Hi everyone, I’m working on a web project developed on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), where we’ve built a custom component that embeds Apple Podcasts episodes using the official iframe provided via https://embed.podcasts.apple.com. Everything works correctly from a rendering point of view, but we are now exploring ways to track user interactions with the embedded player, specifically events such as: start, play, pause, progress milestones (e.g. 25%, 50%, etc.). This data would be used to send analytics events to Adobe Analytics. So far, we haven’t found any documentation or JavaScript API that would allow us to listen to these events. We'd like to ask: Is there any official way to track playback events from an Apple Podcasts iframe? Any information, clarification, or direction would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance! Hey everyone, After installing iOS 26 beta, I started noticing unexpected behavior in our input event handlers. Specifically, when users type into an field, event.target.value is always an empty string — but only when the JS file is loaded from a specific domain (e.g., t1.daumcdn.net). The exact same code works perfectly when hosted on other domains like t2.daumcdn.net or search1.daumcdn.net. 👉 I created a demo here: 🔗 CodePen Demo The scripts loaded from each domain are 100% identical (apart from the top-level selector). Before iOS 26 beta, this worked fine. I suspect this is related to ITP or some new cross-origin behavior in Safari, but I’d love to know if anyone else is running into this — or if someone knows a workaround. Thanks!

Since the transition to iOS 18.4, we have been having an issue where when loading an m3u8 file specified in the src attribute of a video tag in WKWebView, the ts file is loaded repeatedly. Are there any good ideas for this? Also, if there have been any changes to the specifications of WKWebView, we would appreciate it if you could let us know.

Hello! I have a few questions about integrating an OAuth2 API into my Swift application. I am using this API to access user data from the website (users will authenticate themselves within the app). I have seen other apps use this API in the way that I am describing it so I know that it is possible. However, I am not sure how to implement it. Are there any recommended ways to use an OAuth2 API in my application? The API that I am using does not specifically say that it supports PKCE. However, I have heard from some sources that it does. If it does not support PKCE, how do I still create a secure app infrastructure that will pass App Store Review? At a more basic level, what is the difference between OAuth2 and PKCE? What should I use in my app? Are there any resources to learn a little bit more about these protocols so that I understand them better? Thanks!

Dear Apple Developer Support, I’m developing a Chromium-based iOS browser and want to open the Safari settings page (Settings → Apps→ Safari) like Chrome’s “Import data from Safari” feature, where clicking “Go to settings” opens the Safari settings page. To reproduce this behavior in Chrome: 1.In Chrome, search “Import password from Safari.” 2.Restart Chrome. 3.Go to Chrome → Settings → Safari import → Import to Chrome → Go to settings. 4.You will see it opens Settings → Apps → Safari. Please see the attached file for steps to trigger this feature in Chrome. My attempt with App-Prefs:root=SAFARI only opens the Settings main page ,Is there a public API to open the Safari settings page directly? Look forward to your reply,many thanks

Hi! I'm working on a web extension for Safari and I need to send messages from the containing application to JavaScript. For this I use the method class func dispatchMessage( withName messageName: String, toExtensionWithIdentifier identifier: String, userInfo: [String : Any]? = nil ) async throws of the SFSafariApplication class. If the site is opened in Safari in normal mode, everything works as expected. However, if the site is "docked", the messages are not transmitted to this "Web App". Is it possible to somehow link the container application to the docked website so that messages from the application are received by this "Web App"? That you.

With most recent Safari update, our page started having some of it's core functionality broken while users access it on Private mode due to Fingerprinting protection. The issue is that the code that breaks is our first-party code and I want understand why it is breaking and how to properly fix it. One thing we discovered was that a service of ours that uses the same code base doesn't have these issues and current assumption is that their page bundles are served on the same domain as the actual page request, while ours is coming from a different one. The other assumption was that the domain which we use for serving the bundles of the page are set on the domain that is flagged as tracking domain. Is there some documentation on how Safari decides which code is allowed reading user inputs and which isn't and what is the appropriate approach to fix this issue as it would be possible that these changes get release as default in the future?

