this to take? If there is a problem with my submission does the status just stay on "In Progress" or do I get an error? Thanks
