Postback copies dev testing with AdAttributionKit
Hello, Having bad times with Development Postback copies receival on our custom server. Current setup: App is configured to be advertised (https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/adattributionkit/configuring-an-advertised-app) AdAttributionKit - Opt in for Reengagement Postback Copies ✅ AdAttributionKit - Postback Copy URL ✅ AdAttributionKit - Ad Network Identifiers ✅ Configured backend https://{name}.com/.well-known/appattribution/report-attribution/ (POST) ✅ Devices with iOS 18.4 (with Postaback Development tool and AdAttribution developer mode Enabled) Tried different Postback setup combinations, with different app builds (debug, release installed from xcode/testflight) and with AdAttribution developer mode Enabled/Disabled - doesn't make any difference. Console log: Found 0 postbacks eligible for transmission for environments: Any advise is very much appreciated

Weatherkit - visibility units and height
reposting this in case it got missed the first time around here https://aninterestingwebsite.com/forums/thread/775900 We had a question that came up when we comparing data from WeatherKit to other sources - WeatherKit visibility was well beyond the boundaries we had historically, even from Darksky. That raises two questions: is visibility actually in meters like the docs say? is this visibility at ground level, 500ft, or some other height? We were seeing visibility numbers of up to 40 miles (after converting the number the API sent to miles), where all of our other sources are usually within 10 miles

What does iOS do wrt Shared Web Credentials when it makes a call to a server to perform a message filter request
In order to create a Message Filter Extension it is necessary to set up Shared Web Credentials. I'd like to form an understanding of what role SWC plays when the OS is making request to the associated network service (when the extension has called deferQueryRequestToNetwork()) and how this differs from when an app directly uses Shared Web Credentials itself. When an app is making direct use of SWC, it makes a request to obtain the user's credentials from the web site. However in the case of a Message Filter Extension, there aren't any individual user credentials, so what is happening behind the scenes when the OS makes a server request on behalf of a Message Filtering Extension? A more general question - the documentation for Shared Web Credentials says "Associated domains establish a secure association between domains and your app.". Thank you

connect() iOS 18.5 Developer Beta (22EF5042g)
Hello! 👋 I am noticing new failures in the iOS 18.5 Developer Beta build (22EF5042g) when calling the system call connect() (from C++ source, in network extension). When using cell/mobile data (Mint & T-Mobile) this returns with EINTR (interrupted system call) right away. When I switch over to wifi, everything works fine. Note: I have not tested on other mobile carriers; which could make a difference since T-Mobile/Mint are IPv6 networks. FWIW, this is working in the previous developer beta (18.4). Anyone have any ideas?

Auto-renewable subscriptions does not work in production
I don't know why the subscription doesn't work in production, the message Subscription Unavailable appears. The subscription is approved in appstoreconnect. Works normally using storekit in xcode, both signing and using subscriber features. According to apple's guidance, first I do the test to validate https://buy.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt and then https://sandbox.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt. Plus I create the app-specific shared secret and put it in the code to validate the receipts. I have looked for several topics and I can not solve this problem. What do I need to do to make it work in production? I believe I did what's in the official documentation.

How is Record Zone Sharing done?
My use case is the following: Every user of my app can create as an owner a set of items. These items are private until the owner invites other users to share all of them as participant. The participants can modify the shared items and/or add other items. So, sharing is not done related to individual items, but to all items of an owner. I want to use CoreData & CloudKit to have local copies of private and shared items. To my understanding, CoreData & CloudKit puts all mirrored items in a special zone „com.apple.coredata.cloudkit.zone“. So, this zone should be shared, i.e. all items in it. In the video it is said that NSPersistentCloudKitContainer uses Record Zone Sharing optionally in contrast to hierarchically record sharing using a root record. But how is this done? Maybe I can declare zone „com.apple.coredata.cloudkit.zone“ as a shared zone?

