Swipe to go back still broken with Zoom navigation transition.
When you use .navigationTransition(.zoom(sourceID: "placeholder", in: placehoder)) for navigation animation, going back using the swipe gesture is still very buggy on IOS26. I know it has been mentioned in other places like here: https://aninterestingwebsite.com/forums/thread/796805?answerId=856846022#856846022 but nothing seems to have been done to fix this issue. Here is a video showing the bug comparing when the back button is used vs swipe to go back: https://imgur.com/a/JgEusRH I wish there was a way to at least disable the swipe back gesture until this bug is fixed.

UIRequiresFullScreen Deprecation
I work on a universal app that targets both iPhone and iPad. Our iPad app currently requires full screen. When testing on the latest iPadOS 26 beta, we see the following warning printed to the console: Update the Info.plist: 1) `UIRequiresFullScreen` will soon be ignored. 2) Support for all orientations will soon be required. It will take a fair amount of effort to update our app to properly support presentation in a resizable window. We wanted to gauge how urgent this change is. Our testing has shown that iPadOS 26 supports our app in a non-resizable window. Can someone from Apple provide any guidance as to how soon “soon” is? Will UIRequiresFullScreen be ignored in iPadOS 26? Will support for all orientations be required in iPadOS 26?

Sheet background in share extension ignores Liquid Glass effect in iOS 26/Xcode 26
I’m developing a share extension for iOS 26 with Xcode 26. When the extension’s sheet appears, it always shows a full white background, even though iOS 26 introduces a new “Liquid Glass” effect for partial sheets. Expected: The sheet background should use the iOS 26 glassmorphism effect as seen in full apps. Actual behavior: Custom sheets in my app get the glass effect, but the native system sheet in the share extension always opens as plain white. Steps to reproduce: Create a share extension using UIKit Present any UIViewController as the main view Set modalPresentationStyle = .pageSheet (or leave as default) Observe solid white background, not glassmorphism Sample code: swift override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() view.backgroundColor = .clear preferredContentSize = CGSize(width: UIScreen.main.bounds.width, height: 300) } Troubleshooting attempted: Tried adding UIVisualEffectView with system blur/materials Removed all custom backgrounds Set modalPresentationStyle explicitly Questions: Is it possible to enable or force the Liquid Glass effect in share extensions on iOS 26? Is this a limitation by design or a potential bug? Any workaround to make extension sheet backgrounds match system glass appearance?

iOS26 UISearchbar and UISearchController cancellation issues
Is the Cancel button intentionally removed from UISearchBar (right side)? Even when using searchController with navigationItem also. showsCancelButton = true doesn’t display the cancel button. Also: When tapping the clear ("x") button inside the search field, the search is getting canceled, and searchBarCancelButtonClicked(_:) is triggered (Generally it should only clear text, not cancel search). If the search text is empty and I tap outside the search bar, the search is canceled. Also when I have tableview in my controller(like recent searches) below search bar and if I try to tap when editing started, action is not triggered(verified in sample too). Just cancellation is happening. In a split view controller, if the search is on the right side and I try to open the side panel, the search also gets canceled. Are these behaviors intentional changes, beta issues, or are we missing something in implementation?

dropDestination does not work inside List
I've discovered an issue with using iOS 16's Transferable drag-and-drop APIs for SwiftUI. The dropDestination modifier does not work when applied to a subview of a List. This code below will not work, unless you replace the List with a VStack or any other container (which, of course, removes all list-specific rendering). The draggable modifier will still work and the item will drag, but the dropDestination view won't react to it and neither closure will be called. struct MyView: View { var body: some View { List { Section { Text("drag this title") .font(.largeTitle) .draggable("a title") } Section { Color.pink .frame(width: 400, height: 400) .dropDestination(for: String.self) { receivedTitles, location in true } isTargeted: { print($0) } } } } } Has anyone encountered this bug and perhaps found a workaround?

