Card provisioning not working from Apple Wallet Extension
We have developed Apple Wallet Extension for our App. The in-app provisioning for the card is working. However when we try to add the card from Wallet extension it gives error saying "Your issuer does not yet offer support for this card". Apple Pay Domain Verification: .txt Extension Confusion
Hi all, I’m running into a confusing issue with Apple Pay domain verification. Apple’s documentation says to host the verification file at: https://yourdomain.com/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association And the portal itself seems to expect the file to be served with .txt extension during verification. My first verification passed, but subsequent checks are failing — and I’m wondering if this mismatch is the cause. Should I Keep the .txt and configure my server to serve it at both paths? Would appreciate any insights or official clarification. Thanks!

Stability issues with Apple Pay Sandbox Cards
We are writing to report a recurring stability issue with the Apple Pay sandbox environment. We are using the official sandbox test cards provided on the Apple Developer website for our testing: https://aninterestingwebsite.com/apple-pay/sandbox-testing/ We are experiencing frequent, intermittent failures when attempting to add these sandbox cards to the Wallet for testing purposes. The issue typically occurs a couple of times per day. When the failure occurs, the card provisioning process fails unexpectedly. The issue is not limited to a single card; we have observed this behavior across all available card networks. In some instances, all cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Amex) fail to provision simultaneously. At other times, the issue appears to be isolated to specific networks while others work correctly. Crucially, the issue appears to be temporary. After some time passes (ranging from minutes to an hour), we are able to add the exact same card successfully without making any changes to our test environment or configuration. We have diligently checked our setup to rule out configuration errors on our end. This includes verifying: The device is set to a supported region. We are signed in with a valid sandbox tester Apple ID. All other prerequisites for sandbox testing are met. The fact that the process works correctly at other times strongly suggests that this is a server-side stability issue within the Apple Pay sandbox environment rather than a persistent misconfiguration on our part. To help with your investigation, we have attached an image that demonstrates a failed attempt to add a card. Could you please investigate the stability of the sandbox card provisioning service? Please let us know if this is a known issue or if there is any further information we can provide. Thank you for your time and assistance.

PKAddPaymentPassViewController cannot be created in TestFlight build despite entitlement being present
We are integrating Apple Pay In-App Provisioning in our banking application using an external SDK. The provisioning flow works on the iOS Simulator (mock sheet appears), but fails on real devices via TestFlight with the error: internalInconsistency: "PKAddPaymentPassViewController can not be created" Environment: Xcode 16 iOS 18 Real device: iPhone (tested via TestFlight / Distribution build) Card network: Mastercard What we've verified: com.apple.developer.payment-pass-provisioning entitlement is set to YES in our .entitlements file The entitlement is confirmed present in our Development provisioning profile via security cms -D -i embedded.mobileprovision | grep payment-pass → returns <true/> PKAddPaymentPassViewController.canAddPaymentPass() returns true on the device The card is NOT already in Apple Wallet (0 local/remote Secure Element passes) All provisioning data is present and valid (encryptedPayload, authorizationCode, primaryAccountSuffix, cardholderName) The external SDK is configured successfully at app launch Diagnostic logs from TestFlight build: canAddPaymentPass: true Local SE passes: 0 Remote SE passes: 0 suffix: 6165 name: [redacted] encryptedPayload length: 1130 authCode length: 514 scheme: Mastercard Card already in Wallet: false Error: internalInconsistency("PKAddPaymentPassViewController can not be created") Testing matrix: Environment Result Simulator Mock sheet appears (not a real test) Device + Debugger attached PKAddPaymentPassViewController error Device + Debugger detached (Dev build) SDK error 903: "device environment unsafe" TestFlight (Distribution) PKAddPaymentPassViewController cannot be created Questions: Can PKAddPaymentPassViewController fail to be created even when canAddPaymentPass() returns true? What other conditions could cause this? Is there a way to verify that the Distribution provisioning profile correctly includes the payment-pass-provisioning entitlement after it has been approved by Apple? Are there any additional Apple Pay entitlements or configurations (e.g., Wallet merchant setup, pass type identifiers) required beyond com.apple.developer.payment-pass-provisioning for In-App Provisioning to work? Does regenerating the Distribution provisioning profile on Apple Developer Portal resolve cases where entitlements were added after the profile was originally created? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Apple Pay on the Web Merchant Validation Intermittent 403 Forbidden
We are experiencing intermittent 403 Forbidden errors during Apple Pay on web merchant validation in our production and sandbox environment. Has anyone else started seeing 403 Forbidden errors recently (since mid-2025)? Why would merchant validation be sometimes successful and sometimes fail with 403? Could this be related to new Apple Pay gateway changes or stricter validation rules? Any additional debug steps or permanent solutions we should try? Thank you.