BLE timeout issue when connecting two devices on iOS 18 (but not iOS 16)
Hi, We’re developing a BLE peripheral device and encountered a connection issue when connecting two devices (Device A and Device B) simultaneously to an iOS device. Problem: On iOS 18, we are experiencing occasional BLE timeouts and disconnections when both devices are connected at the same time. On iOS 16, we did not encounter this issue under the same conditions. What we’ve tried: Adjusted the connection interval from 30ms to 15ms. This seems to have improved stability somewhat. However, we still observe intermittent timeout/disconnection issues. Questions: Are there any known changes in BLE connection handling or timing constraints in iOS 18? Are there recommended connection parameter settings (interval, latency, timeout, etc.) for multi-device BLE connections in iOS? Is there a way to debug or log more details about the disconnection reasons on the iOS side? Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

App crashed on [ +[NSObject(NSObject) _copyDescription] ], however could not get why.
Hi All my app randomly crash on very rare case. when bring app into foreground I checked the code: { NSError *error = nil; if (![sender authenticateWithPassword:MyManager.sharedManager.service.authToken.accessToken error:&error]) { ... ... ... } } accessToken is NSString type, was that because accessToken is deallocated? packet-tunnel-provider-systemextension doesn't work
I am currently creating a MacOS app that uses NetworkExtension and SystemExtension without going through the Store. Using entitlements, I manually codesign and create a pkg Installer, but when I run it I get an error message saying "No matching profile found." Below is the log /Applications/Runetale.app/Contents/MacOS/Runetale not valid: Error Domain=AppleMobileFileIntegrityError Code=-413 "No matching profile found" UserInfo={NSURL=file:///Applications/Runetale.app/, unsatisfiedEntitlements=<CFArray 0x71c040fa0 [0x1f7bec120]>{type = immutable, count = 3, values = ( 0 : <CFString 0x71c04f340 [0x1f7bec120]>{contents = "com.apple.developer.system-extension.install"} 1 : <CFString 0x71c1ccaf0 [0x1f7bec120]>{contents = "com.apple.developer.networking.networkextension"} 2 : <CFString 0x71c04fc00 [0x1f7bec120]>{contents = "com.apple.developer.team-identifier"} )}, NSLocalizedDescription=No matching profile found} I looked into it myself and found that if you want to install the app without going through the Store, you need to use packet-tunnel-provider-systemextension instead of packet-tunnel-provider. here However, simply changing to packet-tunnel-provider-systemextension does not allow the build to pass. I use a build method that changes the value of entitlements only during codesign in order to pass the build. SYSEXT="$APP_BUNDLE/Contents/Library/SystemExtensions/com.runetale.desktop.PacketTunnel.systemextension" if [ -d "$SYSEXT" ]; then echo "Signing PacketTunnel system extension with entitlements..." cp macos/PacketTunnel/PacketTunnelRelease.entitlements macos/PacketTunnel/PacketTunnelRelease-sign.entitlements sed -i '' 's/packet-tunnel-provider/packet-tunnel-provider-systemextension/' macos/PacketTunnel/PacketTunnelRelease-sign.entitlements codesign --force --options runtime --timestamp --entitlements "$ENTITLEMENTS_FILE" --sign "$DEV_ID_APP_CERT" "$SYSEXT" fi # 3. Sign the entire .app bundle (deep sign by signing the outer app after inner ones) echo "Signing Runetale App with entitlements..." cp macos/Runner/Release.entitlements macos/PacketTunnel/Release-sign.entitlements sed -i '' 's/packet-tunnel-provider/packet-tunnel-provider-systemextension/' macos/PacketTunnel/Release-sign.entitlementsmacos/PacketTunnel/Release-sign.entitlements codesign --force --options runtime --timestamp --entitlements "$APP_ENTITLEMENTS_FILE" --sign "$DEV_ID_APP_CERT" "$APP_BUNDLE" Is this build method wrong? The next solution I'm thinking of is as follows. Is there a way to write packet-tunnel-provider-systemextension directly to entitlments and pass the build? (provisioning profile?) Apply to forum and get permission to use packet-tunnel-provider-systemextension Thank you.

