ModelEntity position values are stale after world recenter (Crown long press)
Hi everyone, I’m working with RealityKit on visionOS and I’m seeing unexpected behavior when the user long-presses the Digital Crown, which recenters the world. Observed behavior: When the world is recentered via long-pressing the Crown, the models remain visually in the correct place (as expected). However, if I query the model’s position or transform immediately after recentering (e.g. entity.position or similar), I still get the old values from before recenter. As soon as I interact with the model using a gesture (drag/rotate/scale), the position updates and then querying it returns the correct, updated values. So effectively: Recenter happens Visual position is correct Programmatic position remains stale First gesture causes the position to “snap” to the correct updated value Questions: Is there any event, notification, or callback that fires when the world is recentered due to a long press of the Crown button? Is there a recommended way to get the updated world-space transform immediately after recenter, without waiting for a gesture? Is this expected behavior due to deferred/lazy transform updates in RealityKit? Right now it feels like recentering updates the coordinate system but doesn’t immediately commit new transform values to entities until some interaction occurs. Any guidance or best-practice patterns for handling this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Spatial Gallery App functionality
Similar to the visionOS Spatial Gallery app, I'm developing a visionOS app that will show spatial photos and videos. Is it possible to re-create the horizontal (or a vertical) scrolling functionality that shows spatial photos and spatial video previews? Does the Spatial Gallery app use private APIs to create this functionality? I've been looking at the Quick Look documentation and have been able to use the PreviewApplication to show a single preview, but do not see anything for a collection of files as the Spatial Gallery app presents in the scrolling view. Any insights or direction on how this may be done is greatly appreciated.

HoverEffectStyle in visionOS 26.0
This is no longer highlighting my entity when looking at it: RealityView { content let hoverComponent = HoverEffectComponent(.spotlight( HoverEffectComponent.SpotlightHoverEffectStyle( color: .white, strength: 2.0 ) )) entity.components.set(hoverComponent) The entity is in a window. The same code works in an immersive view. Collision Component and Input type are set in RCP. It's also stopped working on my published app (built under visionOS 2.x) using my visionOS 26 device. If I use a 2.x simulator, it works. Is this a bug or is there something I'm missing? Thanks.

Getting the world position of a QR code
Hi, would love for your help in that matter. I try to get the position in space of two QR codes to make an alignment to their positions in space. The detection shows that the QR codes position is always 0,0,0 and I don't understand why. How to play blend shape animations or morph animations exported from blender in Vision Pro apps using Reality Kit
So I am exporting a .usdc file from blender that already has some morph animations. The animations play well in blender but when I export I cannot seem to play them in RealityKit or RCP. Entity.availableAnimations is an empty array. Not of the child objects in the entity hierarchy has an animation library component with it. Maybe I am exporting it wrong but I tried multiple combinations but doesn't seem to work. Here are my export settings in blender The original file I purchased is an FBX file that has the animation but when I try to directly get it in RealityConverter it doesn't seem to play animations.

Attaching a hand model to your hands
Hi, we have been working on an application that attaches a hand model to the users hands. Apple provides an animating hand models in visionOS project that is a useful starting point. https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/visionOS/animating-hand-models-in-visionOS We have been trying to create our own hand model to attach but have had some issues with how it is attaching to the hand. For our hand model we want to include the forearm all the way up to the users elbow. I have attached a sample project of what our code currently looks like so you can run it. Just select show immersive space to attach the models. The left hand model is the space glove that we were trying to mirror. The right hand model is our model that we have been using. I have mapped each of the joints to the pertaining joint name on our model. The first issue we are having seems to be based around the placement of the forearm. It attaches itself at the wrist. The second issue seems to be around rotation. Our team is looking for some guidance on what needs to change in order to map this model correctly. Thanks in advance!

