The files generated using AVAudioRecorder have a constant size of only 4kb
Hello. My app uses AVAudioRecorder to generate recording files, which are consistently only 4kb in size. Most users generate audio files normally, with only a few users experiencing this phenomenon occasionally. After uninstalling and installing the app, it will work normally, but it will reappear after a period of time. I have compared that the problematic audio files generated each time are fixed and cannot be played. Added the audioRecorderDidFinishRecording proxy method, which shows that the recording was completed normally. The user also reported that the recording is normal, but there is a problem with the generated file. How should I handle this issue? Look forward to your reply. - (void)startRecordWithOrderID:(NSString *)orderID { AVAudioSession *audioSession = [AVAudioSession sharedInstance]; [audioSession setCategory:AVAudioSessionCategoryRecord error:nil]; [audioSession setActive:YES error:nil]; NSMutableDictionary *settings = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] init]; [settings setObject:[NSNumber numberWithFloat: 8000.0] forKey:AVSampleRateKey]; [settings setObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt: kAudioFormatLinearPCM] forKey:AVFormatIDKey]; [settings setObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt:16] forKey:AVLinearPCMBitDepthKey]; [settings setObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt: 1] forKey:AVNumberOfChannelsKey]; [settings setObject:[NSNumber numberWithBool:NO] forKey:AVLinearPCMIsBigEndianKey]; [settings setObject:[NSNumber numberWithBool:NO] forKey:AVLinearPCMIsFloatKey]; NSString *path = [WDUtility createDirInDocument:@"audios" withOrderID:orderID withPathExtension:@"wav"]; NSURL *tmpFile = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:path]; recorder = [[AVAudioRecorder alloc] initWithURL:tmpFile settings:settings error:nil]; [recorder setDelegate:self]; [recorder prepareToRecord]; [recorder record]; }

EXT-X-DISCONTINUITY misalignment
We encounter issue with avplayer in case of EXT-X-DISCONTINUITY misalignment between audio and video produced after insertion of gaps. The initial objective is to introduce an EXT-X-DISCONTINUITY in audio playlist after some missing segments (EXT-X-GAP) which durations are aligned to video segments durations, to handle irregular audio durations. Unexpected artist names in song table
Hi team, In the Apple Music Feed datasets, we've noticed some unexpected values in the song and album tables. The primaryartists column from either song or album may contain a "non-default" artist name such as the katakana name shown in the example below: select id, name, namedefault, primaryartists from amf_song where id = '1698723329' id | name | namedefault | primaryartists ---------------------------------------- 1698723329 | {default=California} | California | [{id=1264818718, name=チャペル・ローン}] select * from amf_artist where id = '1264818718' id | name | namedefault | namepronunciation | ---------------------------------------------- 1264818718 | {default=Chappell Roan, ja=チャペル・ローン} | Chappell Roan | {ja=チャペルローン} | Shouldn't the primaryartists column be showing the namedefault instead of the Japanese language version? When can we expect this bug to resolved? Thanks,

Mac Catalyst: AUv3 Extension no longer works on MacOS, still works on iOS
I have a Catalyst app ('container') which hosts an embedded AUv3 Audio Unit extension ('plugin'). This used to work for years and has worked with this project until a few days ago. it still works on iOS as expected on MacOS the extension is never registered/installed and won't load extension won't show up with AUVal seems to have stopped working with the 26.1 XCode update I'm fairly certain the problem is not code related (i.e. likely build settings, project settings, entitlements, signing, etc.) I have compared all settings with another still-working project and can't find any meaningful difference (I can't request code-level support because even the minimal thing vastly exceeds the 250 lines of code limit.) How can I debug the issue? I literally don't know where to start to fix this problem, short of rebuilding the entire thing and hope that it magically starts working again.

