How to create a custom SF Symbol using Affinity Designer
When I first tried to create a custom SF Symbol using Affinity Designer, I encountered difficulties because of two problems which have cumulated: SVG files created by Affinity Designer cannot be directly imported into the SF Symbols app because Affinity Designer totally recreates the content of tag <g id="Notes">, making so the file incompatible for later import into the SF Symbols app. So I had to manually fix that tag via a text editor in order to make the file compatible with the SF Symbols app. Because I was so focused on fixing manually the SVG file, I did not see that the actual content of my SVG file did not follow all Apple recommendations. As a consequence, I have posted this question on the forum: Struggling creating a custom SF Symbol: The provided variants are not interpolatable Finally I have found a way to create an SVG file compatible with SF Symbols using Affinity Designer, meeting the Apple recommendations, and at last perfectly suitable for further use in Xcode. You will find the solution in my reply to this post below which is actually a quasi copy/paste of my final own reply to my original post. Marc

Getting original LocationNode from hit tested SCNNode
I would like to modify the content of a published LocationNode upon been clicked by the user. But unfortunately: func hitTest(_ point: CGPoint, options: [SCNHitTestOption : Any]? = nil) -> [SCNHitTestResult] returns an SCNNode array from which it is impossible to retrieve the original LocationNode being inserted in order to be able to modify it. Of course the solution would be to either insert the SCNNode corresponding to the inserted LocationNode in a custom class or conversely insert the identifier of the custom object as a tag of the LocationNode, in order to solve the issue. But both options seem impossible to implement. May anyone help me?

Few screen tap feedback ideas (and implementation YouTube video)
I've been playing around with iPad PRO M5 13" as part of my goal to implement some music relating SPH particle simulation effects on it - and this involves utilizing tap events also from the incredible looking fresh screen the device has. See more information from here, all should be overreactively implemented but the ideas remain (with almost zero cost copy fragment shader) : `https://youtu.be/ci-GSgQ0wlM` This attached image shows the tap effects implementation brought just bit a little further than in the video.

Confidential Innovation Proposal.Inquiry About Formal Communication Channel
I am writing to express interest in engaging with Apple regarding a highly original and commercially relevant concept related to future iPhone innovation. Given the confidential and proprietary nature of this idea, I am not in a position to share details through an open inquiry or standard feedback form. I would welcome the opportunity to present this concept through an official and formal communication channel that ensures appropriate confidentiality and professional evaluation, should Apple have an established process for external innovation or partnership discussions. Please advise if there is a suitable point of contact or procedure for initiating such a conversation in accordance with Apple’s policies. Thank you for your time and consideration. H ello there. I just installed IOS 26 on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. But i think i found a Bug with a Widget where you have an overview of all devices and their battery. In IOS 18 when we used the Dark Theme (Dark Icons etc.) this widget was dark aswell (look at the picture) and now in IOs everything is dark except this widget. Its kinda annoying…

Repost : Analog Clock on lock screen
When we are going to have a real analog clock option on the lock screen. If an apple watch can do it surely its not that difficult. For someone who uses a clock to tell what time it isn't as opposed to what time it is, i’m constantly having to convert a digital image where the image of hands on a dial is so much easier. Surely this isnt because someone has forgotten how to read a clock

Ios26 beta 3 concerns about liquid glass design
With the new ios 26 beta 3 helps some stabillty and performance issues but most of the liquid glass has been removed or made very frosty look; and it defeats the whole purpose of a big redesign, and even thought the changes are because of readability and contrast complaints it should not take away liquid glass design. I think apple should consider adding a toggle or choice to choose if they would want a more frosted look or a more liquid glass look the the original plan.

How can a student start learning Apple’s approach to design?
Hello everyone, I'm 14 and absolutely enthusiastic about Apple — not only the products themselves, but the design nuance, the sense that everything has been well thought-out, and even stuff like Fitness+ and the Tips app. I love how much attention Apple pays to making every aspect of the experience feel deliberate and cohesive. My dream is to eventually become an Apple employee, specifically in design (maybe even retail for the beginnin). I know that I am young right now, but I would like to start learning as soon as possible. To you all who have experience with design or anything else, what are a few things or habits one my age should focus on learning to strengthen in the right direction? to maybe reach this dream Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! chase

Clarification on UIDesignRequiresCompatibility Key and Liquid Glass Adoption
Dear Apple Developer Relations Team, We are currently reviewing the documentation for the UIDesignRequiresCompatibility Info.plist key. In the documentation, there is a warning that states: "Temporarily use this key while reviewing and refining your app’s UI for the design in the latest SDKs." However, in the adoption guide for Liquid Glass: Adopting Liquid Glass, we did not see any explicit requirement to force adoption of the Liquid Glass design. We have the Gojek app, which currently uses the UIDesignRequiresCompatibility key. To ensure long-term stability, we would like clarification on the following points: Future Support of the Key: Is it safe to continue using the UIDesignRequiresCompatibility key? Can you confirm whether this key will remain supported or if there are plans for it to be deprecated/removed in future iOS versions? Liquid Glass Adoption: Our app’s design guidelines do not align with the Liquid Glass style. Can you confirm that adoption of Liquid Glass is not mandatory, and that apps can continue to use their existing custom design guidelines without any restrictions? Compatibility with iOS 26: Are there any required changes we need to make to our existing views to ensure that the UI will continue to render as it does today on iOS 26 and beyond? We want to make sure we provide the best user experience while remaining compliant with Apple’s guidelines. Your clarification would help us plan our design and development roadmap accordingly. Thank you for your support and guidance.

unable to optimize App for iPad
I use swiftui to build apps on iPhone and iPad. There is no problem with the iPhone app. The game display is fully shown on iPhone. However, for the iPad, the game display is not shown and the screen goes black. I had to tap the button on the upper left side.(looks like a side view button) After that, the game display is only shown in the left side in a very small size. How can I make the game display fully shown in the iPad?

List View within a Scrollview
The bane of my existence has been designing interfaces where the whole view needs to scroll, but a portion is a List and the other portion is static. I run into this problem time and again so I was hoping someone has a good solution because we all know that embedding a List view inside ScrollView is a no-go within SwiftUI. It simply doesn't work. So what is a best practice when you need the whole screen to scroll, but a portion is a List? Use a navigation stack instead of a ScrollView? What if it's a child view of a navigation stack already?

Can't make buttons rectangular!
Ever since Xcode Version 26.0.1 I cannot for the life of me make my buttons rectangular. They are all capsule (or oval) shaped. My interface was designed for square buttons but no matter what I do the issue stays the same. This is what I have (it's fairly barebones but would have worked before I believe): @IBOutlet weak var PagesInterface: UIButton! override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() PagesInterface.layer.cornerRadius = 0 PagesInterface.layer.masksToBounds = true }

SwiftUI iOS26 beta7 ".navigationTitle()" does't show small title in Navigation Bar.
As the title indicates the problem, the large title is shown but the small title in Navitation Bar view is not shown when scrolled up with iOS26 beta7. It works with iOS18 or earlier. Is this iOS26 bug?

UIDesignRequiresCompatibility not available for watchOS
Looking at the UIDesignRequiresCompatibility documentation, watchOS is not listed among the supported platforms. When added to the project, it is also being ignored, resulting in Liquid Glass design. It is possible to opt-out from Liquid Glass design temporarily. Is that just an oversight for Apple Watch please?