How to create a MultiplayerDelegate and use TabletopNetworkSession features?
When building a multiplayer Tabletop game, the documentation includes how to attach a custom TabletopNetworkSessionCoordinator, which could be used in addition to TabletopGame.MultiplayerDelegate. But so far, we have been unable to create these types of custom coordinators or have a delegate that works. Our current setup with our generic GroupActivity works by sending the session to TabletopGame's coordinateWithSession method (like in the current sample project), but we didn't find a way to access and control, for example, the arbiter, seats, player events, among other features mentioned on https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/tabletopkit/tabletopnetworksession. Is correct to expect having access to the participants, messenger, or journal without having to maintain a parallel coordinator?   possibly we are missing something here; any suggestions?

Multiple-frames BlendShape (failed) Animation in Reality Composer Pro
Goal: To render in an apple vision pro app, the solid-mechanics 3D simulation results coming form an FEA code. Starting point: I have surface vtks with deformations on each node. Each time step has a a mesh with the nodal coordinates. This is straighforward translatable to a usd MeshSequence. Unfortunately, the results cannot be simplified to a scaling o linear transformation as you would do with other game-oriented animations. Tools: Right now, I am using Xcode and reality composer pro (RCP) to build the scenes. Technical limitations: I am aware that RCP can do animations with BlendMesh and skeletons and that MeshSequence is not a problem. Progress: Coverting to the sequence of vtk meshes to a usd MeshSequence is straighforward. This animates correctly in Preview and Blender (see screenshot). I managed to convert from MeshSequence to multiple keys and BlendMesh. This also animates correctly in Blender and preview. Unfortunately, the BlendMesh of multiple blended meshes shows a zero animation time in RCP (see screenshot below) Also, see below usda file scheme for the animation. Of course I am not showing full vectors such as faceVertexCounts, faceVertexIndex, normals. Question: what is the right set up to create a BlendMesh animation that RCP will correctly import and animate, form a set of Meshes or multiple key shapes? version update in Vision Pro

Unexpected behavior when writing entities and loading realityFiles.
I have a simple visionOS app that creates an Entity, writes it to the device, and then attempts to load it. However, when the entity file get overwritten, it affects the ability for the app to load it correctly. Guided Access - Detect when setup (Eyes + Hands) is done
Hello, I am building a kiosk-style app for VisionOS which will be used in Guided Access mode, to be given to various visitors. So each of them will do hands + eyes setup, standard Guided Access thing. I want my experience to auto-start playing content when setup is done. I looked everywhere, but found no way do detect whether setup is complete? Also adding any kind of interface to start the app manually is risky, since buttons etc remain visible an interactable WHILE setup takes place. Delay-based approach also wont work, since setup can be skipped, or failed, or be done quickly, slowly... So it takes between 10 seconds and a few minutes. So the question is - is there any way to get notification, or check some bool or something that will tell me that Hands + Eyes setup in Guided mode is complete (or skipped)? Thanks in advance!

Performance drop when particle emitter is combined with video play
Hi All, We're a studio building an app and as part of a scene we have a 3D asset with a smoke particle emitter and a curved mesh that plays video. I notice that when the video alone is played or the particle effect alone is done then the scene works fine but the frame rate drops drastically when both are turned on. How do I solve this because this is an important storytelling feature.

TextComponent on iOS/macOS pixelated when viewed from short distance
Hello, I've been tinkering a bit with TextComponent. Based on the docs it seems like this component should always render sharp and nice text, no matter how close the user gets: RealityKit dynamically adjusts the backing size to a value that results in high-fidelity text at its current location. And it does on visionOS, but on iOS and macOS the text gets pixelated when I get close to it, as if its just rendering it once as a plain image texture. Can anyone tell me if this is expected behavior or a bug? Here two screenshots for comparison (iPhone and Vision Pro): Thanks!