Repeat song listens not queryable
Hi all, I've been working on some personal programming projects and have gotten into using the Apple Music API. I'm currently looking to get a list of recent songs using the /v1/me/recent/played/tracks endpoint and it's working well. However, I know there are some songs I've listened to multiple times in a row, and those are not showing up as unique tracks when querying this endpoint. I'm only seeing a list of the different songs I've listened to lately, not a true list of the most recent plays on my account. Is this intended behavior or am I going about something incorrectly here? My query is using that endpoint & specifying the types to be only [songs]. Thanks in advance for any ideas or insight.

ScaleTimeRange will cause noise in sound
I'm using AVFoundation to make a multi-track editor app, which can insert multiple track and clip, including scale some clip to change the speed of the clip, (also I'm not sure whether AVFoundation the best choice for me) but after making the scale with scaleTimeRange API, there is some short noise sound in play back. Also, sometimes it's fine when play AVMutableCompostion using AVPlayer with AVPlayerItem, but after exporting with AVAssetReader, will catch some short noise sounds in result file.... Not sure why. Here is the example project, which can build and run directly. https://github.com/luckysmg/daily_images/raw/refs/heads/main/TestDemo.zip

Switching default input/output channels using Core Audio
I wrote a Swift macOS app to control a PCI audio device. The code switches between the default output and input channels. As soon as I launch the Audio-Midi Setup utility, channel switching stops working. The driver properties allow switching, but the system doesn't respond. I have to delete the contents of /Library/Preferences/Audio and reset Core Audio. What am I missing? func setDefaultChannelsOutput() { guard let deviceID = getDeviceIDByName(deviceName: "PCI-424") else { return } let selectedIndex = DefaultChannelsOutput.indexOfSelectedItem if selectedIndex < 0 || selectedIndex >= 24 { return } let channel1 = UInt32(selectedIndex * 2 + 1) let channel2 = UInt32(selectedIndex * 2 + 2) var channels: [UInt32] = [channel1, channel2] var propertyAddress = AudioObjectPropertyAddress( mSelector: kAudioDevicePropertyPreferredChannelsForStereo, mScope: kAudioDevicePropertyScopeOutput, mElement: kAudioObjectPropertyElementWildcard ) let dataSize = UInt32(MemoryLayout<UInt32>.size * channels.count) let status = AudioObjectSetPropertyData(deviceID, &propertyAddress, 0, nil, dataSize, &channels) if status != noErr { print("Error setting default output channels: \(status)") } }

Apple Music playlist create/delete works but DELETE returns 401 — and MusicKit write APIs are macOS‑unavailable. How to build a playlist editor on macOS?
I’m trying to build a playlist editor on macOS. I can create playlists via the Apple Music HTTP API, but DELETE always returns 401 even immediately after creation with the same tokens. Minimal repro: #!/usr/bin/env bash set -euo pipefail BASE_URL="https://api.music.apple.com/v1" PLAYLIST_NAME="${PLAYLIST_NAME:-blah}" : "${APPLE_MUSIC_DEV_TOKEN:?}" : "${APPLE_MUSIC_USER_TOKEN:?}" create_body="$(mktemp)" delete_body="$(mktemp)" trap 'rm -f "$create_body" "$delete_body"' EXIT curl -sS --compressed -o "$create_body" -w "Create status: %{http_code}\n" \ -X POST "${BASE_URL}/me/library/playlists" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer ${APPLE_MUSIC_DEV_TOKEN}" \ -H "Music-User-Token: ${APPLE_MUSIC_USER_TOKEN}" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d "{\"attributes\":{\"name\":\"${PLAYLIST_NAME}\"}}" playlist_id="$(python3 - "$create_body" <<'PY' import json, sys with open(sys.argv[1], "r", encoding="utf-8") as f: data = json.load(f) print(data["data"][0]["id"]) PY )" curl -sS --compressed -o "$delete_body" -w "Delete status: %{http_code}\n" \ -X DELETE "${BASE_URL}/me/library/playlists/${playlist_id}" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer ${APPLE_MUSIC_DEV_TOKEN}" \ -H "Music-User-Token: ${APPLE_MUSIC_USER_TOKEN}" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" I capture the response bodies like this: cat "$create_body" cat "$delete_body" Result: Create: 201 Delete: 401 I also checked the latest macOS SDK’s MusicKit interfaces and MusicLibrary.createPlaylist/edit/add(to:) are marked @available(macOS, unavailable), so I can’t create/ delete via MusicKit on macOS either. Question: How can I implement a playlist editor on macOS (create/delete/modify) if: MusicKit write APIs are unavailable on macOS, and The HTTP API can create but DELETE returns 401? Any guidance or official workaround would be hugely appreciated.

