How to enable Rosetta simulators on Xcode 26 Beta 3 under MacOS 26 Beta 3?
Using Xcode 26 Beta 3 on MacOS 26 Beta 3, I cannot see any Rosetta Simulators even though I've turned on: Xcode Product -> Destination -> Show All Run Destinations I suspected that there has been an issue with showing them on Xcode, then I used Terminal to verify: First I tried to run/build unit tests with an ARM64 simulator, of course, I got a failed result - Because my project hasn't fully supported ARM64 yet. xcodebuild test \ -scheme MyScheme \ -project MyProject.xcodeproj \ -destination "platform=iOS Simulator,name=iPhone 16,arch=arm64" Output: Undefined symbol: _OBJC_CLASS_$_MTAmiVoice Then I tried with a Rosetta simulator: xcodebuild test \ -scheme MyScheme \ -project MyProject.xcodeproj \ -destination "platform=iOS Simulator,name=iPhone 16,arch=x86_64" Output: xcodebuild: error: Unable to find a destination matching the provided destination specifier: { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:x86_64, OS:latest, name:iPhone 16 } Available destinations for the "MyScheme" scheme: { platform:macOS, arch:arm64, variant:Designed for [iPad,iPhone], id:14975ac530130e6513017194c34d61ec91d18706, name:My Mac } { platform:iOS, id:dvtdevice-DVTiPhonePlaceholder-iphoneos:placeholder, name:Any iOS Device } { platform:iOS Simulator, id:dvtdevice-DVTiOSDeviceSimulatorPlaceholder-iphonesimulator:placeholder, name:Any iOS Simulator Device } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:ADD3BC9A-B3C5-4A60-9BC0-AE5C0CC5AB74, OS:26.0, name:iPad (A16) } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:2CA6EE27-BDC0-4A01-9ADF-418F3C967EED, OS:26.0, name:iPad Air 11-inch (M3) } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:73F383A0-FBA9-4EE8-95F1-C337B936A5F2, OS:26.0, name:iPad Air 13-inch (M3) } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:3A0EE8B8-6F69-455D-B69A-8F2A834608D3, OS:26.0, name:iPad Pro 11-inch (M4) } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:61358EB9-A87E-45F9-80EB-CA17D2289C54, OS:26.0, name:iPad Pro 13-inch (M4) } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:D040351C-6177-42BC-B0E2-9E0C995EA515, OS:26.0, name:iPad mini (A17 Pro) } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:7D58AA15-86D0-4E8A-8C1C-A6CD33B70BB4, OS:26.0, name:iPhone 16 } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:4CE14A8D-3E2C-4ACA-B12C-41F4642553D2, OS:26.0, name:iPhone 16 Plus } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:C5B76D64-DC54-4BB9-8EFC-CF44D8346379, OS:26.0, name:iPhone 16 Pro } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:5973F4D1-5C4F-4386-B0BA-A36C1A542138, OS:26.0, name:iPhone 16 Pro Max } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:A6030BF7-0D50-4A48-A883-FDC276C6FCFF, OS:26.0, name:iPhone 16e } As far as I can understand, there is no Rosetta Simulator installed yet. My question is: Are there any additional steps that I need to do to trigger Rosetta Simulators on this workstation? With my other workstation, I have Mac Sequoia 15.5, Xcode 16 and Xcode 26 Beta 3, everything works perfectly for me: I can see Rosetta Simulator with Xcode 26 Beta and run my app with on Rosetta simulators. cannot update system time on AppleWatch using simctl
I am attempting to generate screenshots at various logical times using a watchOS 11 simulator. % xcrun simctl status_bar "Apple Watch Series 10 (46mm)" override --time 9:06 An error was encountered processing the command (domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain, code=45): Simulator device failed to complete the requested operation. Operation not supported Underlying error (domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain, code=45): Status bar overrides not supported on this platform. Operation not supported Using WatchOS Clock Settings gives me at most 59 minutes in which to succeed. Even if I had a physical watch for every series and size, I would have to wait up to 23 hours before being able to generate my marketing screenshots to support various user scenarios. With three settings variations, a minimal wait time to get to good marketable content would be on the order of 1 month per app version.