Hello, I'm currently trying to make a collaborative app. But it just works only on Reality View, when I tried to use Compositor Layer like below, the personas disappeared. ModelEntity position values are stale after world recenter (Crown long press)
Hi everyone, I’m working with RealityKit on visionOS and I’m seeing unexpected behavior when the user long-presses the Digital Crown, which recenters the world. Observed behavior: When the world is recentered via long-pressing the Crown, the models remain visually in the correct place (as expected). However, if I query the model’s position or transform immediately after recentering (e.g. entity.position or similar), I still get the old values from before recenter. As soon as I interact with the model using a gesture (drag/rotate/scale), the position updates and then querying it returns the correct, updated values. So effectively: Recenter happens Visual position is correct Programmatic position remains stale First gesture causes the position to “snap” to the correct updated value Questions: Is there any event, notification, or callback that fires when the world is recentered due to a long press of the Crown button? Is there a recommended way to get the updated world-space transform immediately after recenter, without waiting for a gesture? Is this expected behavior due to deferred/lazy transform updates in RealityKit? Right now it feels like recentering updates the coordinate system but doesn’t immediately commit new transform values to entities until some interaction occurs. Any guidance or best-practice patterns for handling this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Spatial Gallery App functionality
Similar to the visionOS Spatial Gallery app, I'm developing a visionOS app that will show spatial photos and videos. Is it possible to re-create the horizontal (or a vertical) scrolling functionality that shows spatial photos and spatial video previews? Does the Spatial Gallery app use private APIs to create this functionality? I've been looking at the Quick Look documentation and have been able to use the PreviewApplication to show a single preview, but do not see anything for a collection of files as the Spatial Gallery app presents in the scrolling view. Any insights or direction on how this may be done is greatly appreciated.

HoverEffectStyle in visionOS 26.0

The same code works in an immersive view. Collision Component and Input type are set in RCP. It's also stopped working on my published app (built under visionOS 2.x) using my visionOS 26 device. If I use a 2.x simulator, it works. Is this a bug or is there something I'm missing? Thanks.

Getting the world position of a QR code
Hi, would love for your help in that matter. I try to get the position in space of two QR codes to make an alignment to their positions in space. The detection shows that the QR codes position is always 0,0,0 and I don't understand why. How to play blend shape animations or morph animations exported from blender in Vision Pro apps using Reality Kit
So I am exporting a .usdc file from blender that already has some morph animations. The animations play well in blender but when I export I cannot seem to play them in RealityKit or RCP. Entity.availableAnimations is an empty array. Not of the child objects in the entity hierarchy has an animation library component with it. Maybe I am exporting it wrong but I tried multiple combinations but doesn't seem to work. Here are my export settings in blender The original file I purchased is an FBX file that has the animation but when I try to directly get it in RealityConverter it doesn't seem to play animations.

Attaching a hand model to your hands
Hi, we have been working on an application that attaches a hand model to the users hands. Apple provides an animating hand models in visionOS project that is a useful starting point. https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/visionOS/animating-hand-models-in-visionOS We have been trying to create our own hand model to attach but have had some issues with how it is attaching to the hand. For our hand model we want to include the forearm all the way up to the users elbow. I have attached a sample project of what our code currently looks like so you can run it. Just select show immersive space to attach the models. The left hand model is the space glove that we were trying to mirror. The right hand model is our model that we have been using. I have mapped each of the joints to the pertaining joint name on our model. The first issue we are having seems to be based around the placement of the forearm. It attaches itself at the wrist. The second issue seems to be around rotation. Our team is looking for some guidance on what needs to change in order to map this model correctly. Thanks in advance!

How to create a MultiplayerDelegate and use TabletopNetworkSession features?
When building a multiplayer Tabletop game, the documentation includes how to attach a custom TabletopNetworkSessionCoordinator, which could be used in addition to TabletopGame.MultiplayerDelegate. But so far, we have been unable to create these types of custom coordinators or have a delegate that works. Our current setup with our generic GroupActivity works by sending the session to TabletopGame's coordinateWithSession method (like in the current sample project), but we didn't find a way to access and control, for example, the arbiter, seats, player events, among other features mentioned on https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/tabletopkit/tabletopnetworksession. Is correct to expect having access to the participants, messenger, or journal without having to maintain a parallel coordinator?   possibly we are missing something here; any suggestions?