AVAssetResourceLoaderDelegate and CoreMediaErrorDomain -12881 When Playing HLS Audio
I am developing an app that plays HLS audio. When using AVPlayerItem with AVURLAsset, can AVAssetResourceLoaderDelegate correctly handle HLS segments? My goal is to use AVAssetResourceLoaderDelegate to add authentication HTTP headers when accessing HLS .m3u8 and .ts files. I can successfully download the files, but playback fails with errors. Specifically, I am observing the following cases: A. AVAssetResourceLoaderDelegate is canceled, and CoreMediaErrorDomain -12881 occurs In NSURLConnectionDataDelegate’s didReceiveResponse method, set contentInformationRequest In didReceiveData, call dataRequest respondWithData resourceLoader didCancelLoadingRequest is called CoreMediaErrorDomain -12881 occurs B. CoreMediaErrorDomain -12881 occurs In NSURLConnectionDataDelegate’s didReceiveResponse method, set contentInformationRequest In connection didReceiveData, buffer all received data until the end In connectionDidFinishLoading, pass the buffered data to respondWithData Call loadingRequest finishLoading CoreMediaErrorDomain -12881 occurs In both cases, dataRequest.requestsAllDataToEndOfResource is YES. For this use case, I am not using AVURLAssetHTTPHeaderFieldsKey because I need to apply the most up-to-date authentication data at the moment each file is accessed. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions you might have. Thank you in advance!

Instagram video embed in WKWebView freezes on start on iOS18.5
Hi everyone! Here's what I observed so far: On device it's reproducible on iOS/iPadOS18.5, but works on iPadOS17.7. On iPhone16 iOS 18.5 simulator that I was extensively using for development it was reproducible until I reset content and settings. On iPhone 16 iOS18.4 simulator, which was also used a lot during development it still works always, so I tend to think it's 18.5 issue. Setting config.websiteDataStore = .nonPersistent() doesn't help. Cleaning WKWebsiteDataStore doesn't help. It works fine using direct URL from the embedded code (see the code below). Can someone provide some insight on how this could be fixed? Here's the code: import SwiftUI import WebKit @main struct IGVideoApp: App { var body: some Scene { WindowGroup { WebView() } } } private struct WebView: UIViewRepresentable { func makeUIView(context: Context) -> WKWebView { let config = WKWebViewConfiguration() config.allowsInlineMediaPlayback = true return .init(frame: .zero, configuration: config) } func updateUIView(_ uiView: WKWebView, context: Context) { let urlString = "https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKHFOGct3z7/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading" /// It works when loading from the data-instgrm-permalink URL directly // uiView.load(.init(url: .init(string: "\(urlString)")!)) /// It doesn't work whith embedding /// Note: the code part for embedding (<blockquote>...</blockquote>) is taken from my /// Instagram post (https://www.instagram.com/p/DKHFOGct3z7/) /// and stripped down. The urlString was also extracted for demonstration of direct loading. let string = """ <!doctype html> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1"> <html> <head /> <body style="background-color:black; margin:0px"> <blockquote class="instagram-media" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-version="14" data-instgrm-permalink="\(urlString)"> </blockquote> <script async src="https://www.instagram.com/embed.js"></script> </body> </html> """ uiView.loadHTMLString(string, baseURL: .init(string: "https://www.instagram.com")) } }

