I'm trying to fade in the sound used in my alarm app but currently there's no way to achieve this since the alarm sound loops and if i add a fade-in at the beginning of my audio, every time the audio loops the fadein happens.

I see many anti-theft apps already released in the App Store that have a feature to immediately play a loud sound when the charger gets unplugged. I can't find an API to make it work if the app is backgrounded, which is the main point. How can I achieve this?

Steps To reproduce: Login to application and App has joined the PTC channel. Push the application to background and Lock the device. From the System UI press the talk button which will start transmit. Audio Session has been activated and Audio unit has been initialised properly. On terminator side no media is being played out. Issue observed consistently on specific models which has configured audio codec with Stereo type. More details are added : FB20281626

Its possible to add the Declared Age Range entitlement to extensions, in particular I'm looking at a Notification Service Extension. However the DAR requestAgeRange() API takes a view controller as a parameter. Presumably therefore its not possible for a notification service extension to obtain the age range itself directly? Yes the extension can read it from shared groups if the app reads it and set it into the group. However the scenario I'm thinking of is this: App runs and gets the age range. Sets its functionality accordingly. The server sends pushes which are intercepted by the notification service extension, the extension adjusts its functionality based upon what the app wrote to shared groups The user changes the age range setting, but the app doesn't run. The extension keeps receiving pushes but its functionality is now out of sync with the age range as its not able to obtain it directly

I asked a question similar to this earlier, but I think this is probably the better question. I have a food-ordering app. When the user wants to pick up food, I'd like for Apple Maps to automatically display the location of the restaurant that the user is driving to. Calendar does something similar. If there is an event that is soon, the location in the calendar-event shows up in Apple Maps. I'd like to do the same thing. So, when the user makes an order, they'll need to drive to the location fairly quickly. So, I'd like to launch Apple Maps, see the location of the restaurant where I'm picking up food, and then get directions to it. Bonus points if this also works when I have CarPlay.

In the past I was always able to install every major macOS version on an external drive so that I can test my apps. But now I'm unable to install macOS Tahoe 26 on an external drive. Actually, as far as I'm aware, there are not even official links to macOS 26 installers, but only instructions on how to update to macOS 26 from an existing macOS installation. So I thought I'd install macOS 15 on a separate drive and then update to macOS 26, but whenever I run the macOS 15 installer, tell it to install on the external drive, and reboot after the setup process completes, my MacBook just boots into my main macOS partition as if nothing happened. 3 months ago I somehow managed to install macOS Tahoe beta 1 on an external drive, I don't remember how (but I don't think it was anything crazy); booting into that beta 1 partition and trying to update doesn't work either, as my MacBook again boots into my main macOS partition. I already asked help about the update problem one month ago here, but nobody replied. Could someone at Apple please provide instructions on how one is supposed to install macOS 26 on an external drive (if possible before it becomes available to the public)? Are we supposed to buy a separate Mac for every macOS version that we want to test our apps on?

I am still struggling to nail down the screen time between monitoring and showing it in a DeviceActivityReport. It's always off by a couple of percentage points, which results in a difference of a couple of minutes between the time shown for my total screen time in DeviceActivityReport and DeviceActivityMonitor with a threshold set for all apps/websites/categories. In the report, I am looping through all segment (there is only 1 segement using .daily segment interval for a given day) then loop through all categories and all apps within each category and sum up all totalActivityDuration for each app. Based on avaiable documentation, that should corrolate to DeviceActivityMonitor threshold but it doesn't. Are there any differences in how these 2 places count screen time? Are there any apps/core ios services which are excluded from DeviceActivityMonitor. Would appreciate any help at all, I'm losing my mind here. My current suspicion is that Apple Developer documentation is counted twice. i.e. this website https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/deviceactivity/deviceactivitymonitor shows up in usage as an App with bundleId of apple.developer.wwdc-release and time spent there is counted twice, against this bundleId AND Safari. I don't know why it's not counted as a webdomain.

