Apple Maps URL scheme daddr=lat,long no longer working – regression?
Hello, I'm experiencing an issue with the Apple Maps URL scheme when using raw latitude and longitude coordinates in the daddr parameter. Until recently, using a URL like this worked reliably: https://maps.apple.com/?daddr=37.7749,-122.4194 This would open Apple Maps and show directions from the current location to the specified coordinates. However, on recent iOS versions, this URL no longer behaves as expected.

Message Filter Extension Not Triggering on iPhone 12 Pro (iOS 16.7) but Works on iPhone 11 (iOS 16.6)
Hi Team, We’re encountering a device-specific issue with our SMS Message Filter extension. The extension works as expected on an iPhone 11 running iOS 16.6, but it does not trigger on an iPhone 12 Pro running iOS 16.7. Key Observations: The extension is implemented using ILMessageFilterExtension and calls messageFilterOffline(appGroupIdentifier:for:) from our shared library. The App Group is properly configured and accessible across the app and extension. The extension is enabled under Settings > Messages > Unknown & Spam. There are no crashes or error logs reported on the affected device. The issue is consistently reproducible — it works on one device but not the other. We’re wondering if this could be a regression or a device-specific behavior change introduced in iOS 16.7. Has anyone encountered similar inconsistencies in Message Filter extensions across different iOS versions or device models? Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. iOS companion app with no Watch connected
Based on Cooordinate with the companion app in this article by Apple https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/healthkit/running-workout-sessions if a workout were to be started on the iPhone companion app but with no Watch available, given HKLiveWorkoutBuilder not available in iOS, does the iPhone app need to implement it's own workout tracking such as a timer for counting the elapsed time and location updates for distance and GPS tracking? If so in an instance where a paired Apple Watch were to exist and the workout is continued in the Watch app should the iPhone companion app stop this custom workout tracking and revert to the mirrored workout from the Watch to ensure accurate and synchronised data between the apps?

Network Relay errors out with "Privacy proxy failed with error 53"
I'm using NERelayManager to set Relay configuration which all works perfectly fine. I then do a curl with the included domain and while I see QUIC connection succeeds with relay server and H3 request goes to the server, the connection gets abruptly closed by the client with "Software caused connection abort". [iOS] Location data no longer updating consistently after updating the app from old version
I am developing an iOS app that uses CLLocationManager to collect location continuously in both foreground and background. But it has the following 4 issues and I don’t understand why: After a while of not using the app, I can not get location updates regularly. Even after that, I go into the app more often or even turn OFF and turn ON the permission again, but the problem still doesn’t improve until I reinstall the app. Previously, I used SilentLog SDK to collect location. Since the cost was quite high, we developed our own SDK that also handles location tracking. After updating the app from the old version using SilentLog SDK to the new version using my own SDK, I can not get location updates regularly. However, when I reinstalled the app, it worked perfectly. It seems that apps downloaded from TestFlight can get location more continuously than apps downloaded from the App Store We sometimes encounter this error in the logs: Error Domain=kCLErrorDomain Code=0 “(null)” I think my app was not terminated in the background because I still collect location but it is not as frequent. I want to know if Apple has any mechanism to prevent such apps from getting location data continuously? I use CLLocationManager with the following configuration: self.locationManager.distanceFilter = 20 self.locationManager.desiredAccuracy = kCLLocationAccuracyBest self.locationManager.allowsBackgroundLocationUpdates = true self.locationManager.showsBackgroundLocationIndicator = false self.locationManager.pausesLocationUpdatesAutomatically = false I also filter the location updates using: guard let location = locations.last else { return } guard location.horizontalAccuracy <= 100 else { return } guard location.speedAccuracy >= 0 else { return } I use a background task to wake up the device every 15 minutes, and I also use silent push notifications in a similar manner. intermittent multicast socket failures, new to Sequoia, still not fixed
multicast sockets fail to send/receive on macosx, errno 65 "no route to host". Wireshark and Terminal.app (which have root privileges) both show incoming multicast traffic just fine. Normal UDP broadcast sockets have no problems. Toggling the Security&Privacy -> Local Network setting may fix the problem for some Users. There is no pattern for when multicast socket fails. Sometimes, recreating the sockets fix the problem. Restart the app, sometimes multicast fails, sometimes success (intermittent, no pattern). Reboot machine (intermittent fail) Create a fresh new user on machine, install single version of app, give app permission. (intermittent fail, same as above). We have all the normal entitlements / notarized app. Similar posts here see FB16923535, Related to FB16512666 https://forum.xojo.com/t/udp-multicast-receive-on-mac-failing-intermittant/83221 see my post from 2012 "distinguishing between SENDING sockets and RECEIVING sockets" for source code example of how we bind multicast sockets. Our other socket code is standard "Stevens, et al." code. The bind() is the call that fails in this case. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/10692956/what-does-it-mean-to-bind-a-multicast-udp-socket . Note that this post from 2012 is still relevant, and that it is a workaround to a longstanding Apple bug that was never fixed. Namely, "Without this fix, multicast sending will intermittently get sendto() errno 'No route to host'. If anyone can shed light on why unplugging a DHCP gateway causes Mac OS X multicast SENDING sockets to get confused, I would love to hear it." This may be a hint as to the underlying bug that Apple really needs to fix, but if it's not, then please Apple, fix the Sequoia bug first. These are probably different bugs because in one case, sendto() fails when a socket becomes "unbound" after you unplug an unrelated network cable. In this case, bind() fails, so sendto() is never even called. Note, that we have also tried to use other implementations for network discovery, including Bonjour, CFNetwork, etc. Bonjour fails intermittently, and also suffers from both bugs mentioned above, amongst others.