Xcode 26.3: Simulators incorrectly shown as "build only device" — Run (Cmd+R) fails while Build (Cmd+B) and command-line build/deploy succeed
Product Xcode Version 26.3 (26C5131e) Platform macOS / iOS Simulator / iOS Device Classification Bug / Incorrect UI Behaviour Reproducibility Always (persists across restarts, scheme recreation, DerivedData clearing) Date Encountered February 20, 2026 Hardware Mac mini (M2) running macOS Test Device iPhone SE (2nd generation), iOS 26.3 Summary In Xcode 26.3, attempting to run an iOS app on any simulator destination using Cmd+R fails with the error: "A build only device cannot be used to run this target. Please select an available device or choose a simulated device as the destination." This occurs despite the selected destination being a valid iOS Simulator (not a "build only" device). The same project builds successfully using Cmd+B within Xcode and builds, installs, and runs correctly via the command line using xcodebuild, xcrun simctl, and xcrun devicectl. Steps to Reproduce Open a valid iOS project in Xcode 26.3. The project in question has target name "h", product name "DiabetesHbA1cPrediction", bundle identifier "com.diabeteshba1c.DiabetesHbA1cPrediction", with IPHONEOS_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET set to 26.0. In the scheme/destination picker toolbar, select any iOS Simulator destination (e.g. iPhone 16, iPhone 17 Pro, or any other available simulator). The destination name appears correctly in the toolbar without any "build only" annotation. Press Cmd+R (Product > Run). Xcode immediately displays the error: "A build only device cannot be used to run this target." Press Cmd+B (Product > Build) instead. The build succeeds with no errors. Expected Behaviour Cmd+R should build and launch the application on the selected simulator, just as it does in previous Xcode versions. The user had been running simulators successfully for the prior week before this issue appeared. Actual Behaviour Xcode refuses to run the app, treating every simulator destination as a "build only device." The error appears instantly upon pressing Cmd+R, before any build activity begins. Cmd+B succeeds normally, confirming the project and scheme configuration are valid. Workarounds Attempted (All Failed) The following troubleshooting steps were performed, none of which resolved the Xcode UI issue: Changed IPHONEOS_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET across multiple values (26.2, 18.0, 26.0) in all build settings within project.pbxproj. Deleted and recreated the Xcode scheme (removed .xcscheme files from xcshareddata and xcuserdata, let Xcode auto-create a new scheme). Deleted the entire DerivedData folder (rm -rf ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData). Selected multiple different simulator destinations (iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro) — all produced the same error. Verified the scheme’s Executable setting (confirmed it was set to the correct .app target). Changed "Show Run Destination" setting between Automatic and Always. Quit and restarted Xcode completely. Confirmed that simulator device names in the destination dropdown appeared normally, without any "build only" suffix. Working Workaround: Command-Line Build and Deploy The project builds, installs, and runs correctly when using command-line tools, confirming the project configuration is valid: Simulator deployment: xcodebuild -scheme h -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator,name=iPhone 16' build xcrun simctl boot 7F0DF8DA-E4A3-41B2-A2E4-B1F528753189 xcrun simctl install booted xcrun simctl launch booted com.diabeteshba1c.DiabetesHbA1cPrediction Result: App launched and ran correctly in the simulator. Physical device deployment (iPhone SE 2020, iOS 26.3): xcodebuild -scheme h -destination 'id=00008030-001128DC2E51402E' build xcrun devicectl device install app --device xcrun devicectl device process launch --device com.diabeteshba1c.DiabetesHbA1cPrediction Result: BUILD SUCCEEDED, app installed and launched on the physical device without issue. Key Observations The disconnect between Xcode’s UI-based Run (Cmd+R) failing and the command-line build/deploy succeeding with identical configuration strongly suggests this is an Xcode IDE bug in the run destination resolution logic, not a project configuration issue. Cmd+B succeeds in Xcode itself, meaning the build system correctly recognises the project, scheme, and destination. The failure occurs specifically in the “run” pathway where Xcode evaluates whether the destination supports execution. The simulator dropdown shows destination names without any "build only" label, yet Xcode internally treats them as build-only when the Run action is invoked. This behaviour started occurring in Xcode 26.3. The same project and simulators worked correctly in the preceding week under the same Xcode installation. Environment Xcode version: 26.3 (26C5131e) macOS: Running on Mac mini (M2) iOS SDK: 26.3 Available simulator runtimes: iOS 18.6, iOS 26.2 Physical test device: iPhone SE (2nd generation), iOS 26.3 Project type: SwiftUI iOS app with HealthKit integration Signing: Automatic, with valid provisioning for both simulator and device