Multiple-frames BlendShape (failed) Animation in Reality Composer Pro
Goal: To render in an apple vision pro app, the solid-mechanics 3D simulation results coming form an FEA code. Starting point: I have surface vtks with deformations on each node. Each time step has a a mesh with the nodal coordinates. This is straighforward translatable to a usd MeshSequence. Unfortunately, the results cannot be simplified to a scaling o linear transformation as you would do with other game-oriented animations. Tools: Right now, I am using Xcode and reality composer pro (RCP) to build the scenes. Technical limitations: I am aware that RCP can do animations with BlendMesh and skeletons and that MeshSequence is not a problem. Progress: Coverting to the sequence of vtk meshes to a usd MeshSequence is straighforward. This animates correctly in Preview and Blender (see screenshot). I managed to convert from MeshSequence to multiple keys and BlendMesh. This also animates correctly in Blender and preview. Unfortunately, the BlendMesh of multiple blended meshes shows a zero animation time in RCP (see screenshot below) Also, see below usda file scheme for the animation. Of course I am not showing full vectors such as faceVertexCounts, faceVertexIndex, normals. Unexpected behavior when writing entities and loading realityFiles.
I have a simple visionOS app that creates an Entity, writes it to the device, and then attempts to load it. However, when the entity file get overwritten, it affects the ability for the app to load it correctly. The order of operations to make this happen: Launch app Press "Save Entity" to save the entity "Open Immersive Space" to view entity Press "Save Entity" to overwrite the entity "Open Immersive Space" to view entity, failed asset load request Also Launch app, the entity should still be save from last time the app ran "Open Immersive Space" to view entity Press "Save Entity" to overwrite the entity "Open Immersive Space" to view entity, failed asset load request NOTE: It appears I can get it to work slightly better by pressing the "Save Entity" button twice before attempting to view it again in the immersive space.

Guided Access - Detect when setup (Eyes + Hands) is done
Hello, I am building a kiosk-style app for VisionOS which will be used in Guided Access mode, to be given to various visitors. So each of them will do hands + eyes setup, standard Guided Access thing. I want my experience to auto-start playing content when setup is done. I looked everywhere, but found no way do detect whether setup is complete? Also adding any kind of interface to start the app manually is risky, since buttons etc remain visible an interactable WHILE setup takes place. Delay-based approach also wont work, since setup can be skipped, or failed, or be done quickly, slowly... So it takes between 10 seconds and a few minutes. So the question is - is there any way to get notification, or check some bool or something that will tell me that Hands + Eyes setup in Guided mode is complete (or skipped)? Thanks in advance!

Performance drop when particle emitter is combined with video play
Hi All, We're a studio building an app and as part of a scene we have a 3D asset with a smoke particle emitter and a curved mesh that plays video. I notice that when the video alone is played or the particle effect alone is done then the scene works fine but the frame rate drops drastically when both are turned on. How do I solve this because this is an important storytelling feature.

TextComponent on iOS/macOS pixelated when viewed from short distance
Hello, I've been tinkering a bit with TextComponent. Based on the docs it seems like this component should always render sharp and nice text, no matter how close the user gets: RealityKit dynamically adjusts the backing size to a value that results in high-fidelity text at its current location. And it does on visionOS, but on iOS and macOS the text gets pixelated when I get close to it, as if its just rendering it once as a plain image texture. Can anyone tell me if this is expected behavior or a bug? Here two screenshots for comparison (iPhone and Vision Pro): Thanks!

Is it possible to play Fisheye VR180 video directly?
Hi I know it's possible to play equirectangular VR180 video either SBS or MV-HEVC. And for fisheye video, the only way I know is to convert it into an AIVU for playback. Is there any way to directly play fisheye video using AVPlayer? Thanks a lot!

Metal Compositor Service & Persona (VisionOS)
Hello, I'm currently trying to make a collaborative app. But it just works only on Reality View, when I tried to use Compositor Layer like below, the personas disappeared.