Xcode keeps touching readonly xcschemes on launch
We use Perforce for version control, which means that all files not checked out are readonly. Lately Xcode has started displaying a fixed sequence of these dialogs on every launch: This means it is trying to modify some readonly file within the xcodeproj. Out of our 60 subprojects this always comes up for the exact same 6. I have so far uncovered the following: It is really trying to modify the shared xcschemes and not the pbxproj. (If I set those to writable the dialog does not appear.) Actually the files are not changed if I click "Unlock", but the com.apple.provenance xattr flag is removed from them. These xcschemes are of version 1.7 while all others are 1.3. If I change them to 1.3 Xcode still wants to modify them at launch and sets them back to 1.7. This is very annoying. What is it about these xcschemes that upsets Xcode, and how can I stop these dialogs from appearing? (One workaround is to keep them checked out dumped to a changelist that I never submit, but that is error prone when I do need to make changes to those, and also is not really possible when jumping between old states of the repo to find the change that broke something.)

Unity (IL2CPP) iOS Build: "_placeGeoAnchor" Undefined Symbol for Architecture arm64
Hi all, I’m running into a persistent linker error when building my Unity 6 project (IL2CPP, iOS target) that calls a Swift method via an Objective-C++ wrapper. Despite following all known steps, I keep getting: Undefined symbols for architecture arm64: "_placeGeoAnchor", referenced from: _GeoAnchorTrigger_placeGeoAnchor in libGameAssembly.a ... ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture arm64 I’m trying to place a persistent AR anchor at real-world GPS coordinates (so that the same asset can appear at the same location for a returning user). Since I’m targeting iOS, I can’t use Google’s geospatial anchors (but I sooo wish I could--please apple I beg of you stop being so selfish lol). I've already done these things: Swift file is added to Unity-iPhone target. .mm and .h files are in Unity-iPhone target under Compile Sources. Bridging header is set to Unity-iPhone-Bridging-Header.h. Generated header name is correct (GeoTest-Swift.h). Build Active Architecture Only set to No. Function has attribute((visibility("default"))). Unity project uses IL2CPP scripting backend. Yet I'm still getting the same linker error — it appears Unity (via IL2CPP) references the function, but Xcode doesn't link it. It’s something small that’s being missed with how IL2CPP links native symbols? Or maybe I need to explicitly include something in Link Binary With Libraries? I’ve verified symbol visibility and targets repeatedly. I’ve built AR features in Unity before (for Quest), but this is my first time trying to bridge C# → Objective-C++ → Swift in this way for a geolocation-based AR anchor for an iphone. I'm going crazy, I’ve been stuck on this for 12+ hours now, so any insight or nudge would be deeply appreciated. SPECS: Macbook Pro M4 Pro--Sequoia 15.4 Unity 6000.0.45f1 IPhone 11 iOS 18.4 Xcode 15

Only see "Personal team" although I've been added to my company team
Hello, I've been added as an "App Manager" to a team of my company to which the app I'm developing belongs. I've received the invite e-mail, done all required step. On the websites (Apple Developer and App Store Connect), everything to be fine: I properly appear as a member of the team, I see the application, I can edit it. However, when I log in in Xcode with that account, I only see the "Personal team". Therefore, I got the error "Failed Registering Bundle Identifier" (which makes sense since the app belongs to the team of my company, not to my Personal team). Since the Apple ID I used is my personal Apple ID (which happens to be my personal email address), and I already done some stuff with it, I feared that there was a problem with this particular Apple ID. Therefore, we tried to add me to the team with my professional email address. This time, we added this address as a Developer in the Team. But still the same problem: When I tried to log in in Xcode with that 2nd address, I still only see the Personal team. Note that professional email address has never been used on any Apple product before. I also tried to log out / log in multiple times, restarting XCode, and still the same problem. What are we missing? How can I be able to select the right team in Xcode?

Xcode 26 only opens code files, not Storyboard, Plist, Assets, or others
Has anyone else discovered that Xcode 26 will not open any files that aren’t code? None of my project’s Storyboard, Launch Screen, Assets, built targets, Info plist will open when I click them in the Project Navigator… I just get a blank white screen in the main pane. They still exist, however: I can build my project just fine, using the pre-existing configurations and Storyboard.