I'm building a macOS Google Chrome extension. I need to be able to send messages from the Chrome extension to the macOS app What's the set up flow? I've heard about native messaging, but I struggle to implement it. I've heard about XPC, but not sure JS can send messages to a macOS XPC service.

After updating to iOS 18.4, our web application (with service workers) crashes on devices that accessed it prior to the update. This issue also affects hybrid mobile apps using the same web application; reinstalling the app resolves it by refetching and reinstalling service workers. Debugging is challenging because clearing the cache or reinstalling the app fixes the problem, and no useful error logs are available. Has anyone encountered similar crashes related to service workers after an iOS update and have any insights into the cause?

Hello, I'm using Safari 18.2 on Sonoma 14.6.1. I was using the Developer Tools to do a Local Request Override in the Source tab for a CSS file that had a changing query string. I thought I had a good regular expression to catch all variants, but apparently it was too generic and possibly wrong, and made both Source and Network tabs no longer work in my Safari. The regular expression I entered for the Local Request Override was: //build/style.css(?.*)?$ Now my dev tools is broken to the extent that the Source and Network tabs no longer work. The slide-out panel on Source that shows Breakpoints, LocalOverrides, etc no longer shows. The toggle for it does, but does nothing now. UI in general looks a little wack on both tabs. So, since I can't turn off the Local Request Override, I've been trying to locate where Safari may have stored it to manually delete it. Not having a lot of luck on that front. It seems to me that Safari was unable to escape my regular expression correctly and it then causes additional issue. Just a guess though. Any advice or help in getting Safari Source & Network working again / manual removal of the LocalOverride would be greatly appreciated. I'm fluent in OSX and Linux, but grep was not much help surfacing anything that worked. Thanks in Advance, possibly a Safari bug as well.

Hello, We are developing a Safari Web Extension that uses a cookie-based authentication mechanism. The extension makes a request to an endpoint e.g. /login, and this endpoint expects a cookie (e.g., sessionId) to be included with the request. Everything works correctly when running in the default Safari profile. However, when I install and run the same extension in a new, non-default profile, the behaviour changes: The request to /login is still made The cookie sent is not as expected As a result, the response returns null user data I confirmed that logging into the site in the new profile (in a tab) works, but the extension does not appear to share the session/cookie state with the login tab We’ve tried explicitly setting "credentials": "include" in the request but that still didn’t share the cookie in the extension context in the non-default profile. My questions: Is there away to allow cookie-based session sharing between a tab and an extension in non-default profiles in safari? Would switching to a token-based auth mechanism (e.g., Bearer tokens ) be the recommended workaround? I’d appreciate any insights or guidance from those who’ve run into similar issues.

Safari Web Extension for enterprice distribution: If I press run button on xcode it shows the safari web extension toggle and works perfect When installed through exported ipa, the web extension toggle dissapears, it doesnt matter how it was installed through mdm, link, or directly ipa from xcode I just exported an ipa as debugging and it worked when I pushed the ipa

If we use webView.loadFileURL(indexURL, allowingReadAccessTo: readAccessURL) on an iPad it loads the data and navigation works. But if we place two hands on top of the screen and move a bit, all click events are not working anymore. It works again if we call loadFileURL again. We filled a bug report: FB19812304

We confirmed a problem at Safari on iPadOS 18.2 or after version. For confirmation, we made a HTML document (see below HTML1) what include ‘method="POST" target="_blank"’ and tested the form however server received GET method and there is no parameter, server did not receive “id” parameter. We confirmed that fact in captured packet and log file that on the server. HTML1: We also made another HTML document (see below HTML2) what include submit button, but the server received GET method as above. HTML2: And we also confirmed that it behaves differently depending on the network environment. If the form targets a name that does not exist (ex. target=” A12345”), behaves differently http or https. http: Safari opened new tag, but the server received GET method. Normally, Safari open new tag and the server receive POST method. https: Safari opened new tag, and the server received POST method. It is normally. If the form targets ‘_blank’, the server received GET method on http or https both. We think Safari change the method POST to GET and delete parameters. It is not conformed to the HTML specification if is that true. We confirmed it was not happened at Safari on iPadOS 17.4, and Windows PC (Edge, Chrome). The method what the server received is POST.