Apple Wallet not showing correct amounts for grocery delivery platform
We are observing unexpected behavior in Apple Wallet for transactions processed via an online delivery platform. Here is the specific flow: Initial Authorization: The original order was placed for $22.30. Order Amendment: The user added an item 10 minutes later for $6.20, bringing the total to $28.50. The Issue: Apple Wallet only displays the $6.20 transaction. The initial $22.30 amount is not visible in the transaction list. Technical Verification: We confirmed that both backend authorization messages for the original amount and the add-on were approved. We verified that the final settlement amounts correctly reflect the sum of both charges ($28.50). We have confirmed the transaction lifecycle completed successfully on our end. Despite this, the customer only sees the $6.20 entry in their Wallet history, which creates confusion as it doesn't reflect the total spent. Has anyone encountered this sync issue between settlement totals and Wallet display, or is there a specific way we should be linking these related authorizations? Thanks!

Inquiry about apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association.txt Security and Access
I have a question regarding the file apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association.txt. I understand that this file is used during API access for Apple Pay Web payments. However, is it necessary for our company to access this file during the payment process? Also, this domain validation file is expected to be placed in the publicly accessible “.well-known” folder on our web server. Is it acceptable for this file to remain readable by third parties on the Internet, including Apple’s servers, without posing any security risks? Since this file is generated during domain registration on the Apple Developer site and is unique to our domain, we believe there should be no security concerns even if accessed by third parties. However, are there any specific security requirements for this domain validation file? Please note that the domain validation has already been successfully completed. We appreciate your time and look forward to your guidance. Best regards,

Merchant domain verification
Hello, I'm experiencing an irregular issue with Apple Pay merchant domain verification. As you know, Apple requires domain verification every two months to maintain Apple Pay functionality. The problem is that while the verification sometimes happens automatically without any issues, other times it fails to complete, even though the required file "apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association.txt" is correctly available on our server. When automatic verification fails, the Apple Pay service becomes non-functional on our website, forcing us to perform a manual verification to restore the pending service. Is it normal to encounter such inconsistent automatic verification processes? What could be causing these intermittent verification failures, whereas manual verification always succeed? suggesting this might not be related to IP address restrictions described on the Apple documentation. Thank you in advance,

How does the Domain Verification Files work
Currently, on our Production environment, when calling https://apple-pay-gateway.apple.com/paymentservices/paymentSessio,n we are randomly receiving: "Payment Services Exception merchantId={Value} unauthorized to process transactions on behalf of merchantId={Value} reason={Value} is not a registered merchant in WWDR and isn't properly authorized via Mass Enablement, either." Since launching Apple Pay on our platform we have received a new Domain Verification File and looking at some of the Domain Verification File that are hosted on the domains they are different to ours. Questions around the Domain Verification File Would we have to update every single Domain Verification File every time we receive a new one ? Does the paymentSession verfiy/call the Domain Verification File on the domain listed at https://[DOMAIN_NAME]/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association ? What happens if the Domain Verification File doesnt match the one that we currently have ? Would we have to regrester our Domains everytime we get a new Domain Verification File ?

How to test TokenNotificationURL in sandbox?
We are trying to implement the the tokenNotificationUrl in a deferredBilling request so that we can get MPAN tokens (when supported) back from ApplePay. We want to be able to test that the events are working and firing. I have tried creating a deferred billing request, and then unlinked my test card from my test account and did not receive any event at my token notification endpoint. What is the best way to approach this from a lower environment perspective? We are trying to simulate the UNLINK EventType in the MerchantTokenEventResponse. Also can you confirm that providing this URL is what determines if we get an MPAN vs a DPAN (when MPAN is supported) or is there a different mechanism that turns that on?

ApplePay: Flexible payments/scheduling
On Applepay's docs it talks about the ability to do "flexible" payments and scheduling for future purchases. We need to be able to make only a single approval of an Apple payment for multiple submissions later on. Think, deferred payments at an arbitrary schedule without presenting the ApplePay dialog each and every time. The docs suggest that may be possible, but are maddeningly vague on how to do that. Is it possible or not? Can we store an approved merchant's token for example and leverage that for future transactions?

Hello, we are trying to extend the dates of verified domains following the docs of https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/applepayontheweb/maintaining-your-environment#Renew-Your-Domain-Verification and configured the server following https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/ApplePayontheWeb/setting-up-your-server we've download the apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association.txt and update them on their respective locations, click 'ok' button and we get redirected to the main page of the merchant certificate, but the expiration dates have not been extended, we can see on our web crawler that Apple Requested the file and it return a 200. No popup errors are shown, no console developer error we only get redirected to the merchant certificate information page.

Apple Pay Web integration
To perform the integration, it must be done under the same domain that has been validated. Is it not possible to do it in a local environment? Could that be the reason why I can't display the button or complete the validation with the API?

App flgged by apple for paid version clarification
Currently I have an app which is completely free for all the users, I might have future versions where I will introduce paid version, where I will surely use Apple IAP and Revenue CAT. How should I clarify this to App store? Should I tell only what I am doing today, or also tell what I will do in future and keep Apple IAP in my conversation?
