The following members of the Board of Directors (12 of 12) were present at the meeting: Jannis Leidel, Simon Willison, Deb Nicholson, Débora Azevedo, Dawn Wages, Kushal Das, Tania Allard, Denny Perez, Cheuk Ting Ho, Christopher Neugebauer, Georgi Ker, Kwon-Han Bae. The following outgoing members of the Board of Directors (3 of 5) were also in attendance: Thomas Wouters, Jeff Triplett, Dustin Ingram.

3 Board and Staff Monthly Reports for August 2023
3.1 Deb Nicholson
- PyCon
- Signed the contract for 2026/2027, will announce in Pittsburgh next year
- Mariatta is working on bringing in a new PyCon Chair for the two years after 2024
- Olivia and I have started discussing some improvements including; including a PSF update in the conference welcome, improving CoC reporting, streamlining volunteer organization, promoting sprints, facilitating a conversation on health and safety plans for 2024, contractors that we might want to bring in for onsite work
- Staffing
- Nearly ready to make an offer for the Community Events Manager
- Starting screens for the Comms role next week.
- Screening interviews are nearly finished for the Deputy Developer in Residence role
- Filled the PyPI Security and Safety Engineer role
- Completed annual staff evaluations and applied COLA and raises
- Funding
- We're investigating a government Request for Information that could lead to funding
- Looking into potential collaborations on improving open source security practices and support
- ED Travel

- I met lots of folks who were very excited about building up their local Python communities
- I attended FOSSY with Loren and gave a talk about Non-profit Boards, https://2023.fossy.us/schedule/presentation/32/
- I also participated in Europython where I was on a panel about the Cyber-Resilience Act, and did an informal AMA with EuroPython about our two orgs.
- I also participated in the Open Source Congress, a global meeting of Executive Directors and Leaders from various community-driven projects and trade associations to discuss shared goals and the potential for collaboration on policy or best practices. - We joined the OSI's Open Policy Alliance, a network of public benefit organizations that can provide context on policies that affect open source development and use.

3.10 Seth Larson
- PSF is now a part of the CNA program! Public announcement happens on August 29th. Submitted blog post draft to MITRE and had an onboarding call with CVE. Creating materials for OpenSSF Vuln Disclosures WG for other organizations looking to become CNAs (chatting with NumFOCUS about this).
- Setup the PSF Advisory Database using Open Source Vulnerability format and imported historical security advisories. Working with OSV folks to get our advisories syndicated into the global OSV frontend.
- Vulnerability coordination work for PSRT (Python, pip). Published two vulnerability advisories and coordinated a release. Will be proposing process improvements now that I’ve had first-hand experience with the current process.
- NSpeaking at OpenSSF Europe Day 2023 with Cheuk Ting Ho on SDIR role.
- Response to the RFI on OSS Security by USGov Cyber Director.
3.11 Thomas Wouters

RESOLVED, that the Python Software Foundation accepts North Bay Python as a fiscal sponsoree in alignment with its tax-exempt mission and that the PSF is authorized to execute a fiscal sponsorship agreement with North Bay Python.