Custom NSWindow styleMask behavior changed/broken resulting in unresizable or non-responsive windows in macOS Tahoe 26.3 RC
NSWindow objects with custom styleMask configurations seem to behave erratically in macOS Tahoe 26.3 RC. For example an NSWindow is not resizable after issuing .styleMask.remove(.titled) or some NSWindow-s become totally unresponsive (the NSWindow becomes transparent to mouse events) with custom styleMask-s. This is a radical change compared to how all previous macOS versions or the 26.3 beta3 worked and seriously affects apps that might use custom NSWindows - this includes some system utilities, OSD/HUD apps etc, actually breaking some apps. Such fundamental compatibility altering changes should not be introduced in an RC stage (if this is intentional and not a bug) imho.

iOS 26 Beta breaks scroll/gesture in SwiftUI chat (worked in iOS 18): Simultaneous gestures & ScrollViewReader issues
Hi all, After upgrading to the iOS 26 beta, the scrolling in my SwiftUI chat view is completely broken. The exact same code works perfectly on iOS 18. Context: I have a chat view using ScrollViewReader and a vertically-reversed ScrollView (with .rotationEffect(.degrees(180))). Each message row (MessageBubble) uses multiple simultaneousGesture handlers: Horizontal drag for swipe-to-reply (and other actions: pin, delete) Long press for showing popover/actions Vertical scroll for normal chat scrolling This was working great on iOS 18. In iOS 26 beta, the vertical scroll is either completely disabled, jittery, or hijacked by the message row’s drag gestures, even though .simultaneousGesture is used (see code below). Minimal Repro Sample MessageListView.swift swift Copy Edit ScrollViewReader { proxy in ScrollView(.vertical, showsIndicators: false) { LazyVStack(spacing: 0) { // ... grouped messages ForEach(...) { ... MessageBubble(...) // see below } Color.clear.frame(height: 8).id("BOTTOM_ANCHOR") } .padding(.horizontal, 4) .rotationEffect(.degrees(180)) } .rotationEffect(.degrees(180)) } MessageBubble.swift struct MessageBubble: View { // ... var body: some View { // horizontal swipe-to-reply gesture let dragGesture = DragGesture(minimumDistance: 10) // ... ZStack { // ... HStack { ... } // ... .simultaneousGesture( DragGesture(minimumDistance: 0) // for long press // ... ) .simultaneousGesture(dragGesture) // for horizontal swipe } // ... } }

NavigationSplitView detail view with safearea
Hi, I have a NavigationSplitView with a view in the detail section: NavigationSplitView { ZStack { Color.black.ignoresSafeArea() gradientBlack2Blue.opacity(0.25) .ignoresSafeArea() GeometryReader { p in VStack { List { SidebarViewCell(id: "1", text: "Steuersätze" , type: .TAX_MASTERDATA , selectedMasterdataType: $selectedMasterdataType) }.listRowSpacing(size.height * 1.25 / 100 ) .scrollContentBackground(.hidden) .toolbar(.hidden, for: .navigationBar) .frame(width: p.size.width * 98 / 100 , height: p.size.height, alignment: .topLeading). }alignment: .topLeading) } } } detail: { MasterdataDetailView().ignoresSafeArea() } }.navigationSplitViewStyle(.balanced) When I place a Button-Control in the MasterdataDetailView it cannot be clicked because it is in the safe area. How can I make it clickable? Best Regards, Frank

NSCollectionLayoutBoundarySupplementaryItem background blur covering the entire layout section
My app has the following UI layout: NSSplitViewController as the windows contentViewController NSPageController in the content (right) split item NSTabViewController as the root items of the NSPageController NSViewController with a collection view in the first tab of that NSTabViewController The collection view is using a NSCollectionViewCompositionalLayout in which the sections are set up to have a header using NSCollectionLayoutBoundarySupplementaryItem with pinToVisibleBounds=true and alignment=top With macOS 26, the pinned supplementary item automatically gets a blurred/semi-transparent background that seamlessly integrates with the toolbar. When the window's title bar has a NSTitlebarAccessoryViewController added, the said semi-transparent background gets a bottom hard edge and a hairline to provide more visual separation from the main content. During runtime, my NSPageController transitions from the NSTabViewController to another view controller. When transitioning back, the semi-transparent blur bleeds into the entire section. This happens no matter if there's a NSTitlebarAccessoryViewController added or not. It doesn't happen 100% of the cases, it seems to depend on section size, header visibility and/or scroll position. But it happens more often than not. Most of the time, a second or so after the back transition - shortly after pageControllerDidEndLiveTransition: of the NSPageControllerDelegate is called - the view updates and the supplementary views are back to normal. Sometimes, the issue also appears not when transitioning using NSPageController, but simply by scrolling through the collection view. Anyone has an idea what is happening here? Below are two screenshots of both the "ok" and "not ok" state I'm on macOS 26.0.1 and I'm using XCode 26.0.1

Button in ToolbarItem is not completely tapable on iOS 26
I have an icon button in toolbar but only the icon is triggering tap events while outside icon button gives tap feedback but event is not firing. Code: ToolbarItem(placement: .navigationBarTrailing) { Button(action: toggleBookmark) { Image(systemName: isBookmarked ? "bookmark.fill" : "bookmark") .resizable() .aspectRatio(0.8, contentMode: .fit) .frame(width: 20, height: 20) } } Here toggleBookmark function is only called if I click on Image but not if I click outside image but on the circular button that appears on iOS 26. See this screen recording.

