launchd_sim and AppleSpell deadlock
I've got a 2019 Intel iMac running Sequoia 15.4.1 and Xcode 16.3. Every time I try to view a storyboard Xcode locks up and beachballs on me. It takes minutes to load the file. When I force-quit Xcode, the report that shows up has this as the reason: Processes reached dispatch thread soft limit (64): launchd_sim [96305] [unique pid 194673], launchd_sim [96260] [unique pid 194628] Deadlock: AppleSpell [1494] thread 0x1df0c4 DispatchQueue 313 -> AppleSpell [1494] thread 0x1df0c4 DispatchQueue 313 Deadlock: AppleSpell [1494] thread 0x1df114 DispatchQueue 86 -> AppleSpell [1494] thread 0x1df114 DispatchQueue 86 Blocked by Deadlock: 1 task - AppleSpell [1494] I'm wondering, why is AppleSpell trying to spell-check a plist file? Is there any way to tell AppleSpell to ignore a file?

Why does dependency analysis work for a script that outputs a folder that is copied in copy bundle resources but not once that script is moved to an aggregate target?
This question is a component of this question and an extension to this question which has been solved. This situation might feel a pinch constructed but it is a simplified version of one step of the original question. Basically in my app I have a script that outputs a folder with a few files inside of it. This folder is output to $(BUILT_PRODUCTS_DIR)/build/ and is referenced via a PBXBuildFile. Because I put a wait in the script (to simulate a long build I have in my real project) it is very obvious when the script is or isn't run. The goal would be for it to run only when its dependencies have changed. The trick is if I put this script as a "run script" phase within my final target dependency analysis works great. The script only runs when the dependencies are updated. However if I put the "run script" phase into an aggregate target then add it as a Target Dependency in the main target Xcode wants to run the script every time. Regardless of if the dependencies have changed. However if you build just the aggregate target alone everything goes just fine. It only builds when it has to. To me this does not quite make sense. I thought that dependency analysis of the script within my aggregate target would be the same regardless of whether that script was within the aggregate target or the main target. In my app I ideally need the aggregate target to be shared by multiple other targets. While I could put the script in each it would be more foolproof to have them share an aggregate target. Why would dependency analysis come to a different conclusion when the script is within an aggregate target that is a target dependency of the main target? If it helps here is the script and the entire project can be found here on GitHub if you would like to play with it. mkdir -p "${SCRIPT_OUTPUT_FILE_0}/build/" echo "Pausing for 10 seconds before creating files..." sleep 10 cat "${SCRIPT_INPUT_FILE_0}" cat > "${SCRIPT_OUTPUT_FILE_0}/build/index.html" << EOF <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>Simple Page</title> </head> <body> <h1>Welcome to Simple Page</h1> <p>Generated at: $(date)</p> </body> </html> EOF cat > "${SCRIPT_OUTPUT_FILE_0}/build/page.html" << 'EOF' <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>Simple Page</title> </head> <body> </body> </html> EOF

How to Prevent Xcode from Automatically Generating Unnecessary "inputPaths" and "outputPaths" in project.pbxproj?
I’ve noticed that Xcode keeps automatically adding unnecessary inputPaths and outputPaths entries to my project.pbxproj file. These outputPaths don’t seem to serve any real purpose in my project and clutter the project file, sometimes causing unnecessary merge conflicts in version control. I’ve already checked I didn't change my project.pbxproj file, but Xcode still occasionally generates these outputPaths. I’m not using any custom build tools or plugins that should be modifying this. One thing I’ve observed is that this issue only occurs when Xcode is open. If I close Xcode, the problem does not happen. This makes me think it might be related to how Xcode manages or updates the project file in the background. My questions: Is there a way to completely disable Xcode from generating these outputPaths automatically? Are there any hidden settings, project configurations, or best practices to prevent this behavior? Has anyone else experienced this issue, and how did you resolve it? Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Followed docs for "Local Package", how to add to 2nd project?
I have a couple apps in one git repository. I'd like to have a Swift package in that repo as well, shared by apps. In other words, I don't want a separate repo for the Swift package. I followed the instructions here: https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/xcode/organizing-your-code-with-local-packages It seems to work. I can write code like this in my app: import MyLocalPackage func foo() { myLocalPackageFunc() } I notice that the package is not listed under Project > MyApp > Package Dependencies. I don't really care, as long as I can reuse code between apps. But when I try to add this package code to a 2nd app, I'm at a loss. I tried "Add Package Dependencies" and "Add Local", but that creates a different looking setup than the 1st app. The code is browsable in the project navigator. And when I try to build it says "Missing package product 'MyLocalPackage'. The documentation linked above, which I used for the 1st app, does a "New > Package". I don't want a new package. How can I connect the existing one?