I’ve discovered a workaround, such as it is: I can open my project back in Xcode 16 to edit my Storyboard, and then open it once again in Xcode 26 to build the project. This works, but as you can imagine, it’s a PITA. I’m also not able to access any Xcode 26 improvements to the Interface Builder, if there are any.

Has anyone else experienced this? Or even fixed it? I can report it as a bug but I'm surprised that I haven't even found anyone else encountering this yet.

The UT coverage does not include branch coverage for swift
We using below command to run unit test and collect coverage: xcodebuild -workspace Demo.xcworkspace -scheme VideoTests -configuration Debug -derivedDataPath ../build/derivedData -destination 'platform=iOS Simulator,id=E6630007-570B-4DEB-A023-2BCE91116A8D' -resultBundlePath './fastlane/test_output/VideoTests.xcresult' -enableCodeCoverage YES -testPlan 'Video' test-without-building | tee '/Users/rcadmin/Library/Logs/scan/VideoTests.log' | xcbeautify -q --is-ci and using xcrun llvm-cov show command to generate coverage report: xcrun llvm-cov show /build/unit-test/coverage/libraries/merged/video.o -instr-profile=/app/ios/build/derivedData/Build//ProfileData/E6630007-570B-4DEB-A023-2BCE91116A8D/video.profdata -show-branches count -show-expansions -show-line-counts -use-color -format=html -output-dir coverage and the html report does not include branch coverage: how to generate the branch coverage?

How can one suppress SF Symbol deprecation warnings?
Xcode 16 insists on showing deprecations of this type: Some.xib SF Symbol 'doc.on.doc' is deprecated, use 'document.on.document' instead. The problem is that the XIBs in question are set with a Deployment Target of macOS 12, where "document.on.document" actually isn't available and produces a missing image. So the warnings are wrong, as they ignore the deployment target set on the XIB. I filed a bug against this long ago and it was ignored. Having given up... does anyone know how to disable this particular warning?

App Icon Not Showing iSimulator or TestFlight (Assets.xcassets Fully Configured)
Hi everyone, I’ve been troubleshooting this for days — my app icon doesn’t show in the Simulator or TestFlight builds, despite what seems like a perfect setup. ✔️ What I’ve Already Verified: AppIcon.appiconset includes all required PNGs (20x20 up to 1024x1024) Contents.json is valid and complete (see attached) Asset catalog folder is named AppIcon Set correctly in Project > General > App Icon Source = "AppIcon" Cleaned build folder, restarted Xcode, and tried on multiple simulators Even used a fresh Xcode demo project — same result 🧪 Setup Details: Xcode version: [replace with your version, e.g. 15.3] iOS Deployment Target: [e.g. iOS 16.0] App Type: SwiftUI 🔍 Screenshots Attached: Assets.xcassets structure Project > General tab (App Icon section) Info.plist Contents.json Blank icon on simulator home screen ❓ Questions: Could this be a metadata or cache corruption? Is there a known issue with icons not rendering in recent Xcode builds? Any workaround to force refresh the icon system? Any help is deeply appreciated — thank you in advance!