How to debug a CoreSpotlight extension?
My CoreSpotlight extension seems to exceed the 6 MB memory limit. What’s the best way to debug this? I've tried to attach the debugger on the Simulator but the extension seems to be never launched when I trigger the reindex from Developer settings. Is this supposed to work? On device, I am able to attach the debugger. However, I can neither transfer the debug session to Instruments, nor display the memory graph. So I've no idea how the memory is used. Any recommendations how to move forward? Is there a way to temporarily disable the memory limit since even with LLDB attached, the extension is killed.

Can't connect to websocket from macOS game template
Hi, I'm trying to setup a simple websocket connection from the project game template. Using NWWebSocket 0.5.4 or urlSession.webSocketTask on the client and Vapor on the server. Haven't been able to connect since macOS ~14-15 with the same Xcode settings. I can send HTTP routes but the websocket itself does not connect. The closest I've got is connect but then immediate disconnect. I know the websocket works with CLI. Have plist allowing arbitrary loads and local networking. Also App Sandbox with network boxes checked in Debug mode. The error I get is: Error receiving: Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1011 "There was a bad response from the server." UserInfo={NSErrorFailingURLStringKey=http://localhost:8090/echo, NSErrorFailingURLKey=http://localhost:8090/echo, _NSURLErrorWebSocketHandshakeFailureReasonKey=5, NSLocalizedDescription=There was a bad response from the server.} Failed to send message: Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1011 "There was a bad response from the server." Thanks.

Hide OS logs coming out of the Network framework (category: com.apple.network)
I'm establishing a connection with NWListener and NWConnection which is working great. However, if the listener disappears, a lot of logs are appearing: Is there a way to hide these logs? I'm aware of OS_ACTIVITY_MODE=disabled, but that will also hide a lot of other logs. I also know you can hide these using Xcode's filtering. I'm looking for a programmatically way to hide these completely. I'm not interested in seeing these at all, or, at least, I want to be in control. Thanks!

iOS 18.5 update live streaming bug
Our app supports live streaming (RTSP, RTMP, WebRTC) functionality. After updating to the 18.5 Developer Beta version, we’ve encountered an issue where streaming over LTE is not working for customers using SKT (SK Telecom) as their carrier. Upon investigation, it seems that a similar issue might be occurring with a streaming service app called "SOOP." I would appreciate it if you could share any information regarding this bug. Thank you.

Real time collaboration app
Good day, this is a concept maybe newbie question… what would be the best approach to develop the real time app… what I want is to be able to connect one device to other one within the app, and for example, if the app has a draggable object, then if one user drags the object, the other user see the object moving in real time I his own device, maybe using a ghost mode when interacting… this way both users using the app can interact with the objects in real-time. It’s not a game, so there’s no score… could I use gamecenter? or multipeer connectivity over BT? Is there a native framework? wich would be the easiest and less battery and system consuming approach someone could suggest? thank you in advance….