sandbox account isn't logging in on purchase window
I don't know if I am posting this in the right place. I am using xcode's phone simulator and I have setup my sandbox account on appstoreconnect under users and access/sandbox/test accounts then in my app on the simulator when I tap the subscribe button to purchase my product the a window pops up for in app purchases and I get a login prompt for my sandbox credentials, but no matter how many times I enter them after tapping ok all I get is a blank login prompt. also not this a brand new sandbox account and I've only changed the password 3 times, that seems to be important because its inconsistent with some of the errors I am getting on the error log here is error log. All transaction in my current entitlement returns as .unverified
Im building a small iphone app with StoreKit and currently testing it in testflight right on my mac, not on iphone. StoreKit part almost exactly copied from SKDemo from one of the Apple's WWDC. For some users and for myself Transaction.currentEntitlements always returns .unverified results. I double-checked Apple Connect settings, i checked my internet connection and everything is fine. Is there some pitfalls for testflight on mac? How can I find out what is causing this problem?

How to register ContactProviderDomain
Hi there, we are implementing the new ContactProviderExtension introduced in iOS 18 and we are able to activate the extension, add data and everything. But we want to add domains to seperate contacts and currently we are getting an error "ContactProvider.ContactProviderError.domainNotRegistered". That makes sense because in the API docu we are not finding a way to register our domains. We are using ContactProviderDomain to create domains but we are not able to find any function to register. Could you please give a hint? Thank you

Can ManagedSettingsStore() block the app that configures it — and how to prevent it?
Hi everyone, I’m working with the ManagedSettingsStore API for managing Screen Time restrictions and I have a specific question: Is it possible for an app to block itself using ManagedSettingsStore() — for example, by applying an application category restriction or setting a specific block on its own bundle ID? If so, what strategies or best practices are recommended to avoid accidentally blocking the app itself while applying restrictions to other apps or categories? I haven’t found any official documentation confirming whether the system prevents self-blocking automatically or if this is something developers need to manage explicitly. Core Location reports incorrect location update especially with underground travel
Description of the Bug: Core Location intermittently reports inaccurate location updates, albeit with a high accuracy value. This problem occurs almost exclusively while travelling in metros underground affecting the ability to rely on the framework effectively. Steps to Reproduce: The user starts travelling on ground level at point A The user continues travelling and, after some time, is now underground at point B. A stationary beacon scanned at point B confirms this. Core Location is observed to deliver a location update with a high-accuracy value but with the coordinates around point A when the user is actually around point B. Expected Behaviour: Accurate locations should be delivered at all times. In other words, Core Location should not report location updates with high accuracy when its certainty is low.