Xcode organizer not properly showing termination charts
Two month back we published 28.11.0 version a app. for both foreground and background terminations are not properly showing by Xcode matrix Foreground Termination: I was able to see the termination bar chart for one release, but after that, the chart stopped showing real-time crash progress. However, crashes are still being reported directly by users. Why is Xcode Organizer unable to capture these events? Please help us track them effectively. Background Termination: The termination bar chart has not appeared in Xcode Organizer for the last two releases, which span nearly two months. As a result, we are unable to monitor app terminations for background scenarios.

Custom font not support in Xcode 16.3
I'm experiencing an issue with a custom font not loading properly in Xcode 16.3. The font files are included in the bundle, listed in Info.plist, and verified for correct names using UIFont.familyNames, but they still don't appear at runtime. Has anyone else run into this with Xcode 16.3? Could this be related to recent changes in asset packaging or font catalogs?

Scope of GPT Training in Xcode 26
Hello, I watched WWDC 25 and saw that GPT will be integrated into Xcode. This raised a question for me. As far as I know, GPT models learn from user interactions. However, the GPT terms of use mention that business accounts are excluded from training. Does this also apply to the GPT integrated into Xcode 26? I couldn’t find any information about this in the Xcode 26 beta release notes or the Apple Developer Program License Agreement. If anyone knows where this is documented, I’d really appreciate it if you could share it. Also, if any Apple staff is reading this, I’d be grateful if you could clarify whether the same non-training policy applies within Xcode. Thank you!

Network Instability in TestFlight Builds When Using Xcode 16+
We are experiencing networking issues in our iOS application when it is built with Xcode 16 or later. Our app includes a video conferencing feature that works reliably when built with Xcode 15 or earlier — we can sustain hour-long video sessions without interruption. However, when the app is built using Xcode 16 or higher, network connections drop after 2–3 minutes during a session. This triggers an auto-reconnect, which succeeds, but the connection drops again after another 2–3 minutes. This loop continues indefinitely. Key Details: The issue only occurs in TestFlight builds. When running the app via Xcode debugger, the issue does not occur. The issue is consistently reproducible in TestFlight builds created with Xcode 16 or later. TestFlight builds created with Xcode 15 do not exhibit this issue. All the videoconferencing runs on C and C++ code What We’ve Tried: Reviewed Xcode 16+ release notes but found no relevant changes or deprecations. Verified app configuration and entitlements. Confirmed that no app-side changes occurred between the working and broken builds. Request: We’re seeking guidance on what changes in Xcode 16+ could be affecting networking behavior in release/TestFlight builds. Any insight into relevant build settings, compiler changes, or runtime behavior differences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Dynamic Library and Unit Testing - Module not found
Hi! I must be missing something. I am creating a MacOS dynamic library using Xcode. I have created the library as follows: File->New Project then choose macOS 'Library' in Frameworks and Libraries. I give the Product Name "TestLib". Framework: STL (C++ Library) Type: Dynamic This creates a default library project, with one exported class 'TestLib'. There's a method "HelloWorld". And this suffices for my issue. To be able to test my dynamic library, I want to use an XCtest target. So in the project settings, I select '+', and add a 'Unit Testing Bundle': Product name: TestLibTests Language: Swift Testing System: XCTest Project: TestLib Target to be tested: TestLib I press finish, and my test target is created. Now, I think I need to have a module map. So I Add New File From Template', and choose 'Module Map'. A 'module.modulemap' is created. In the module map file, I name the module 'TestLib', and header 'TestLib.h'. So far, everything makes sense, and no errors. But here it comes... When I want to make a testcase, I need to import the module. I first built the dylib library, to make sure it's built without errors and exists. Then I switch to the TestLibTests target and want to write my first test. Simply creating an object from the TestLib class. For that, I have to import the module, so I write 'import TestLib' after the 'import XCTest' at the top. And here is where I'm stuck. No matter what I do, Xcode just gives me the error 'No such module TestLib'. This should just work, right? I should be able to unit test my library. I have spent 2 days reading the internet and trying many suggestions, but I just can't get it to work. I am currently working with Xcode 26 beta. But I tried with Xcode 16.4 and that has the same issue. What am I missing?