Connecting to a service found by Bonjour isn't working.
I'm using NWBrowser to search for a server that I hosted. The browser does find my service but when it tries to connect to it, it gets stuck in the preparing phase in NWConnection.stateUpdateHandler. When I hardcode the local IP address of my computer (where the server is hosted) into NWConnection it works perfectly fine and is able to connect. When it gets stuck in the preparing phase, it gives me the warnings and error messages in the image below. You can also see that the service name is correct and it is found. I have tried _http._tcp and _ssh._tcp types and neither work. This is what my code looks like: func findServerAndConnect(port: UInt16) { print("Searching for server...") let browser = NWBrowser(for: .bonjour(type: "_ssh._tcp", domain: "local."), using: .tcp) browser.browseResultsChangedHandler = { results, _ in print("Found results: \(results)") for result in results { if case let NWEndpoint.service(name, type_, domain, interface) = result.endpoint { if name == "PocketPadServer" { print("Found service: \(name) of type \(type_) in domain \(domain) on interface \(interface)") // Construct the full service name, including type and domain let fullServiceName = "\(name).\(type_).\(domain)" print("Full service name: \(fullServiceName), \(result.endpoint)") self.connect(to: result.endpoint, port: port) browser.cancel() break } } } } browser.start(queue: .main) } func connect(to endpoint: NWEndpoint, port: UInt16) { print("Connecting to \(endpoint) on port \(port)...") // endpoint = NWEndpoint( let tcpParams = NWProtocolTCP.Options() tcpParams.enableFastOpen = true tcpParams.keepaliveIdle = 2 let params = NWParameters(tls: nil, tcp: tcpParams) params.includePeerToPeer = true // connection = NWConnection(host: NWEndpoint.Host("xx.xxx.xxx.xxx"), port: NWEndpoint.Port(3000), using: params) connection = NWConnection(to: endpoint, using: params) connection?.pathUpdateHandler = { path in print("Connection path update: \(path)") if path.status == .satisfied { print("Connection path is satisfied") } else { print("Connection path is not satisfied: \(path.status)") } } connection?.stateUpdateHandler = { newState in DispatchQueue.main.async { switch newState { case .ready: print("Connected to server") self.pairing = true self.receiveMessage() case .failed(let error): print("Connection failed: \(error)") self.isConnected = false case .waiting(let error): print("Waiting for connection... \(error)") self.isConnected = false case .cancelled: print("Connection cancelled") self.isConnected = false case .preparing: print("Preparing connection...") self.isConnected = false default: print("Connection state changed: \(newState)") break } } } connection?.start(queue: .main) }

Accessing external files from fskit module
I have my both app and fskit sandboxed <key>com.apple.security.app-sandbox</key> <true/> Which means that I can read files only in app container. First, is sandboxing required for fskit modules? Second, there are docs which implies that it's possible to explicitly allow fskit module to access external files, by passing their paths to mount params. https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/fskit/fstaskoptions/url(foroption:) and also options: Options to apply to the activation. These can include security-scoped file paths. There are no defined options currently. I've tried this, but haven't success. My Info.plist is <key>FSActivateOptionSyntax</key> <dict> <key>shortOptions</key> <string>g:m:</string> <key>pathOptions</key> <dict> <key>m</key> <string>file</string> <key>g</key> <string>directory</string> </dict> </dict> I'm mounting with mount -F -t MyFS -o -m=./build.sh,-g=./ /dev/disk5 /tmp/TestVol Getting them via options.url(forOption: "m"), options.url(forOption: "g") Both nulls. I also see that options are presented in options.taskOptions But they are not expanded to absolute pathes or urls, which makes me think that pathOptions declaration is incorrect. Docs says This dictionary uses the command option name as a key, and each entry has a value indicating what kind of entry to create. What entry kind means in this context? Can you send example of correct pathOptions?

manage sandbox account clear purchase history not working?
I would like to know whether and how people are getting the sandbox account > manage > clear purchase history feature to work. I clear purchase history (either on my device or at app store connect), and I delete my app from my device. I then run my app from Xcode on my device, and it detects at launch the existence of the purchase, and so I cannot test my purchase user interface. Does this thing actually work as advertised?

