URGENT: Complete Data Loss After iPhone-to-iPhone iCloud Sync - Engineering Escalation Required
Dear Apple Engineering Team, I am experiencing catastrophic data loss affecting years of documents after a routine iPhone-to-iPhone iCloud synchronization. Standard Apple Support has been unable to resolve this issue, and I urgently need engineering-level assistance. INCIDENT SUMMARY: Date: August 9, 2025 Action: Synced iCloud from iPhone 16 to iPhone 12 mini Result: ALL files in iCloud Drive on Mac disappeared Data lost: Multiple years of documents including critical PDF files Support Case #: [Your case number if you have one] TECHNICAL DETAILS: Mac: MacBook Pro running macOS Sonoma 14.6.1 Source: iPhone 16 Destination: iPhone 12 mini iCloud account: [Your Apple ID] WHAT HAPPENED: Had fully populated iCloud Drive on Mac and iPhone 16 Signed into iCloud on iPhone 12 mini to sync data After sync completion, Mac's iCloud Drive became completely empty Desktop and Documents folders show in structure but contain no files iCloud.com shows empty folders "Recently Deleted" in iCloud.com is also empty ATTEMPTED RECOVERY: Checked ~/Library/Mobile Documents/ - only folder structure remains Verified with 'brctl dump' - shows folders but no documents Checked all trash locations - empty No Time Machine backup available Apple Support unable to recover server-side backups CRITICAL QUESTIONS: Does Apple maintain point-in-time snapshots of iCloud data that engineering can access? Getting error 'Can't Decode' when exporting a video file via AVAssetExportSession
I'm working on a video player app that has the basic functionality of viewing a video and then be able to trim and crop that video and then save it. My flow of trimming a video and then saving it works well with any and every video. Cropping, however, doesn't work in the sense that I am unable to Save the video and export it. Whenever I crop a video, in the video player, I can see the cropped version of the video (it plays too!) but on saving said video, I get the error: Export failed with status: 4, error: Cannot Decode I've been debugging for 2 days now but I'm still unsure as to why this happens. I'm almost certain the bug is somewhere cause of cropping and then saving/exporting. If anyone has dealt with this before, please let me know what the best step to do is! If you could help me refine the flow for cropping and exporting, that'd be really helpful too. Thanks!

Really hoping that an iterative update to the iOS 26 releases.
Hey there, Just writing here to say how I do enjoy the latest update, but I can’t seem to run it on my iPhone 14 Pro well because it tends to overheat. i can deal with the stuttering issues and app crashes, that’s understandable, but for some reason the hardware seem to really heat up after normal use (scrolling on social media platforms). oh also, I do think rolling back your phone‘s software should be a simpler process as well. It’s not impossible, but the demand of a computer in reinstating a previous backup when iCloud backups your device through WiFi seems like a missed opportunity. Okay. Thank you for reading.

iOS 26 : iPhone 16 Pro not charging via USB-C
Hello, I installed iOS 26 beta 1 yesterday when it came off but now, when I plug my iPhone, it just do nothing. I can charge it via the induction charger but I can't via USB-C port. The other way I can charge it is by turning my iPhone off and plugging it so it starts and then it charges via USB-C Port even when it starts. The thing is that when I unplug the cable and try to plug it back in, it doesn't charge anymore... I tried to put the restore mode (with the Mac and the cable on the screen) and even the DFU Mode but the iPhone is not detected by my Macbook and it's the same thing for my Windows PC : not detected... I also tried to erase the settings and content but same issue... Not charging Apple Store can do nothing because it's a dev beta... Am I the only one to have that issue ?

Disabling Dolby Atmos MAT2.0 with an Apple TV 4k 3rd gen 128gb OS26
I have an Apple TV 4k 3rd gen 128gb model connected to a downstream device that is compatible with all surround sound formats except object-based ones like DTS:X, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Atmos MAT2.0 . However, I would still like to have the highest possible audio output from the Apple TV 4k and not have to downgrade to the lossy Dolby 5.1 or stereo options when playing back content with Atmos audio (only that is affected since all other non-object-based audio is output without any problems since the problem arises from the MAT2.0 encoding for Atmos content which my downstream device is not able to decode). Please let me know if I missed a setting that can resolve my problem and otherwise please either consider adding the option or including me in the closed beta for the Apple TV OS26 since I heared that an option for audio-passtrough is in the works. Issue getting back only a subset of product IDs for purchase controller
As of today we seem to continuously get back 21 of the product IDs we have defined when the shop initializes. This is causing what looks like intermittent bug behavior in our shop. The IDs sent each time are random (not always the same 21). So sometimes they match shop offers and the packs look right and can be bought and sometimes the ones our current shop offers need are not sent and so the offers in game look wrong and error when you try to buy. Is anyone else seeing this new behavior of not getting down all their product IDs successfully?