How can you communicate that a .xcframework is a dependency OF the swift package inside Swift package definition?
I am sort of trying to do the opposite of what others are doing. I have a target called CopyFramework that creates a CopyFramework.framework within my main xcproj file. I set up this target because a specific framework (we can call it Tools.xcframework) is distributed as a binary. That framework file lives within the code. Tools.xcframework is structured like so Tools.xcframework (Coding/testBuild/DynamicToolFrameworks/Tools.xcframework) info.plist ios-arm64/ Tools.xcframework/ Tools (executable file) Tools.bundle Headers/ Info.plist Modules/ Tools.swiftmodule/ arm64-apple-ios.abi.json arm64-apple-ios.private.swiftinterface arm64-apple-ios.swiftdoc arm64-apple-ios.swiftinterface module.modulemap module.private.modulemap PrivateHeaders/ ios-arm64_x86_64-simulator/ When the CopyFramework target is run xcode does a few steps which copy the correct version of this framework to derived data. Process Tools.xcframework (iOS) Coding/testBuild/DynamicToolFrameworks/Tools.xcframework /Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/testBuild-sha/Build/Products/Debug-iphoneos/Tools.framework ios cd /Users/calebkierum/Coding/testBuild builtin-process-xcframework --xcframework Coding/testBuild/DynamicToolFrameworks/Tools.xcframework --platform ios --target-path Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/testBuild-sha/Build/Products/Debug-iphoneos Meaning essentially that the Tools.xcframework for the proper platform is taken from Tools.xcframework/ios-arm64 and copied to Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/testBuild-sha/Build/Products/Debug-iphoneos/Tools.xcframework I am writing a Swift Package that needs to be able to reference the correct Tools.xcframework. I have set it up like so: let package = Package( name: "CoreObjC", platforms: [.iOS(.v17), .macCatalyst(.v17)], products: [ .library(name: "CoreObjC", targets: ["CoreObjC"]), ], dependencies: [ // Does something to here ??? //.package(path: "../testBuild") ], targets: [ .target( name: "CoreObjC", dependencies: [ // Here I would like to be referencing the CopyFramework.framework target within my buildTest.xcproj file .product(name: "CopyFramework", package: /*??? its not in a swift package its a part of an xcproj file*/) ], path: "CoreObjC", publicHeadersPath: "Headers", linkerSettings: [ .linkedFramework("Tools", .when(platforms: [.iOS])), .linkedLibrary("c++") ] ), ], cxxLanguageStandard: CXXLanguageStandard.gnucxx14 ) Now obviously this does not work. I do not know how to communicate to the Package.swift file that the binary dependency is a framework target within my xcproj file. If I do run the target CopyFramework followed by building CoreObjC it works though (so long as you comment out the bits trying to reference CopyFramework). Running the CopyFramework target processes the Tools.xcframework and copies the proper xcframework sub folder to Derived data and the Swift Package build system seems to be able to see it. Is there a way I can get rid of this manual step? Make it so that when I build the CoreObjC target (swift package) that either CopyFramework is run or some other process is run to get the proper xcframework out of Coding/testBuild/DynamicToolFrameworks/Tools.xcframework and into DerivedData? Is it even theoretically possible to have a Swift Package reference a target in a normal xcproj file?

iOS beta 26 simulators will not in "Apple could not verify"
Apple could not verify “iPad_Air_M2_26.0_23A5260n_Restore.ipsw” is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy. xCode 26 fails to download simulators. I downloaded from the apple developer site. When I double click I get the above message. I went to the System Settings > GateKeeper, and selected Open Anyway. This poped up a window with a button, Open in xCode-bata. Clicking the button does not appear to do anything. I can not use xcode without simulators.

App crashing on real iPhone only (working fine on simulator and Xcode preview)
Hi, I'm currently facing an issue where my React Native app crashes only on a real iPhone. On the simulator and in Xcode preview, the app runs fine. Previously, I had an issue with FlatList regarding props.getItem, which I solved by installing some missing Babel dependencies. After that, everything worked correctly in the simulator. But when I try to open the app on a real device, it shows the splash screen and crashes immediately. I've already done a full clean and reset, including: npx react-native start --reset-cache Deleted node_modules and Pods, reinstalled everything Cleaned build folder via Xcode Deleted DerivedData Restarted Metro bundler and simulator/device The issue only happens on the physical device. "package" documents on iCloud Drive don't work in Simulator
Running macOS 15.4.1, Simulator 16.0 (1042.1), various iOS devices (iPhone 16, iPad 13" M4) I log into iCloud and enable iCloud Drive. Running the Files app, I noticed that I can click on "flat" documents (PDF, JPEG, etc) and they work. However, when I click on "package" documents (e.g. represented by a directory behind the scenes), I get a normal download progress, but then an alert "The operation could not be completed. No such file or directory". This seems to happen with all package documents, e.g. Keynote documents or Reality Composer objcap documents. It does not happen on actual devices logged into the same account. I've tried completely deleting and rebuilding the simulator instances in question, with no success.

Xcode Test Pane for TDD and Unit Tests?
At the last place I worked it took roughly 5 minutes to do an application build. Which in turn made doing any sort of TDD or ever just regular Unit Tests extremely painful to do as the cycle time was simply too long. But that got me thinking. In recent versions of Xcode, Apple added Previews for SwiftUI Views that basically showed code changes to the View in real time. And Previews were made possible by extremely targeted compilation of the view in question. So... what if instead of a Preview pane in the Xcode IDE there was a Test pane the could be displayed such that Tests for a piece of code could be created and run almost immediately? Perhaps by adding a #Testing section to your code #Testing(MyService.self) // Define the entity to be tested. If you could drop the turnaround time AND provide a test playground for service level code that could speed development of such code greatly... and encourage interactive test development at the same time. What do you think?