Ethernet TSO Issues After Sequoia Update
I have a service that has been running on a 3x cluster of headless M1 Mac Studios since Ventura, and before that on headless Mac minis since Monterey. Now, after updating the Studios from Sonoma to Sequoia, response times have slowed to a crawl. For example, generating and sending a 150KB PDF file normally takes around 20 milliseconds. Now it takes over 15 SECONDS! The daemon code didn't change between updates. The issue seems to center around TSO on the ethernet port. Connecting via a port without TSO works as expected. But the 10 GB ethernet port on the Studio has built-in TSO. I've tried to disable TSO using sudo sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.tso=0. This works for an hour or so before the daemon eventually becomes unresponsive. At this point the daemon has to be terminated and restarted. So for now I'm having to use cheap USB-C to Ethernet adapters to connect the Mac Studios. Is there a configuration setting I'm missing for proper TSO in Network Framework?

Script to modify CFBundleVersion
I am using a script originally developed by Tommy in 2014. It updates the info.plist value for CFBundleVersion. Latest version of Xcode 16.4 modifies the behavior of the script. If I clean the build folder, the value is set by the script that runs after Copy Bundle Resources and modifies the info.plist file in the Debug version of the app. Subsequent runs using the same build seem to execute the script but the info.plist value reverts to the value set in the source directory. The script calculates a value based on the number of revisions to the current branch.

Build number management with Catalyst app
I have an iOS app that also has a Mac Catalyst version that I distribute on the Mac App Store. I upload builds to App Store Connect and use the "Manage version and build number" setting introduced in the past couple of years. This always works without a problem for the iOS version of the app. However, on the Mac, I often get a validation error like this: This bundle is invalid. The value for key CBundleVersion [2958] in the Info.plist file must contain a higher version than that of the previously uploaded version [2959]. Please find more information about CFBundleVersion at https://aninterestingwebsite.com/documentation/bundleresources/information_property_list/cfbundleversion (ID: 44cc3c93-a563-45bd-8e10-884444207eae) This is all without making any changes to the code or info plist. The exact same code will build, archive, and upload with no problems whatsoever. I often end up having to manually update the bundle version in order to get an upload to succeed. Once I do, both the iOS and Mac versions will upload and validate successfully, but the problem inevitably returns in future releases. All in all, it seems to defeat the purpose of the Xcode automatic build management feature. Am I missing a step somewhere? Why would this happen with the Mac build but not iOS?

Why can't I see the version I built on TestFlight
After developing the IOS app using XCode, I https://aninterestingwebsite.com/account/resources/identifiers/list Created Identifiers (HanBaoAI) and locally created Certificate SigningRequest.certSigningRequest https://aninterestingwebsite.com/account/resources/certificates/list Created Certificates (Expiry Date 2026/04/21) and also created profiles (HanBaoAI, Expires 2026/04/21), and then https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/apps I created an app (HanBaoAI) and uploaded it to the official website using Product Archive in xcode. The upload was successful, but the official website's testflight showed 1 (processing). When I refreshed the page, there was no information in testflight. May I ask what the reason is? How to solve it? Please provide complete and detailed solution steps.

Failure to build on some iOS simulators when app includes a call to WKWebView.find method
I have experienced problems with my app crashing on build (I believe it's while linking) with various combinations of Xcode version and iOS simulator version. It dates back to Xcode 16.3 in my testing, and continues through Xcode 16.4 and all Xcode 26 betas. This occurs whether the project running is UIKit-based or SwiftUI-based. Simply dropping a file with the following code into a project, without even needing to refer to its class anywhere else in the project, produces the crash. import Foundation import WebKit class WebBrowserController: NSObject, ObservableObject, WKNavigationDelegate { var webView: WKWebView override init() { self.webView = WKWebView() super.init() } func findString(_ string: String, completion: @escaping (WKFindResult) -> Void) { let configuration = WKFindConfiguration() webView.find(string, configuration: configuration) { result in completion(result) } } } With Xcode 26 beta 4 I am experiencing this issue with iOS 18.4 and iOS 18.5 simulators, but not with iOSW 18.3 or iOS 26 simulators. The complete history of my testing back to Xcode 16.3 and the problematic iOS versions is included Feedback #FB17737471. Simulator navigation does not match real device.
My app uses the top navigation panel which contains the back button, a title, and prompt. On an actual device, the navigation area is light and shows all three items. On the simulator, the navigation area is black and only the back button is shown. I need this to be correct for app store screen shots.