Question regarding ethernet over USB-C
Hello, I have a question regarding the ethernet-over-USB-C stack within iOS/iPadOS. It seems that when manually assigning an IP on this interface within iOS, the IP is stored. Therefore, when disconnecting (the USB-C cable) and reconnecting to another device for a subsequent ethernet connection, the iOS device will always default to the previously assigned IP address (obviously, this isn't the case if the other end is a DHCP server). So, within the iPhone's Ethernet-over-USB-C driver, I was curious if iOS just keeps the assignment based on the MAC of the local USB-C interface, or is stored information tied to some other identifier? Is there a way to override this behavior? Thank you

Question About CarPlay Certification When Using Custom Wiring Harness
Hello developers, My question isn't directly related to app or software development, but this seems to be the most appropriate channel to possibly find the information I need. Context I work for an automotive company and I'm currently looking for Apple CarPlay certification guidelines. We're in the process of installing a multimedia system in a vehicle. The most viable solution would be to use the multimedia unit and microphone provided by our supplier, but with a custom wiring harness developed by our company to simplify the installation process. The multimedia unit, microphone, and the supplier’s harness are already certified for CarPlay. Question Would using our company’s custom wiring harness affect the existing CarPlay certification of the supplier’s product? Any information, contact, or suggestion on where I could find official guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Making music….
Maybe a bit of a simplistic question, but…. Best ways to create music - programmatically - within an app? I have a few small, simple games that I would like to add some background music to. I’ve fiddled with AVAudio, SKAudio, and now AudioKit. I’m just not quite finding the holy grail of music generation. I don’t know if it’s more technique or tool. So I thought I’d hit up the pool of minds here for some suggestions…?

Hey guys! I'm currently designing an app that will implement the 20-20-20 rule. This eye health technique has personally helped millions of people around the world, including myself, as it allowed me to control my eyesight that was significantly growing at one point. After moving to a new house, I for some reason began lowering how much I followed the rule. ITMS-91061: Missing privacy manifest
Hi all, Im trying tu publish an app for iOS and I get it rejected by the lack of this privacy manifest, but unless I understood this wrong, this manifest is needed for external tools used, or maybe Im wrong, Im publishing an app made in Unity, so in this case, one has to include a privacy manifest by default? Sorry Im lost in all these terms, so I don't know if im asking something redundant, if you know how to fix this issue please tell me or direct me to the process because I haven't been able to identify the issue. Porting Games Over to Apple Arcade

In rare VoIP calls, B can’t hear A, but A can hear B — audio input issue on iOS?
Hi everyone, We’re seeing a rare but frustrating issue in our iOS VoIP app and would appreciate any advice. What’s happening: In some VoIP calls between two users (let’s say A and B), B can’t hear A’s voice, but A can still hear B just fine. It doesn’t happen often, but once it does, the issue persists until the device is restarted. Users who experience this issue typically have other voice or conferencing apps installed and actively use them. They report that when our app runs into this problem, those other apps continue to work normally. ⸻ What we’ve ruled out: • AVAudioSession has microphone permission, and audio input works under normal conditions • Network conditions are stable • App-side logic seems solid — the issue occurs extremely rarely (e.g., 1 out of several thousand calls), making it unlikely to be caused by a consistent bug in our call flow ⸻ What we’ve tried to fix it (all ineffective): Restarting the call — no effect Force-quitting and relaunching the app — no effect Toggling Bluetooth: disconnecting and reconnecting audio route, or switching back to built-in mic — no effect Replugging wired headphones or switching to the default iPhone audio input — no effect ⸻ What actually works (so far): • Restarting the device — this is the only action that reliably fixes the issue ⸻ What we’re looking for help with: 1. Does this sound like an iOS-level AVAudioSession routing or audio stack issue? 2. Is there any way to recover from this state without rebooting the device — either through iOS system settings or programmatically? 3.
