Your Responsibilities

  • Oversee strategic tech team initiatives from prototyping to development under the guidance of senior leadership.
  • Research technological trends, build proofs of concept and drive innovation efforts. Guide their successful permanent implementation and shape groundbreaking technical directions that create value for our business.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across the whole company to understand the needs of our stakeholders and customers, industry trends and ensure we build the right solutions
  • Lead the architecture, design and development of our end-to-end optimization platform, encompassing data ingestion and processing, optimization logic implementation, battery control, automated power trading, accounting, and settlement.
  • Take our system to the next level to best leverage our algorithmic and trading capabilities both in backtesting and production, both for immediate go-lives, as well as the strategic long-term evolution of our system.
  • Mentor and guide team members, enhancing their workflows with your extensive knowledge and experience and enabling them to work at their best.
  • Define and promote engineering best practices, educating engineers and data scientists on designing and delivering maintainable, iterative solutions.
  • Support colleagues during their onboarding, daily operations, and strategic tasks.
  • Maintain and improve our tech stack, development environments, and infrastructure, from service development and testing to integration and monitoring.

Requirements

Mandatory requirements - 8 years of experience in Software Engineering (Backend and algorithmic) in the cloud.

  • 3+ years of experience with Python, including object-oriented design.
  • 4+ years of experience in onboarding, mentoring, and coaching colleagues in junior and mid-level positions.
  • Proactivity in understanding industry trends and business complementary to technical experience.
  • Proven track record of pragmatic delivery and strategic project execution.
  • Experience working cross-functionally, especially with Product and Data Science teams.
  • Team player with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts, as well as

work independently on solutions.

  • Experience and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking.
  • Full business proficiency in English.

Skills to Set You Apart

  • Familiarity with the AWS cloud platform and services like Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
  • Experience in the energy industry.
  • Experience with design thinking/sprints.

Hi there! I'm Sebastien Schikora, serving as the CTO at Entrix since June 2022. My diverse career journey has provided me with a range of experiences with a deep dive in the energy industry and the functioning of the grid specifically. In the last years, I was: CTO at KONUX from September 2018 to April 2022, where I played a pivotal role in shaping the company's tech landscape and products. Sr. Manager at Tesla from November 2015 to July 2018, leading the development of energy storage systems and mobile apps. Vice President of Product Development at Networked Energy Services (NES) Corporation from October 2014 to November 2015, launching a new company and product line in the grid digitalization space. At Echelon Corporation, I held various roles over six years, including Director of Product Management and Development in the Grid Modernization Division. Before my endeavors in the Energy Industry I was working for Hewlett Packard in the Enterprise Software group for a little over 10 years. I'm all about pushing the boundaries of technology and driving progress in our industry. I spent the majority of my career in the Silicon Valley in California and apply a lot of the methods and drive to my workplace here in Munich.