subscriptionGroupLookups API returns 404 - No LookUp Key assigned to my subscription group
Hello, I'm encountering an issue when trying to use the subscriptionGroupLookups endpoint in the App Store Connect API. Despite having the correct setup, I continue to receive a 404 NOT FOUND error when making requests to: GET https://api.appstoreconnect.apple.com/v1/subscriptionGroupLookups Here is the current state of my environment: I am the Account Holder of the App Store Connect account The App Store Connect API key has been successfully created I have the correct Key ID, Issuer ID, and .p8 private key I can authenticate and access the apps and subscriptionGroups endpoints However, the subscriptionGroupLookups endpoint always returns: { "errors": [ { "status": "404", "code": "NOT_FOUND", "title": "The specified resource does not exist" } ] } I suspect that LookUp Keys (UUIDs) have not been assigned to our subscription groups, even though they were created and are active in App Store Connect. There is no “Request Access” button visible under the Integrations tab (as mentioned in Apple support instructions), and my keys appear under “App Store Connect API” > “Keys” as active. Questions: How can I ensure that LookUp Keys are assigned to my subscription groups? Is there a way to trigger this manually or via support? Has anyone successfully resolved this? Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Invalid currency symbol
Strange issue with currency display in subscription products Hi everyone, I'm facing a strange issue in my app where I use a subscription-based in-app purchase model. The products I created in App Store Connect are all in "Approved" status. I've tested with both RevenueCat and StoreKit, but the result is the same. Here are the products being loaded: Product loaded: weekly_product_id Display name: Weekly Pro Description: Weekly Pro Subscription Price: ₺229,99 Product loaded: annual_product_id Display name: Annual Pro Description: Annual Pro Subscription Price: ₺1.799,99 Even though I can see the correct prices and currency (Turkish Lira) in the Xcode debug console, on my real device the currency appears as Philippine Peso, as shown in the attached screenshot. Interestingly, in the iOS simulator, it's displayed in USD. I've double-checked and my device's region settings are set to Turkey. Any ideas on what could be causing this? And more importantly, how can I fix it? Thanks in advance!