How to enable Rosetta simulators on Xcode 26 Beta 3 under MacOS 26 Beta 3?
Using Xcode 26 Beta 3 on MacOS 26 Beta 3, I cannot see any Rosetta Simulators even though I've turned on: Xcode Product -> Destination -> Show All Run Destinations I suspected that there has been an issue with showing them on Xcode, then I used Terminal to verify: First I tried to run/build unit tests with an ARM64 simulator, of course, I got a failed result - Because my project hasn't fully supported ARM64 yet. xcodebuild test \ -scheme MyScheme \ -project MyProject.xcodeproj \ -destination "platform=iOS Simulator,name=iPhone 16,arch=arm64" Output: Undefined symbol: _OBJC_CLASS_$_MTAmiVoice Then I tried with a Rosetta simulator: xcodebuild test \ -scheme MyScheme \ -project MyProject.xcodeproj \ -destination "platform=iOS Simulator,name=iPhone 16,arch=x86_64" Output: xcodebuild: error: Unable to find a destination matching the provided destination specifier: { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:x86_64, OS:latest, name:iPhone 16 } Available destinations for the "MyScheme" scheme: { platform:macOS, arch:arm64, variant:Designed for [iPad,iPhone], id:14975ac530130e6513017194c34d61ec91d18706, name:My Mac } { platform:iOS, id:dvtdevice-DVTiPhonePlaceholder-iphoneos:placeholder, name:Any iOS Device } { platform:iOS Simulator, id:dvtdevice-DVTiOSDeviceSimulatorPlaceholder-iphonesimulator:placeholder, name:Any iOS Simulator Device } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:ADD3BC9A-B3C5-4A60-9BC0-AE5C0CC5AB74, OS:26.0, name:iPad (A16) } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:2CA6EE27-BDC0-4A01-9ADF-418F3C967EED, OS:26.0, name:iPad Air 11-inch (M3) } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:73F383A0-FBA9-4EE8-95F1-C337B936A5F2, OS:26.0, name:iPad Air 13-inch (M3) } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:3A0EE8B8-6F69-455D-B69A-8F2A834608D3, OS:26.0, name:iPad Pro 11-inch (M4) } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:61358EB9-A87E-45F9-80EB-CA17D2289C54, OS:26.0, name:iPad Pro 13-inch (M4) } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:D040351C-6177-42BC-B0E2-9E0C995EA515, OS:26.0, name:iPad mini (A17 Pro) } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:7D58AA15-86D0-4E8A-8C1C-A6CD33B70BB4, OS:26.0, name:iPhone 16 } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:4CE14A8D-3E2C-4ACA-B12C-41F4642553D2, OS:26.0, name:iPhone 16 Plus } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:C5B76D64-DC54-4BB9-8EFC-CF44D8346379, OS:26.0, name:iPhone 16 Pro } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:5973F4D1-5C4F-4386-B0BA-A36C1A542138, OS:26.0, name:iPhone 16 Pro Max } { platform:iOS Simulator, arch:arm64, id:A6030BF7-0D50-4A48-A883-FDC276C6FCFF, OS:26.0, name:iPhone 16e } As far as I can understand, there is no Rosetta Simulator installed yet. My question is: Are there any additional steps that I need to do to trigger Rosetta Simulators on this workstation? With my other workstation, I have Mac Sequoia 15.5, Xcode 16 and Xcode 26 Beta 3, everything works perfectly for me: I can see Rosetta Simulator with Xcode 26 Beta and run my app with on Rosetta simulators. cannot update system time on AppleWatch using simctl

AVCaptureSession taking too long in XCode 26 beta 2 debugger
XCode 26 beta 2 is taking more than 20 seconds to start AVCaptureSession when AVCaptureVideoDataOutput and AVCaptureAudioDataOutput are added. The problem occurs only during debugging and is clearly seen with Cinematic Capture sample code by Apple. I am using iPhone 14 Pro running iOS 26 beta 2 for reference.