Duplicate Builds in TestFlight After a Single Upload
I used Xcode to upload to App Store Connect, and I only clicked "Distribute App" once, but the build was uploaded to TestFlight twice, resulting in build numbers 356 and 357 ( I need 356 ). But this doesn’t happen every time. Why would this happen?

The crash message appearing in the Xcode 26 beta 4 console for iOS 18.5 is below: dyld[7438]: Library not loaded: /usr/lib/swift/libswiftWebKit.dylib Referenced from: <EF9CE2A7-9F7C-316D-869F-087AECC76C53> /Users/dennisbirch/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Devices/CD82152C-E407-4350-B8AE-C15B5304CA05/data/Containers/Bundle/Application/94F80728-CECE-4C24-84CF-C435069B276A/SwiftUIMissingWebViewLib.app/SwiftUIMissingWebViewLib.debug.dylib Reason: tried: '/Users/dennisbirch/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/SwiftUIMissingWebViewLib-dbhkxwiichsdtygsnxqszkylbivv/Build/Products/Debug-iphonesimulator/libswiftWebKit.dylib' (no such file), '/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes/iOS_22F77/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 18.5.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot/usr/lib/system/introspection/libswiftWebKit.dylib' (no such file), '/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes/iOS_22F77/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 18.5.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot/usr/lib/swift/libswiftWebKit.dylib' (no such file), '/usr/lib/swift/libswiftWebKit.dylib' (no such file, not in dyld cache), '/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes/iOS_22F77/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 18.5.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot/usr/lib/libswiftWebKit.dylib' (no such file) Library not loaded: /usr/lib/swift/libswiftWebKit.dylib Referenced from: <EF9CE2A7-9F7C-316D-869F-087AECC76C53> /Users/dennisbirch/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Devices/CD82152C-E407-4350-B8AE-C15B5304CA05/data/Containers/Bundle/Application/94F80728-CECE-4C24-84CF-C435069B276A/SwiftUIMissingWebViewLib.app/SwiftUIMissingWebViewLib.debug.dylib Reason: tried: '/Users/dennisbirch/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/SwiftUIMissingWebViewLib-dbhkxwiichsdtygsnxqszkylbivv/Build/Products/Debug-iphonesimulator/libswiftWebKit.dylib' (no such file), '/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes/iOS_22F77/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 18.5.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot/usr/lib/system/introspection/libswiftWebKit.dylib' (no such file), '/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes/iOS_22F77/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 18.5.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot/usr/lib/swift/libswiftWebKit.dylib' (no such file), '/usr/lib/swift/libswiftWebKit.dylib' (no such f dyld config: DYLD_SHARED_CACHE_DIR=/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Caches/dyld/25A5316i/com.apple.CoreSimulator.SimRuntime.iOS-18-5.22F77/ DYLD_ROOT_PATH=/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes/iOS_22F77/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 18.5.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=/Users/dennisbirch/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/SwiftUIMissingWebViewLib-dbhkxwiichsdtygsnxqszkylbivv/Build/Products/Debug-iphonesimulator:/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes/iOS_22F77/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 18.5.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot/usr/lib/system/introspection DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES=/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes/iOS_22F77/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 18.5.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot/usr/lib/libLogRedirect.dylib:/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes/iOS_22F77/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 18.5.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot/usr/lib/libBacktraceRecording.dylib:/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes/iOS_22F77/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 18.5.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot/usr/lib/libMainThreadChecker.dylib:/usr/lib/libRPAC.dylib:/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes/iOS_22F77/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 18.5.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot/usr/lib/libViewDebuggerSupport.dylib DYLD_FRAMEWORK_PATH=/Users/dennisbirch/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/SwiftUIMissingWebViewLib-dbhkxwiichsdtygsnxqszkylbivv/Build/Products/Debug-iphonesimulator DYLD_FALLBACK_FRAMEWORK_PATH=/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes/iOS_22F77/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 18.5.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot/System/Library/Frameworks DYLD_FALLBACK_LIBRARY_PATH=/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes/iOS_22F77/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 18.5.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot/usr/lib