currentPlaybackPitch or preservesPitch parameter
Hi Apple Music API / MusicKit / MediaPlayer Team, Similar to the currentPlaybackRate keeps the same pitch, it would be great to have a currentPlaybackPitch parameter as well. Alternatively, adding a preservesPitch parameter would also work. I see that iOS 26 AutoMix on Apple Music currently does pitch shifting during music transitions, so maybe this is something that could be exposed on the later betas of iOS 26? Main feature request we get is to have simple pitch changes to Apple Music we play through our app. Is this being considered?

Error resuming background audio while connected to CarPlay
My app utilizes background audio to play music files. I have the audio background mode enabled and I initialize the AVAudioSession in playback mode with the mixWithOthers option. And it usually works great while the app is backgrounded. I listen for audio interruptions as well as route changes and I am able to handle them appropriately and I can usually resume my background audio no problem. I discovered an issue while connected to CarPlay though. Roughly 50% of the time when I disconnect from a phone call while connected to CarPlay I get the following error after calling the play() method of my AVAudioPlayer instance: "ATAudioSessionClientImpl.mm:281 activation failed. status = 561015905" If I instead try to start a new audio session I get a similar error: Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=561015905 "Session activation failed" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Session activation failed} Like I said, this isn't reproducible 100% of the time and is so far only seen while connected to CarPlay. I don't think Im forgetting so additional capability or plist setting, but if anyone has any clues it would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise this is likely just a bug that I need to report to Apple. One very important note, and reason I believe it's just a bug, is that while I was testing I found that other music apps like Spotify will also fail to resume their audio at the same time my app fails. Another important detail is that when it works successfully I receive the audio session interruption ended notification, and when it doesn't work I only receive a route configuration change or route override notification. From there I am able to still successfully granted background time to execute code, but my call to resume audio fails with the above mentioned error codes.

The files generated using AVAudioRecorder have a constant size of only 4kb
Hello. My app uses AVAudioRecorder to generate recording files, which are consistently only 4kb in size. Most users generate audio files normally, with only a few users experiencing this phenomenon occasionally. After uninstalling and installing the app, it will work normally, but it will reappear after a period of time. I have compared that the problematic audio files generated each time are fixed and cannot be played. Added the audioRecorderDidFinishRecording proxy method, which shows that the recording was completed normally. The user also reported that the recording is normal, but there is a problem with the generated file. How should I handle this issue? Look forward to your reply. - (void)startRecordWithOrderID:(NSString *)orderID { AVAudioSession *audioSession = [AVAudioSession sharedInstance]; [audioSession setCategory:AVAudioSessionCategoryRecord error:nil]; [audioSession setActive:YES error:nil]; NSMutableDictionary *settings = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] init]; [settings setObject:[NSNumber numberWithFloat: 8000.0] forKey:AVSampleRateKey]; [settings setObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt: kAudioFormatLinearPCM] forKey:AVFormatIDKey]; [settings setObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt:16] forKey:AVLinearPCMBitDepthKey]; [settings setObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt: 1] forKey:AVNumberOfChannelsKey]; [settings setObject:[NSNumber numberWithBool:NO] forKey:AVLinearPCMIsBigEndianKey]; [settings setObject:[NSNumber numberWithBool:NO] forKey:AVLinearPCMIsFloatKey]; NSString *path = [WDUtility createDirInDocument:@"audios" withOrderID:orderID withPathExtension:@"wav"]; NSURL *tmpFile = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:path]; recorder = [[AVAudioRecorder alloc] initWithURL:tmpFile settings:settings error:nil]; [recorder setDelegate:self]; [recorder prepareToRecord]; [recorder record]; }