A proper design approach for implementing a data logger using BLE in an iOS app.
Thank you for always reading my questions. This time, I'd like to ask some specific questions to gain a deeper understanding of iOS CoreBluetooth. In the previous question, we learned that although iOS can perform BLE scanning in the background, it is not suitable for use as a data logger. I was also taught that when using it as a data logger, the iOS app should use GATT communication, and that instead of reading data from the device one by one, it is recommended to store large amounts of data on the device and connect at an appropriate time (such as when the iOS app enters the foreground) to retrieve the data all at once. My requirements are the same as last time. I want to send data from a device equipped with some kind of sensor via BLE and display it in a graph in the iOS app. Data should be acquired every few to tens of seconds and reflected immediately in the graph. Measurements may take up to 24 hours at most. I would like to avoid making any major changes to the device. Also, it is unclear whether there will be enough memory for the data logger for 24 hours. Therefore, I am first looking for an appropriate communication method for the iOS app. iOS is smart and convenient, so I think users will check the measurement status every time they use this iOS app.Therefore, I want to be able to check the changes from the start of measurement to the present in a graph as soon as the app is launched. I would like to measure data from multiple devices (e.g. 5 devices) at the same time. I have a question based on the above requirements. When thinking about the best way to avoid making changes to the device, the only way I could come up with, as someone with insufficient iOS technology, is to keep the connection open via GATT communication and continue to obtain data. However, does iOS GATT communication have any limitations in this regard? Will the OS automatically disconnect GATT communication at a certain time? Also, if that happens, is there a way to automatically reconnect and obtain the data? Is it possible to smoothly obtain data using iOS GATT communication without any particular restrictions even in the background? Are any other permissions required? Regarding the sixth requirement. Until last time, with BLE scanning, even if there were multiple devices, the iOS app could measure the data for as many devices as it wanted, but this time, how many devices can be read? In the case of GATT communication with iOS CoreBluetooth, can multiple devices maintain a long connection? Or is it basically better to have one device per connection when creating such an app for iOS? I would like to know if there are any restrictions or points to be careful of when using GATT communication with multiple devices. I'm sorry for broadening my question, but if neither question 1 nor question 2 works, it will put a burden on the design of the device. If data is stored on the device, is it possible to automatically and periodically connect to the device at a set time interval (for example, once an hour, allowing for some margin of error) when the iOS app is in the background, and obtain log data from the device? Weatherkit API Historical 404 Errors Starting 3/5/25
We've been using the WeatherKit API for a few years now. Everything has been pretty stable. We'll periodically get 404 errors, but they usually disappear within a couple days. Starting March 5th we've again been getting 404 errors that slowly ramped up to March 20th and continued. We have had no code changes on our end, so something seems to have changed / broken on the server side of things. Network Relay errors out with "Privacy proxy failed with error 53"
I'm using NERelayManager to set Relay configuration which all works perfectly fine. I then do a curl with the included domain and while I see QUIC connection succeeds with relay server and H3 request goes to the server, the connection gets abruptly closed by the client with "Software caused connection abort". [iOS] Location data no longer updating consistently after updating the app from old version
I am developing an iOS app that uses CLLocationManager to collect location continuously in both foreground and background. But it has the following 4 issues and I don’t understand why: After a while of not using the app, I can not get location updates regularly. Even after that, I go into the app more often or even turn OFF and turn ON the permission again, but the problem still doesn’t improve until I reinstall the app. Previously, I used SilentLog SDK to collect location. Since the cost was quite high, we developed our own SDK that also handles location tracking. After updating the app from the old version using SilentLog SDK to the new version using my own SDK, I can not get location updates regularly. However, when I reinstalled the app, it worked perfectly. It seems that apps downloaded from TestFlight can get location more continuously than apps downloaded from the App Store We sometimes encounter this error in the logs: Error Domain=kCLErrorDomain Code=0 “(null)” I think my app was not terminated in the background because I still collect location but it is not as frequent. I want to know if Apple has any mechanism to prevent such apps from getting location data continuously? intermittent multicast socket failures, new to Sequoia, still not fixed
multicast sockets fail to send/receive on macosx, errno 65 "no route to host". Wireshark and Terminal.app (which have root privileges) both show incoming multicast traffic just fine. Normal UDP broadcast sockets have no problems. Toggling the Security&Privacy -> Local Network setting may fix the problem for some Users. There is no pattern for when multicast socket fails. Sometimes, recreating the sockets fix the problem. Restart the app, sometimes multicast fails, sometimes success (intermittent, no pattern). Reboot machine (intermittent fail) Create a fresh new user on machine, install single version of app, give app permission. (intermittent fail, same as above). We have all the normal entitlements / notarized app. Similar posts here see FB16923535, Related to FB16512666 https://forum.xojo.com/t/udp-multicast-receive-on-mac-failing-intermittant/83221 see my post from 2012 "distinguishing between SENDING sockets and RECEIVING sockets" for source code example of how we bind multicast sockets. Our other socket code is standard "Stevens, et al." code. Note that this post from 2012 is still relevant, and that it is a workaround to a longstanding Apple bug that was never fixed. Namely, "Without this fix, multicast sending will intermittently get sendto() errno 'No route to host'. If anyone can shed light on why unplugging a DHCP gateway causes Mac OS X multicast SENDING sockets to get confused, I would love to hear it." This may be a hint as to the underlying bug that Apple really needs to fix, but if it's not, then please Apple, fix the Sequoia bug first. These are probably different bugs because in one case, sendto() fails when a socket becomes "unbound" after you unplug an unrelated network cable. In this case, bind() fails, so sendto() is never even called. Note, that we have also tried to use other implementations for network discovery, including Bonjour, CFNetwork, etc. Bonjour fails intermittently, and also suffers from both bugs mentioned above, amongst others.

