Minutes of a Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors

July 28, 2015

A regular meeting of the Python Software Foundation ("PSF") Board of Directors was held over Group Conference Call via phone and Internet Relay Chat beginning at 20:00 UTC, on July 28, 2015. Ewa Jodlowska took notes/minutes.

All votes are reported in the form "Y-N-A" (in favor-Y‚opposed-N‚abstentions-A; e.g. "5-1-2" means "5 in favor, 1 opposed, and 2 abstentions").

1   Attendance

The following members of the Board of Directors (9 of 11) were present at the meeting: Van Lindberg, Lynn Root, Diana Clarke, Naomi Ceder, Ashwini Oruganti, Carol Willing, Anna Ossowski, and Marc-Andre Lemburg. Nick Coghlan voted by proxy. Ewa Jodlowska (Secretary/Administrator) and Kurt B. Kaiser (Treasurer) were also in attendance.

2   Minutes of Past Meetings

The 09 July 2015 Board meeting minutes were voted on and approved.

RESOLVED, that the PSF approve the minutes at https://mail.python.org/mailman/private/psf-board/2015-July/031505.html as representing a true and accurate record of the July 9, 2015 meeting.

Approved, 7–0-2.

3   Votes Taken Between Meetings

There were no votes taken between the July 9, 2015 and the July 28, 2015 meetings.

4.1   Frank Willison Award

RESOLVED, that the Python Software Foundation award the 2015 Frank Willison Award to Jessica McKellar for her outreach work

Approved via email 11-0-0.

5   Reports

6   PyGotham 2015 Sponsorship

RESOLVED, that the Python Software Foundation sponsor PyGotham 2015 in the amount of $3,500

Approved, 9-0-0.

7   PyCon Japan 2015 Sponsorship

RESOLVED, that the Python Software Foundation sponsor PyCon Japan 2015 in the amount of 300,000 YEN (approximately 2417 USD), which corresponds with their Gold sponsorship level

Approved, 8-0-1.

8   PyCon Canada 2015 Sponsorship

RESOLVED, that the Python Software Foundation sponsor PyCon Canada 2015 in the amount of $2750

Approved, 9-0-0.

9   Django Girls Seoul Workshop

RESOLVED, for the Python Software Foundation grant 2,000 USD to the Django Girls Seoul workshop happening October 2-3, 2015

10   2015 3rd Quarter CSA

RESOLVED, that the Python Software Foundation award the 2015 3rd Quarter Community Service Award to Victor Stinner and Serhiy Storchaka

11   Python Education Workgroup

12   Codesses Workshop

RESOLVED, that the Python Software Foundation grant $1,250 USD to the Codesses (http://www.thecodesses.com) workshop happening in Lagos, Nigeria August 15th, 2015 pending publication of their code of conduct

13   Other Business

  • The board discussed on how to get involved with the BBC Microbit. Discussion is still going on via mailing list.