Please find below an example of corresponding video and audio playlists: video: #EXTM3U #EXT-X-VERSION:7 #EXT-X-MEDIA-SEQUENCE:872524632 #EXT-X-INDEPENDENT-SEGMENTS #EXT-X-TARGETDURATION:2 #USP-X-TIMESTAMP-MAP:MPEGTS=7096045027,LOCAL=2025-05-09T12:38:32.369100Z #EXT-X-MAP:URI="hls/StreamingBasic-video=979200.m4s" #EXT-X-PROGRAM-DATE-TIME:2025-05-09T12:38:32.369111Z #EXTINF:2.002, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-video=979200-872524632.m4s #EXTINF:2.002, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-video=979200-872524633.m4s #EXTINF:2.002, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-video=979200-872524634.m4s #EXTINF:2.002, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-video=979200-872524635.m4s #EXTINF:2.002, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-video=979200-872524636.m4s ## Media sequence discontinuity #EXT-X-GAP #EXTINF:2.002, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-video=979200-872524637.m4s ## Media sequence discontinuity #EXT-X-GAP #EXTINF:2.002, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-video=979200-872524638.m4s #EXT-X-PROGRAM-DATE-TIME:2025-05-09T12:38:46.383111Z #EXTINF:2.002, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-video=979200-872524639.m4s #EXTINF:2.002, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-video=979200-872524640.m4s audio: EXTM3U #EXT-X-VERSION:7 #EXT-X-MEDIA-SEQUENCE:872524632 #EXT-X-INDEPENDENT-SEGMENTS #EXT-X-TARGETDURATION:2 #USP-X-TIMESTAMP-MAP:MPEGTS=7096045867,LOCAL=2025-05-09T12:38:32.378400Z #EXT-X-MAP:URI="hls/StreamingBasic-audio_99500_eng=98800.m4s" #EXT-X-PROGRAM-DATE-TIME:2025-05-09T12:38:32.378444Z #EXTINF:2.0053, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-audio_99500_eng=98800-872524632.m4s #EXTINF:2.0053, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-audio_99500_eng=98800-872524633.m4s #EXTINF:2.0053, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-audio_99500_eng=98800-872524634.m4s #EXTINF:1.984, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-audio_99500_eng=98800-872524635.m4s #EXTINF:2.0053, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-audio_99500_eng=98800-872524636.m4s ## Media sequence discontinuity #EXT-X-GAP #EXTINF:2.002, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-audio_99500_eng=98800-872524637.m4s ## Media sequence discontinuity #EXT-X-GAP #EXTINF:2.002, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-audio_99500_eng=98800-872524638.m4s #EXT-X-DISCONTINUITY #EXT-X-PROGRAM-DATE-TIME:2025-05-09T12:38:46.778444Z #EXTINF:1.6213, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-audio_99500_eng=98800-872524639.m4s #EXTINF:2.0053, no desc hls/StreamingBasic-audio_99500_eng=98800-872524640.m4s In this case playback is broken with avplayer. Massive amounts of leaked memory with the tvOS 26 system player user interface
Hi, We identified massive amounts of leaked memory with the tvOS 26 standard player user interface as soon as chapters (navigation markers) are involved. Artwork images associated with chapters are not correctly released anymore, leaking memory in chunks of several MiBs. Over time apps will be terminated by the system due to excessive memory consumption. The issue was reported to Apple as tvOS 26 regression: Huge memory leaks associated with navigation marker artworks displayed in the tvOS standard user interface, filed under FB21160665.