sandbox account isn't logging in on purchase window
I don't know if I am posting this in the right place. I am using xcode's phone simulator and I have setup my sandbox account on appstoreconnect under users and access/sandbox/test accounts then in my app on the simulator when I tap the subscribe button to purchase my product the a window pops up for in app purchases and I get a login prompt for my sandbox credentials, but no matter how many times I enter them after tapping ok all I get is a blank login prompt. also not this a brand new sandbox account and I've only changed the password 3 times, that seems to be important because its inconsistent with some of the errors I am getting on the error log here is error log. All transaction in my current entitlement returns as .unverified
Im building a small iphone app with StoreKit and currently testing it in testflight right on my mac, not on iphone. StoreKit part almost exactly copied from SKDemo from one of the Apple's WWDC. For some users and for myself Transaction.currentEntitlements always returns .unverified results. I double-checked Apple Connect settings, i checked my internet connection and everything is fine. Is there some pitfalls for testflight on mac? How can I find out what is causing this problem?

How to register ContactProviderDomain
Hi there, we are implementing the new ContactProviderExtension introduced in iOS 18 and we are able to activate the extension, add data and everything. But we want to add domains to seperate contacts and currently we are getting an error "ContactProvider.ContactProviderError.domainNotRegistered". That makes sense because in the API docu we are not finding a way to register our domains. We are using ContactProviderDomain to create domains but we are not able to find any function to register. Could you please give a hint? Thank you

Can ManagedSettingsStore() block the app that configures it — and how to prevent it?
Hi everyone, I’m working with the ManagedSettingsStore API for managing Screen Time restrictions and I have a specific question: Is it possible for an app to block itself using ManagedSettingsStore() — for example, by applying an application category restriction or setting a specific block on its own bundle ID? If so, what strategies or best practices are recommended to avoid accidentally blocking the app itself while applying restrictions to other apps or categories? I haven’t found any official documentation confirming whether the system prevents self-blocking automatically or if this is something developers need to manage explicitly. Core Location reports incorrect location update especially with underground travel
Description of the Bug: Core Location intermittently reports inaccurate location updates, albeit with a high accuracy value. This problem occurs almost exclusively while travelling in metros underground affecting the ability to rely on the framework effectively. Steps to Reproduce: The user starts travelling on ground level at point A The user continues travelling and, after some time, is now underground at point B. A stationary beacon scanned at point B confirms this. Core Location is observed to deliver a location update with a high-accuracy value but with the coordinates around point A when the user is actually around point B. Expected Behaviour: Accurate locations should be delivered at all times. In other words, Core Location should not report location updates with high accuracy when its certainty is low.