Widget link broken by `.desaturated` image rendering mode
Using desaturated mode on an image in a widget will break any links or buttons that use the image as their 'label'. Using the following will just open the app as if there was no link at all - therefore just using the fallback userActivity handler, or any .widgetURL() urls provided. Link(destination: URL(string: "bug://never-works")!) { Image("puppy") .widgetAccentedRenderingMode(.desaturated) } The same goes for buttons: Button(intent: MyDemoIntent()) { Image("puppy") .widgetAccentedRenderingMode(.desaturated) } I've tried hacky solutions like putting the link behind the image using a ZStack, and disabling hit testing on the image, but they don't work. Anything else to try? Logged as Feedback #15152620.

NSScrollView scrolling hitch
When scrolling a basic NSScrollView there seems to be a sudden jump after each flick. Scrolling does not appear smooth and is disorientating. A scroll jump seems to happen directly after letting go of a scroll flick using a trackpad/mouse. Right at that moment the scroll turns into a momentum scroll, slowly decreasing the speed. But the first frame after the gesture the content jumps forward, more than what is expected. Observations: Counterintuitively, scrolling appears to be smoother when disabling NSScrollView.isCompatibleWithResponsiveScrolling. If disabled using a custom NSScrollView subclass there is no large jump anymore. Scrolling also appears to be smoother using a SwiftUI ScrollView. I assume that has the same behaviour as a disabled isCompatibleWithResponsiveScrolling Ironically a WKWebView scrolls much smoother. No sudden jump is observable. It also seems to scroll with faster acceleration, but the individual frames do appear smoother. Why is this better than a native NSScrollView? Elastic scrolling at the bounds of the scroll view also appears much smoother for WKWebViews. When pulling to refresh there is a jump for NSScrollView/SwiftUI, but not for WKWebView. When using an NSScrollView with isCompatibleWithResponsiveScrolling disabled, scrolling appears just as smooth as WKWebView on macOS 13 Ventura and below. On macOS 14 Sonoma scrolling behaviour is suddenly different. Please see a sample project with 4 different scroll views side by side: https://github.com/floorish/ScrollTest Screen recordings show the sudden jumps when scrolling and when elastic scrolling. Tested on Intel & Arm Macs, macOS 11 Big Sur through 15 Sequoia, built with Xcode 16. Should isCompatibleWithResponsiveScrolling be disabled on Sonoma+? Are there any drawbacks? There is also no overdraw anymore since Monterey, as described in https://aninterestingwebsite.com/library/archive/releasenotes/AppKit/RN-AppKitOlderNotes/#10_9Scrolling Even with responsive scrolling disabled, why is WKWebView scrolling much smoother than NSScrollView?

iOS 26.1 PHPickerConfiguration.preselectedAssetIdentifiers doesn't select previous pictures in the PHPickerViewController
Hi, I faced with the issue on iOS 26.1 with PHPickerViewController. After first selection I save assetIdentifier of PHPickerResult for images. next time I open the picker I expect to have the images selected based on assetIdentifier Code: var config = PHPickerConfiguration(photoLibrary: .shared()) config.selectionLimit = 10 config.filter = .images config.preselectedAssetIdentifiers = images.compactMap(\.assetID) let picker = PHPickerViewController(configuration: config) picker.delegate = self present(picker, animated: true) But on iOS 26.1 they aren't selected. On lower iOS version all works fine. Does anybody faced with similar issue?

.glassEffect(_in:) crushing on iOS 26 public beta.
In one of my apps, i am using .glassEffect(_:In) to add glass effect on various elements. The app always crushes when a UI element with glassEffect(_in:) modifier is being rendered. This only happens on device running iOS 26 public beta. I know this for certain because I connected the particular device to xcode and run the app on the device. When i comment out the glassEffect modifier, app doesn't crush. Is it possible to check particular realeases with #available? If not, how should something like this be handled. Also how do i handle such os level erros without the app crushing. Thanks.