I'm currently experimenting with AlarmKit and, when configuring an alarm with a Relative schedule, but that never repeats, I find that it is still scheduled in the AlarmManager, but the documentation says that an alarm that has no repeat schedule will be removed from the AlarmManager after firing. This behavior is experienced both in my project and with the sample code AlarmKit-ScheduleAndAlert To reproduce, create a non-repeating alarm, and, after firing, it will still be on the list marked as Scheduled Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

I want to offer the user the opportunity to add more stuff to a list in AppIntents, but nothing I've tried "loops back" to the first Siri query. Checked several LLMs and they are suggest using "requestDialog" which doesn't exist, and calling recursively my AppIntent. Is this even possible?

Hello, I am building an iMessage extension for my app and I am struggling to figure out how to test it. The extension allows users to send their friends an interactive widget and the recipient experience is very important to test. I tried to do it in the simulators, but simulators do not support iMessage. I have got a second iPhone and created a sandbox account, but I cannot install TestFlight with the sandbox account, as this feature is not supported. Reddit, Stackoverflow, ChatGPT and Apple Developer support also did not help. Can someone share their experience with testing recipient experience in the iMessage extension?

Hi all, I'm trying to set up universal links for my app but it's not working. What I want: cogover.com → Safari (website) - NOT my app *.cogover.com (any subdomain like abc.cogover.com) → My app What I did: Added applinks:*.cogover.com in Xcode Put AASA files on all subdomains They work fine (checked with curl) Problem: All links still open in Safari, not my app. I do not put AASA on my root domain cogover.com because I don't want open my app with root domain. I have checked TN3155: Debugging universal links | Apple Developer Documentation but it only say about universal link works with both root domain and subdomains. Weird thing I found: I checked how Salesforce does it - their *.force.com subdomains work perfectly. But when I tried to check their setup, (https://force.com/.well-known/apple-app-site-association) doesn't seem to exist either! So how does theirs work? Even stranger - Apple's CDN has their file cached at (https://app-site-association.cdn-apple.com/a/v1/force.com) but the actual domain doesn't serve it. Can Apple's CDN have a file cached even if it's not on the website anymore? Thanks for any help!

Hello Shortcuts community! I want to obtain a list of my notes, and well, update them, delete them if needed, and so on. These are simple actions that I can already do. For this, I saw that shortcuts was pretty simple, and I could get what I wanted and pipe it through the terminal. However, even though I'm a programmer, there's a lot that I'm missing since I cannot pipe anything to the terminal. I made a simple shortcut to give me some text, and I could obtain it via -shortcuts run "Example" | cat-, which well, gave me the output but with a %. aaa**%** Now, I guess this works, the important thing is for me to obtain something from shortcuts so that I can configure simple things like obtaining a note, a mail, run some javascript in the browser and so on while obtaining some output via the terminal. So, I configured something like this: While I do get a dictionary (only in the shortcuts app, not in the terminal) like: { "Title": "Some title" } And actually a list of them, I don't have them in an array that I would have for my command. And for some reason I've only been able to obtain either the name or the body. Now, I put them into a text with get text from Repeated results, but I don't think I have a valid Dictionary (JSON) array that I can use, since the terminal doesn't obtain nothing. I'm not creating the array of dictionaries like I'd like, nor outputting it. I have a public and accessible .well-known/apple-app-site-association file for both my domain.com and subdomain.domain.com with "paths": ["*"] . Both example.com and blog.example.com are added in Associated domains and any link that contains domain.com and domain.com/path normally deep links into my app. I used to have an *.example.com that successfully deep linked all my subdomains into my app but now I had to remove it as some subdomains will need to link to other apps, but some should still link to the same app. I removed * but left blog.example.com as that specific subdomain still needs to deep link into my app. But now blog.example.com is not even being recognized by my app and any link starting with blog.example.com just opens in safari. What am I missing? Why is this happening ?