subscriptionGroupLookups API returns 404 - No LookUp Key assigned to my subscription group
Hello, I'm encountering an issue when trying to use the subscriptionGroupLookups endpoint in the App Store Connect API. Despite having the correct setup, I continue to receive a 404 NOT FOUND error when making requests to: GET https://api.appstoreconnect.apple.com/v1/subscriptionGroupLookups Here is the current state of my environment: I am the Account Holder of the App Store Connect account The App Store Connect API key has been successfully created I have the correct Key ID, Issuer ID, and .p8 private key I can authenticate and access the apps and subscriptionGroups endpoints However, the subscriptionGroupLookups endpoint always returns: { "errors": [ { "status": "404", "code": "NOT_FOUND", "title": "The specified resource does not exist" } ] } I suspect that LookUp Keys (UUIDs) have not been assigned to our subscription groups, even though they were created and are active in App Store Connect. There is no “Request Access” button visible under the Integrations tab (as mentioned in Apple support instructions), and my keys appear under “App Store Connect API” > “Keys” as active. Questions: How can I ensure that LookUp Keys are assigned to my subscription groups? Is there a way to trigger this manually or via support? Has anyone successfully resolved this? Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Invalid currency symbol
Strange issue with currency display in subscription products Hi everyone, I'm facing a strange issue in my app where I use a subscription-based in-app purchase model. The products I created in App Store Connect are all in "Approved" status. I've tested with both RevenueCat and StoreKit, but the result is the same. Here are the products being loaded: Product loaded: weekly_product_id Display name: Weekly Pro Description: Weekly Pro Subscription Price: ₺229,99 Product loaded: annual_product_id Display name: Annual Pro Description: Annual Pro Subscription Price: ₺1.799,99 Even though I can see the correct prices and currency (Turkish Lira) in the Xcode debug console, on my real device the currency appears as Philippine Peso, as shown in the attached screenshot. Interestingly, in the iOS simulator, it's displayed in USD. I've double-checked and my device's region settings are set to Turkey. Any ideas on what could be causing this? And more importantly, how can I fix it? Thanks in advance!

A proper design approach for implementing a data logger using BLE in an iOS app.
Thank you for always reading my questions. This time, I'd like to ask some specific questions to gain a deeper understanding of iOS CoreBluetooth. In the previous question, we learned that although iOS can perform BLE scanning in the background, it is not suitable for use as a data logger. I was also taught that when using it as a data logger, the iOS app should use GATT communication, and that instead of reading data from the device one by one, it is recommended to store large amounts of data on the device and connect at an appropriate time (such as when the iOS app enters the foreground) to retrieve the data all at once. My requirements are the same as last time. I want to send data from a device equipped with some kind of sensor via BLE and display it in a graph in the iOS app. Data should be acquired every few to tens of seconds and reflected immediately in the graph. Measurements may take up to 24 hours at most. I would like to avoid making any major changes to the device. Also, it is unclear whether there will be enough memory for the data logger for 24 hours. Therefore, I am first looking for an appropriate communication method for the iOS app. iOS is smart and convenient, so I think users will check the measurement status every time they use this iOS app.Therefore, I want to be able to check the changes from the start of measurement to the present in a graph as soon as the app is launched. I would like to measure data from multiple devices (e.g. 5 devices) at the same time. I have a question based on the above requirements. When thinking about the best way to avoid making changes to the device, the only way I could come up with, as someone with insufficient iOS technology, is to keep the connection open via GATT communication and continue to obtain data. However, does iOS GATT communication have any limitations in this regard? Will the OS automatically disconnect GATT communication at a certain time? Also, if that happens, is there a way to automatically reconnect and obtain the data? Is it possible to smoothly obtain data using iOS GATT communication without any particular restrictions even in the background? Are any other permissions required? Regarding the sixth requirement. Until last time, with BLE scanning, even if there were multiple devices, the iOS app could measure the data for as many devices as it wanted, but this time, how many devices can be read? In the case of GATT communication with iOS CoreBluetooth, can multiple devices maintain a long connection? Or is it basically better to have one device per connection when creating such an app for iOS? I would like to know if there are any restrictions or points to be careful of when using GATT communication with multiple devices. I'm sorry for broadening my question, but if neither question 1 nor question 2 works, it will put a burden on the design of the device. If data is stored on the device, is it possible to automatically and periodically connect to the device at a set time interval (for example, once an hour, allowing for some margin of error) when the iOS app is in the background, and obtain log data from the device? Weatherkit API Historical 404 Errors Starting 3/5/25
We've been using the WeatherKit API for a few years now. Everything has been pretty stable. We'll periodically get 404 errors, but they usually disappear within a couple days. Starting March 5th we've again been getting 404 errors that slowly ramped up to March 20th and continued. We have had no code changes on our end, so something seems to have changed / broken on the server side of things.