[iOSAppOnMac] ShareKit: Crashes in SHKItemIsPDF() or -[SHKSaveToFilesSharingService saveFileURL:completion:]
I have a custom document-based iOS app that also runs on macOS. After implementing -activityItemsConfiguration to enable sharing from the context menu, I found that the app crashes on macOS when selecting Share… from the context menu and then selecting Save (i.e. Save to Files under iOS). This problem does not occur on iOS, which behaves correctly. - (id<UIActivityItemsConfigurationReading>)activityItemsConfiguration { NSItemProvider * provider = [[NSItemProvider alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:self.document.presentedItemURL]; UIActivityItemsConfiguration * configuration = [UIActivityItemsConfiguration activityItemsConfigurationWithItemProviders:@[ provider ]]; // XXX crashes with com.apple.share.System.SaveToFiles return configuration; } Additionally, I found that to even reach this crash, the workaround implemented in the NSItemProvider (FBxxx) category of the sample project is needed. Without this, the app will crash much earlier, due to SHKItemIsPDF() erroneously invoking -pathExtension on an NSItemProvider. This appears to be a second bug in Apple’s private ShareKit framework. #import <UniformTypeIdentifiers/UniformTypeIdentifiers.h> @implementation NSItemProvider (FBxxx) // XXX SHKItemIsPDF() invokes -pathExtension on an NSItemProvider (when running under macOS, anyway) -> crash - (NSString *)pathExtension { return self.registeredContentTypes.firstObject.preferredFilenameExtension; } @end Again, this all works fine on iOS (17.5) but crashes when the exact same app build is running on macOS (14.5). I believe these bugs are Apple's. Any idea how to avoid the crash? Is there a way to disable the "Save to Files" option in the sharing popup? I filed FB13819800 with a sample project that demonstrates the crash on macOS. I was going to file a TSI to get this resolved, but I see that DTS is not responding to tech support incidents until after WWDC.

How to access clear Liquid Glass Effect?
On WWDC25 session "Meet Liquid Glass", two Liquid Glass variants are mentioned: "regular" and "clear". "Regular" seems to be the default setting for UIGlassEffect, but I was not able to find an option for clear. Is there a native element that uses clear? Is it coming to later betas for iOS 26?

'tabViewBottomAccessory' leaves an empty accessory area when conditionally hidden
We use SwiftUI's .tabViewBottomAccessory in our iOS apps for displaying an Audio MiniPlayer View (like in the Apple Music App). TabView(selection: $viewModel.selectedTab) { // Tabs here } .tabViewBottomAccessory { if viewModel.showAudioMiniPlayer { MiniPlayerView() } } The Problem This code works perfectly on iOS 26.0. When viewModel.showAudioMiniPlayer is false, the accessory is completely hidden. However, on iOS 26.1 (23B5059e), when 'viewModel.showAudioMiniPlayer' becomes false, the MiniPlayerView disappears, but an empty container remains, leaving a blank space above the tab bar. Is this a known Bug in iOS 26.1 and are there any effective workarounds?

EditMode & EditButton not working in a way I expect
I have something that looks like: NavigationStack { List(self.items, id: \.self, selection: self.$selectedItems) { item in NavigationLink { ItemView(item: item) .environment(\.managedObjectContext, self.viewContext) } label: { LabelWithMenuView(object: item) { ptr in self.labelHandler(item: item, newName: ptr) } } } if self.editMode?.wrappedValue == .active { editButtons } else { TextField("Add Item", text: self.$newItem) .onSubmit { self.addItem() self.newItem = "" } .padding() } } #if os(iOS) .toolbar { EditButton() } .onChange(of: self.editMode?.wrappedValue) { old, new in print("editMode \(old) -> \(new)") } #endif With that layout, the edit button doesn't show up at all; if I put it as part of the List, it does show up, but the first click doesn't do anything; after that, it works, but the onChange handler doesn't show it getting changed, and the editButtons don't go away.

Incorrect system color on popover view, and does not update while switching dark mode on iOS 26 beta 3
All system colors are displayed incorrectly on the popover view. Those are the same views present as a popover in light and dark mode. And those are the same views present as modal. And there is also a problem that when the popover is presented, switching to dark/light mode will not change the appearance. That affected all system apps. The following screenshot is already in dark mode. All those problem are occured on iOS 26 beta 3.