Reporting to External Purchase Server API when using alternative PSP in the EU
Dear community, Context My company operates in the European Union, where not so long ago there appeared the possibility to accept an ["Alternative Terms Addendum for Apps in the EU"] (https://aninterestingwebsite.com/contact/request/download/alternate_eu_terms_addendum.pdf), which, among others, gives us the possibility to use an alternative payment provider, other than Apple's In App Purchase PSP system (ref: Apple docs). My company did accept it and was granted the StoreKit External Purchase Entitlement (com.apple.developer.storekit.external-purchase) entitlement, with which we integrated a different PSP, so now we want to incorporate the reporting to Apple's External Purchase Server API. We are currently integrating with the External Purchase Server API and have encountered a couple of issues I would appreciate clarification on: Question 1 Is there a way to retrieve an overview or summary of the current subscription states on Apple’s servers as a result of the submitted reports to External Purchase Server API? Specifically, I would like to verify the expected outcomes before the monthly invoice is issued by Apple and to understand the subscription states for the test users I used during this process and for future reference as well. Question 2 In one scenario, I initiated a one-year subscription, and in the middle of its period, I submitted a RENEWAL for one month with a higher price. I expected the request to fail due to overlapping periods and/or pricing conflicts, but both submissions were accepted without error. Do you have an idea about: What happens at the end of the renewed month? Will the subscription continue with the renewed (higher) amount, revert to the original (lower) annual rate, or be canceled? Where can I view the final state and billing plan for that subscription? Thank you for your assistance, we are looking forward for any kind of help or information regarding this topic.

Manager and service could not be nil at all. packet-tunnel-provider-systemextension doesn't work
I am currently creating a MacOS app that uses NetworkExtension and SystemExtension without going through the Store.

What do I need to do to reveal this information?

Connecting to a service found by Bonjour isn't working.
I'm using NWBrowser to search for a server that I hosted. The browser does find my service but when it tries to connect to it, it gets stuck in the preparing phase in NWConnection.stateUpdateHandler. When I hardcode the local IP address of my computer (where the server is hosted) into NWConnection it works perfectly fine and is able to connect. When it gets stuck in the preparing phase, it gives me the warnings and error messages in the image below. You can also see that the service name is correct and it is found. I have tried _http._tcp and _ssh._tcp types and neither work. This is what my code looks like: func findServerAndConnect(port: UInt16) { print("Searching for server...") let browser = NWBrowser(for: .bonjour(type: "_ssh._tcp", domain: "local."), using: .tcp) browser.browseResultsChangedHandler = { results, _ in print("Found results: \(results)") for result in results { if case let NWEndpoint.service(name, type_, domain, interface) = result.endpoint { if name == "PocketPadServer" { print("Found service: \(name) of type \(type_) in domain \(domain) on interface \(interface)") // Construct the full service name, including type and domain let fullServiceName = "\(name).\(type_).\(domain)" print("Full service name: \(fullServiceName), \(result.endpoint)") self.connect(to: result.endpoint, port: port) browser.cancel() break } } } } browser.start(queue: .main) } func connect(to endpoint: NWEndpoint, port: UInt16) { print("Connecting to \(endpoint) on port \(port)...") // endpoint = NWEndpoint( let tcpParams = NWProtocolTCP.Options() tcpParams.enableFastOpen = true tcpParams.keepaliveIdle = 2 let params = NWParameters(tls: nil, tcp: tcpParams) params.includePeerToPeer = true // connection = NWConnection(host: NWEndpoint.Host("xx.xxx.xxx.xxx"), port: NWEndpoint.Port(3000), using: params) connection = NWConnection(to: endpoint, using: params) connection?.pathUpdateHandler = { path in print("Connection path update: \(path)") if path.status == .satisfied { print("Connection path is satisfied") } else { print("Connection path is not satisfied: \(path.status)") } } connection?.stateUpdateHandler = { newState in DispatchQueue.main.async { switch newState { case .ready: print("Connected to server") self.pairing = true self.receiveMessage() case .failed(let error): print("Connection failed: \(error)") self.isConnected = false case .waiting(let error): print("Waiting for connection... \(error)") self.isConnected = false case .cancelled: print("Connection cancelled") self.isConnected = false case .preparing: print("Preparing connection...") self.isConnected = false default: print("Connection state changed: \(newState)") break } } } connection?.start(queue: .main) }