I wrote a Swift macOS app to control a PCI audio device. The code switches between the default output and input channels. As soon as I launch the Audio-Midi Setup utility, channel switching stops working. The driver properties allow switching, but the system doesn't respond. I have to delete the contents of /Library/Preferences/Audio and reset Core Audio. What am I missing? func setDefaultChannelsOutput() { guard let deviceID = getDeviceIDByName(deviceName: "PCI-424") else { return } let selectedIndex = DefaultChannelsOutput.indexOfSelectedItem if selectedIndex < 0 || selectedIndex >= 24 { return } let channel1 = UInt32(selectedIndex * 2 + 1) let channel2 = UInt32(selectedIndex * 2 + 2) var channels: [UInt32] = [channel1, channel2] var propertyAddress = AudioObjectPropertyAddress( mSelector: kAudioDevicePropertyPreferredChannelsForStereo, mScope: kAudioDevicePropertyScopeOutput, mElement: kAudioObjectPropertyElementWildcard ) let dataSize = UInt32(MemoryLayout<UInt32>.size * channels.count) let status = AudioObjectSetPropertyData(deviceID, &propertyAddress, 0, nil, dataSize, &channels) if status != noErr { print("Error setting default output channels: \(status)") } }

Hi everyone! Here's what I observed so far: On device it's reproducible on iOS/iPadOS18.5, but works on iPadOS17.7. On iPhone16 iOS 18.5 simulator that I was extensively using for development it was reproducible until I reset content and settings. On iPhone 16 iOS18.4 simulator, which was also used a lot during development it still works always, so I tend to think it's 18.5 issue. Setting config.websiteDataStore = .nonPersistent() doesn't help. Cleaning WKWebsiteDataStore doesn't help. It works fine using direct URL from the embedded code (see the code below). Can someone provide some insight on how this could be fixed? Here's the code: import SwiftUI import WebKit @main struct IGVideoApp: App { var body: some Scene { WindowGroup { WebView() } } } private struct WebView: UIViewRepresentable { func makeUIView(context: Context) -> WKWebView { let config = WKWebViewConfiguration() config.allowsInlineMediaPlayback = true return .init(frame: .zero, configuration: config) } func updateUIView(_ uiView: WKWebView, context: Context) { let urlString = "https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKHFOGct3z7/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading" /// It works when loading from the data-instgrm-permalink URL directly // uiView.load(.init(url: .init(string: "\(urlString)")!)) /// It doesn't work whith embedding /// Note: the code part for embedding (<blockquote>...</blockquote>) is taken from my /// Instagram post (https://www.instagram.com/p/DKHFOGct3z7/) /// and stripped down. The urlString was also extracted for demonstration of direct loading. let string = """ <!doctype html> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1"> <html> <head /> <body style="background-color:black; margin:0px"> <blockquote class="instagram-media" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-version="14" data-instgrm-permalink="\(urlString)"> </blockquote> <script async src="https://www.instagram.com/embed.js"></script> </body> </html> """ uiView.loadHTMLString(string, baseURL: .init(string: "https://www.instagram.com")) } }

Use of MusicKit in mobile app to manipulate audio with EQ
Hello, I want to know if there are any restrictions with MusicKit to be used in a mobile app to be able to manipulate audio with an EQ on tracks coming from Apple Music, without modifying the actual track structure/data of course, just the audio output.

currentPlaybackPitch or preservesPitch parameter

Why is MusicKit ApplicationMusicPlayer not available on watchOS?
ApplicationMusicPlayer is not available on watchOS but all other platforms. Is there a technical reason for that like battery life? Same goes for SystemMusicPlayer and MPMusicPlayerController. I already filed feedbacks for that.
