Minutes of a Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors

October 17, 2014

A regular meeting of the Python Software Foundation ("PSF") Board of Directors was held over Group Conference Call via phone and Internet Relay Chat beginning at 16:00 UTC, on October 17, 2014. Van Lindberg presided over the meeting. Ewa Jodlowska recorded the call/IRC transcript.

All votes are reported in the form "Y-N-A" (in favor-Y‚opposed-N‚abstentions-A; e.g. "5-1-2" means "5 in favor, 1 opposed, and 2 abstentions").

1   Attendance

The following members of the Board of Directors (06 of 11) were present at the meeting: Van Lindberg, David Mertz, Jessica McKellar, Brian Curtin, Kushal Das, and Alex Gaynor. Ewa Jodlowska (Secretary/Administrator) and Kurt Kaiser (Treasurer) also were in attendance.

2   Minutes of Past Meetings

The 01 October 2014 Board meeting minutes were voted on and approved.

RESOLVED, that the PSF approve the minutes at https://mail.python.org/mailman/private/psf-board/2014-October/026944.html as representing a true and accurate record of the October 1, 2014 meeting.

Approved, 4–0-2.

There were no votes taken between the October 1st and October 17th meetings.

5   Reports

Reports will be included in the next batch of October board meeting minutes.

6   Django Girls Kampala

RESOLVED, that the Python Software Foundation grant $1,700.15 USD to Django Girls Kampala for a workshop happening November 15th, 2014

Approved, 6-0-0.

7   PyTennesse 2015 Sponsorship

RESOLVED, that the Python Software Foundation sponsor PyTennesse 2015 in the amount of $2,500 USD

Approved, 6-0-0.

8   PyTennesse 2015 Young Coders

RESOLVED that the Python Software Foundation grant $1,000 USD to PyTennessee 2015 for their Young Coders' workshop

Approved, 6-0-0.

9   Plone 2014 Sponsorship

RESOLVED, that the Python Software Foundation sponsor the 2014 Plone conference in the amount of $1,500 USD.

Approved, 6-0-0.

10   Plone 2014 Training Program

RESOLVED, that the Python Software Foundation grant $1,250 USD to the 2014 Plone Conference for their training program happening 27th - 28th October 2014.

Denied, 1–5-0.

11   Makerland 2014 Sponsorship

RESOLVED, that the PSF sponsor Makerland 2014 in the amount of 240 Euro

Denied, 0–6-0.

12   Other Business

  • The board discussed Donald S.’s request for a new Wildcard Certificate. It was decided that Alex would assist Donald with this process.
